My favorite things to order, as of now, are the oysters, micheladas, quesito de camaron and the aguachiles en navolato. This place is awesome. My general manager from Downey Hyundai comes here one to two times a week and he loves it so I tagged the long one time and it's awesome. He did all the ordering so I'm not really sure what we got but everything was phenomenal. We got these I remember Fried shrimps with the special sauce on it. It was delicious shrimp cocktail, but it was with everything I had crab and oyster and avocado it was delicious also and two sushi rolls which were also delicious. Highly recommend this place. Sushi meets Mexican. I have been here two times since Emporio Sushi Y Mariscos opened just before COVID-19. The first time (7/24/20) was a terrible wait. Over an hour for takeout. All I ordered was a Tiger Roll ($12.00) and a medium Horchata De Coco ($4.00). Both were extremely satisfying, but that wait time, tho... The second time (9/10/20) my brother and I shared a Tiger roll, an Imperial roll, a salmon roll, an oyster shot, and caldo de camaron for a grand total of $62.70. If you prefer your shrimp to be shelled and deveined, don't order the caldo de camaron here. My favorite roll was by far the tiger roll. It was the freshest. Their Imperial tempera roll seemed to hold up well, but the potato curls on top seemed a bit much plus they didn't taste good. The staff was indifferent both times. Not sure what's up with that. Fuimos un Domingo poquito después de medio día. Como a la 1:30 de la tarde. Habíamos visto muchas promociones en la aplicación de Instagram. La comida se veía muy sabrosa y decidimos ir a probarlos. Al entrar había una pareja adelante de nosotros esperando una mesa. No se cuanto ellos tenían esperando pero de cuando nosotros entramos todavía esperamos todo alrededor de 10 minutos. En ese tiempo nadie vino a preguntarnos cuántos éramos para una mesa oh por lo menos " ahorita los atendemos". A los 10 minutos nos sentaron y nos dieron el menú. Nuestra mesera después vino a pedirnos la orden de la bebidas y después a tomarnos la orden de la comida. Desafortunadamente nuestra mesera no tenía ningún atención al cliente. Parecía hasta que le molestaba tener que atendernos. A la hora de tomarnos la orden de comida no recomendó ningún platillo. Cuando le pregunte por el precio de la Botana de camarón ( porque no estaba en el menu) y tuna me dijo que no sabía y que tendría que preguntar pero no se ofreció averiguar. No lo hiba ordenar pero mi esposo me dijo "Mija usted no pregunte ordénalos si los quiere" y los ordené. Pero cabe notar que la mesera no tenía ninguna iniciativa de ser complaciente con nosotros. La botana estaba rica la verdad tenía buen sabor. Mi hermana pidió Los Camarones Roca y también estaban muy ricos. Dulcecitos y picosos a la vez; nos recordaron un poco a los de Panda Express pero obviamente más picosos . Mi esposo ordenó el Molcajete Mixto y la verdad ese platillo si estuvo mediocre en sabor. La carne estaba demasiado seca, la salsa/jugo del molcajete no tenía sabor. En el momento que nuestra mesera terminó de tomarnos la orden ya no tuvo la gentileza de pararse en nuestra mesa hasta que ya era hora de pagar. Varias veces tuve que pedirle a otra mesera si me podría traer cubiertos extra, más salsa, más agua, servilletas, y una cajita para llevar. Intentamos tratar de llamar la atención de nuestra mesera pero o se hacia o si estaba que nunca vinos a ver si necesitábamos algo más. El restaurante no estaba lleno y no tenían gente esperando para que los atendieran. Las otras meseras si fueran muy lindas pero desafortunadamente la que nos tocó a nosotros nada más no se portó bien. A la hora de pagar también le tuvimos que pedir la cuenta a otra mesera y entonces si ya vino nuestra mesera original a entregarnos la cuenta. Mi hermana aprovechó y le pidió su nombre entonces si su actitud cambió "Fabi cualquier cosa que necesiten muchas gracias" un poco tarde para ser amable. Pagamos la cuenta y NO DEJAMOS TIP Ahora yo entiendo que hay un debate muy grande de "you always have to tip" y en esta familia no se Cree en eso. Porque te voy a dar un tip por un mal servicio? Page lo que ordenamos y ya; si ella nos hubiera atendido bien le hubiera dado el 10% si nos hubiera dado excelente servicio el doble. Pero no lo hizo en verdad su actitud es la razón por lo que en verdad no no recomendamos a Emporio. Comer uno puede ir a donde sea pero donde te traten bien ahí si no en cualquier lugar. En resumen la comida está ok pero hay lugares con mejor comida y sabor, mejor atención al cliente y mejores precios. I did not like the flavor combination, too much cream cheese and plus the rice quality just wasn't there. Its a good idea but the execution wasn't right. Anyway back to their seafood I ordered a tostada, and the longostinos, pulpo tacos and some drinks they were all amazing! I can't wait to come back and order strictly from seafood menu and cocktails. Oh em geee! I had been seeing this place pop up on my Instagram newsfeed and I kept saying I need to try this. I am so glad I made the drive from Azusa to Downey to try this place with my bestie. Yes I am aware that there is one in Fontana, and trust, I will be taking my sis in law to that one but the bestie lives closer to the one in Downey. The food was delicious the micheladas were great and the customer service was welcoming. I like that they didn't seem like they were trying o rush us out, we sat there and ate and drank and caught up and they would come by when they saw we were on empty. Food is great! Service is horrible! Blonde short haired waiter is more into gossiping with her coworker about the rest of the staff than taking care of the only table in the restaurant. If upselling is what the owners of the restaurant want she is not it. I wanted to order more food but she kept telling me to wait while she kept talking to 2 other women behind the counter. After the third attempt she finally comes in a hurry to get right back to her chat. We were a table of 5 that paid 136$ for food but were never given a napkin nor she gave us the time to ask for a piece of lime.
