I spent 6 months trying to get hospital bills paid for and during that time I couldn't get a doctor to see me on a lien. My health insurance had lapsed so I was stuck. Nick went to law school with a friend of mine who recommended him. Within the first two weeks of hiring Nick, the hospital collections stop calling me, I had gotten my first updated MRI, and got a doctor to start treating me on a lien basis which meant I didn't have to pay anything. For the 2019 claim, the insurance company kept trying to play a game about how I didn't seek treatment until I got an attorney, but Nick made quick work of that and got my case back on track. We ended up having to file a lawsuit because of how much time the insurance company wasted in getting me care. For my accident in 2023, I got T-bone getting off the freeway. First thing I did as soon as I was discharged a couple days later I called Nick. "Surprise - surprise" there was no six month. Wait in trying to see a doctor or getting updated MRIs, and the hospital bill didn't go into collections this time. I appreciate that throughout the process for the 2019 and 2023 injuries, Nick was realistic, compassionate, and firm. He didn't promise me a retirement, but he did promise that I would get medical care and he would fight. After having to deal with the nonsense in 2019, it was nice to know that somebody was actually there to deal with the headaches and I didn't have to. I had a really bad experience deal with him his manager and assistants they did not want help us anymore. We got all emails, text messages that everything in this review is correct and the new attorney fix all the work he did not want to do. He was a really bad attorney in this case and I got everything to proof. My current attorney has done more work in 45 days that he did in a year, he order all medical records from 8 doctors, made corrections on the case and is negotiating higher settlement that Steve and his assistant. He send me and the new attorney a lien on February 22,2024 and we don't even have the file to my new attorney that was send by him the same day I fire Steve 01/24/2024. I will file a formal complain to BBB because this guy gave us nothing but bad recommendations and had the case for 1 year and did not fight to max out the benefits. After you do, they will never again reach out proactively. I initiated every communication and was frequently ignored. Their go-to line is that if you don't hear from them it's because they are busy working on your behalf. This false message is meant to make you stay quiet. Despite my requests to speak with a paralegal or attorney, I never did. All communication was routed through an intake manager, which is a way for them to avoid accountability for the false and misleading information they give you. I received inconsistent and often contradictory information -- particularly around the communication with the insurance company. It became clear over time that the goal was to make me feel like my case had little value so I would be relieved to accept whatever low offer they put in front of me. They drag the process out, prioritizing quantity of cases over quality of representation. Months pass with little communication, bills pile up, and you grow exhausted and desperate. By the time an offer comes, you have been worn down to the point where you will accept whatever they "negotiate". They will not take your case to court -- that takes time and effort that does not fit their model. They told me that if I wanted to pursue a lawsuit with another firm then I should expect to pay upfront for representation. This is false. Personal injury attorneys work on contingency. That statement was either ignorant or intentionally misleading. I fired this firm. If you are hurt and want someone to preserve your rights and best interest, look elsewhere. Hire an attorney who is honest and willing to fight for you.
