customer service is amazing, they are very nice and sweet and are very welcoming. The food is so freakin good, I recommend getting the sushi burrito, and the garlic peas. The atmosphere is a nice settling area and very good.

My friend and I stop by after our tennis game. This place is small but cozy , great family environment. Place is small but has enough room to spend some time with friends. Food was good High recommended

Even after 4 years this place still is the best in Downey imo!! I was sad though to see it was so empty on a Friday night after work. I was the only patron there for most of my meal :( The owner is a doll. She always comes up and strikes up a conversation. She's so cute! I was in the mood for oyster shooter and I ended up getting 2. That's a first for me but hey I was craving it!! I can't remember what the roll was called but I got the spicy tuna with avocado on top with a spicy cilantro sauce and red onions on top.

I love this little hole in the wall!! They always have the best sushi! I always get the 911 roll because it has avocado, spicy tuna, and cucumber!! The portions are huge, and the sushi is made fresh! The waitress cindy is very sweet and attentive!

Hard work deserves a reward. Come reward yourself at Jin.

People. You need to visit this place before it closes down due to a lack of foot traffic. I genuinely felt like the only places where I could get decent sushi were Little Tokyo and Sawtelle Village. Little did I know that a delicious, authentic experience was literally down the street from me. But, more importantly is how hospitable everyone at this establishment is. My servers greeted me with a warm welcome, followed by a few friendly suggestions including a sushi roll special. And, when they were busy juggling other responsibilities at the restaurant, even the sushi chef himself would step up to ask me if I needed anything. I was there for little over an hour. But, I could have stayed longer if I had a bigger stomach and a larger wallet. So many tasty options. Such deliciously minimalist cuts of fish. And, plenty of cold beer to enjoy a game on the yuuuge big screen in a clean, intimately lit environment. Jin Sushi is now going to save me plenty of time and gas to get my sushi fix.

Great food that sushi we had in the area. You should definitely give a Jin a shot. I would strongly recommend this place to everybody. The service is always great and the chef know what they're doing.

Great place for sushi. Jin Sushi does a great job of bringing people in, as for keeping them there, well they rely on good sushi. I witnessed the previous sushi place fail at this location before Jin Sushi opened up. Shows you how good food will easily attract clientele. The Food - I ordered the pink lady roll, and the new sashimi roll on their menu, my kids had the usual chicken bowl with miso soup. Rolls taste fresh, and the combinations are excellent on both taste and presentation. I wont talk about the chicken bowl, as I'm not a fan, I wouldn't be able to give a comparable, and fair review. The Service - We always get treated great here, the waitresses always make an effort to be friendly and engage with my kids. The food comes out quickly and we never find ourselves waiting for long in any part of our visit. The Ambiance - The lighting is on the brighter side, the tables are situated in a cozy layout, and the back wall is covered by a big TV. Overall, I remembered what this place looked like before it was Jin Sushi, and they have definitely made improvements. Great spot to take your lunch break and have some sushi.

The girl at the cashier was helpful, but seemed like she might've been having an off night. Either way, I do appreciate her help. I had this spot on my bookmarks for years, so I am glad to finally be able to stop by here. The process was a bit confusing when I first walked in, as there were no employees at the front counter - 2 of them were busy in the back cooking, eating, and talking and the other one was focused on making more boba and the trash, I guess. I did a walkthrough to look at everything, then I came back to the front counter and noticed the signages on the side wall about purchasing a cup first, then adding toppings and filling up your drink, then coming back to the front counter to get your drink sealed by an employee. I waited in line patiently, as the employees were all in the back doing various things, and the guy who was bringing out the boba and changing the trash finally came out. I noted that he was wearing the same gloves he did while taking out the trash and started to ring customers in front of me up and help seal finished boba cups wearing those same dirty gloves. I was disgusted, but since I drove a long way for this spot, I decided to stay, as he is only touching the outside of the cup anyway, and I will just wipe it down later. Anyway, I bought a cup and filled it with some ice, my favorite milk tea - jasmine milk tea, and boba. I do wished that they had a couple other toppings I liked though. I was ready to have my drink sealed and waited patiently for the employee to seal it. Overall, it was a good concept they have going on and it is one of those one time experiences at least for me, but they have to work on their cleanliness because there were 2 employees in the back cooking food for customers while eating themselves while cooking in front of it and the other employee wearing the same gloves doing everything, even when changing / touching the trash.

I felt almost confused at first, like as if the restaurant wasn't even sure of its own identity. However, once I started eating the food, I understood and am extremely impressed. I had ordered the crawfish pasta, popcorn chicken (spicy), and fried baos. The pasta was cooked perfectly with chunks of crawfish and sausage in a creamy tomato-esque sauce. I usually don't care for crawfish, but it was so delicious here. The sauce was so buttery and creamy, and the sausage added a cajun spice to the dish. The components are all very seafood boil, but felt different and innovative with unique flavors. The popcorn chicken was seasoned very well and had the perfect fried, crispy texture you'd expect from popcorn chicken. What really made this unique was the sauce that it was served with. I am not sure what exactly the sauce is, but it tastes like a ginger scallion sauce that is served with Chinese boiled chicken. The sauce is a little more elevated and flavorful than a traditional ginger scallion sauce. I would've never thought to combine popcorn chicken with it, but it works! The fried baos were the most surprising to me. I was keeping my expectations low because I usually think frying something that's not normally fried doesn't always bode well. Fear not, the baos were fried perfectly. They were fried lightly while the inside kept your typical bao consistency. Also, in case you were wondering the type of bao, it is basically a steamed bao with ground pork, and I think an egg yolk inside. The flavors felt very much like traditional dim sum, yet new and fresh. Hats off to the chefs and the creators of these dishes. So innovative while still keeping the familiar Asian flavors! I ordered delivery, so this review was solely based off of the food.

Honestly, it's basically…read morethe same broth, the king version just loads it up with brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs, so think of it as a fully stacked boat noodle. The broth is the star here. It's rich, flavorful, slightly sweet with a tangy kick, pretty sure there's some tangerine going on in there. Just a heads up, even "mild spicy level" has a noticeable heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, don't try to be brave... go no spice. The meats were surprisingly good, tender, not chewy, which is where a lot of places mess up. Noodles came out hot, no complaints there. We also got mango sticky rice and this is where they really sealed the deal. Mango was perfectly in season, juicy, sweet, not that sad sour off-season stuff. Sticky rice was soft and actually tasted like it was made fresh, not reheated from yesterday. Waitress was attentive and nice. Place itself is small, clean, modern, very mom-and-pop but done right, not rundown. I will definitely come back.

It's tucked in a small strip mall with limited parking. The inside is very small, but cozy, clean, and has a warm mom and pop feel to it. The menu is pretty big with lots of options to choose from. _Chicken Satay ($11.59) Strips of chicken charcoal broiled. Served with peanut sauce and cucumber chutney. Always a must try. This was probably one of the most well cooked and seasoned satay. Very moist and well flavored. The peanut sauce was spot on and the vinegar sweet chutney is a perfect balance and adds a nice crunch texture. _Tom Kha Fish Noodle Soup ($14.99) Rice noodles with fresh fish filet, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, galangal, kaffir lime, leaves in coconut milk spicy & sour soup. I would grow up having Tom Kha soup with my dad but was surprised as I've never seen fish kha in a noodle soup. I've had lots of Tom Kha and this is one of the top 3 I've had. The perfect amount of spices and aromas. Not too acidic or watery, and the right amount of sweetness. The fish was soft and had a good amount. The noodles were glass noodles, which was nice but I will say towards the end, the noodle soaks a lot of the broth. I would probably switch out for a different type of noodle next time. _Spicy Fried Rice ($13.79) Stir-fried with green beans, bell pepper, basil and your choice of chicken, pork or tofu. My bf ordered this and he did ask for medium but it was not really spicy (and that's coming from me, someone who really can't do spicy) Second time he ordered it mild and he said it was better and it did pack a bit more of a punch. I do appreciate that the rice was well seasoned and not too oily or buttery. _Orange Chicken ($13.79) Chicken breaded stir fried with Orange sauce. We have been on an orange chicken kick and compare to our favorite at Northern Cafe. We were pleasantly surprised, that this actually knocked it out. To be fair, its very different. I'm used to orange chicken being very sweet and heavy on sauce. This was more of a light sauce that had a tangerine flavor profile, so not overpowering, but still tasting the chicken with the sweetness being the enhancement instead of the main component. _Yen Ta Fo ($14.99) Pink rice noodles with special red soup, shrimp, squid, fish-balls, fish cake, imitation crab stick, tofu, white fungus & vegetables. I first saw this, when my gf, whom is Thai ordered it and I was intrigued as it was a dish I have never seen. I tried a bit and was a fan so when I saw they had it, I had to try their version. The soup was the perfect balance of sweet and sour (and I generally don't like sour), a bit acidic but also had a subtle light and refreshing taste to it. The white fungus had a nice chew to it, but more texture than taste. Safe to say we have found our new favorite Thai restaurant. We came here twice, and both times service is always very inviting and kind. Price is very fair for the quality and quantity.
