    Quesadilla

I've been here several times and it's such a cute place! Especially for a town so small! The service is always friendly, the drinks are always good, and the Cobb salad is I branched out today and tried the quesadilla -- pretty good! My dad got the burger and said it was one of the best he's had in a long time. Great live entertainment!

We decided to go off our beaten path to give this place a shot (we follow on Facebook). Very welcoming from the get-go. Sat at the bar and had great service. The interior is open with eclectic decor. We went with the fiesta chicken & surf-n-turf quesadilla - both were phenomenal. The chicken was juicy & the green beans were amazing. Huge portions. Price point is great. I highly recommend. It's worth the drive.

Don't let the location keep you away! It took a bit of a drive to get here and once we got there it looked as if lights were all off so we were still unsure if they were open however signage let us know they were indeed. Greeted by a waitress when we entered and we were shown to our seats right away. Went with a friend to celebrate my birthday early because it was on her list of places to try and sounded interesting to me. Very pretty decor although a but dark making it difficult to read the menu. I ordered the chicken waffle because I found a review making it sound good & I was glad I got it! Two nice sized chicken pieces alongside a Belgian Waffle and spicy syrup with fries. So good! I also got the Pink Limeade, which was made with skinny syrup cosmo mix, Grey Goose Vodka, Lime Juice and fresh squeezed limes. It was so good!! My friend got the Mangonificent, which was Bacardi Mango, Mango Purée, Sierra Mist,Tajin & Cayenne Pepper. She enjoyed her drink as well. She got the Loaded Mexican Tots and enjoyed them, but sadly I don't get a photo.. Will definitely be returning!! Be sure to check in to get your free scoop of ice cream (we missed out) when close because unfortunately Wi-Fi doesn't work within the building...

This is our go-to most Friday nights for dinner, drinks and pool--EXCEPT when they have a dj, total bummer.

The Whisk has been on our road trip list for awhile, and we finally went with some friends. Greencastle has never been high on my priority list of places to visit, but I'd heard rumors about "The Whisk" being a great place to visit for whisky lovers like myself. And the rumors were true! Walking up to The Whisk...well, that doesn't happen. You have to walk down some stairs that are nondescript, giving the entrance a very old fashioned speakeasy vibe. I immediately fell in love. It feels like a secret club that I'm a part of! The decor is big city speakeasy vibe and lets you know immediately that regardless of shoe you are, you're welcome at the Whisk (see some of the pictures of the decor). We went on a Friday because they have a dinner menu only on Fridays and it changes every week. Tosh and her husband, Joel, are the co-owners and curators of all the food and cocktails. Although there are always small plates on the menu, the full menu complete with dessert was exactly what we wanted. The presentation and flavors of the dinner and drinks felt like being in Chicago or New York, not Greencastle! It was a delightful anachronistic experience. The blackened catfish and The Ghost whisky cocktail were some of the best things I've ingested in a long time. I can't wait to go back!

Well Dang! When you are here you certainly do NOT think you are in Terre Haute anymore!…read more Came here after a work event really just to check it out. When I walked in I asked where it was and the security staff told me to go to the 10th floor. You have to walk through the hotel part and go up. Once you get off I promise you, you feel that you are no longer in Terre Haute. I honestly felt like I was in Charlotte, NC. The view is insane looking at the greenery of what makes Indiana so pretty in the summer time (I can't wait to go back during fall to take in the view then too). The music was a total vibe. It was R&B, Chill POP (is that a thing, don't know how else to describe). There is an outdoor patio area where there was a guy playing live music and people sitting on couches relaxing and watching while enjoying a cocktail. I sat at the bar because I was by myself and certainly didn't want to take up an entire couch and leave that for others that may have larger parties. As soon as I sat down my server came to take my order. While I wasn't really planning to eat, once I looked at the menu the Chicken Nachos were calling my name. Even though I am counting calories, I had to order. Man, when they came out they were huge and so so good. You can order the chicken blackened which I did and man it was great. I just sat and enjoyed my very caloric nachos and a cocktail and just really took it in. I don't live in Terre Haute, I live in Indianapolis, but I spend a ton of time in Terre Haute for work. At that moment, I felt proud. I felt proud of Terre Haute for making the investment and proud that they are attempting to change the city by offering things like this. I host client events for work and I am thinking of ways to host something fun here, so I will be back!

WOW! What an unexpected cool space for Terre Haute. And this is absolutely a 5 star Yelp spot by…read moreTerre Haute standards. More "lounge" than "bar" to me, the space is vast. Through the hotel lobby entrance, take a hard right and then another right to the elevator bank, up to the 10th floor. There is plenty of signage to tell you how to find Altitude. A greeter is at the podium to offer a friendly welcome. We are actually not going to have a drink nor something to eat (note that they do offer food in addition to adult beverages). My aging parents and I simply want to walk around and see the space. And what a great space. Navy, white, golds and gray....sofas, bar seating, cream curtains, loads of windows, giant patio. I liked that the greeter was open and welcoming for us to simply walk around...and he was nice to my older parents who were moving slow. Thinking to myself that this place is more dressed up than dressed down, I am quick to remember this is Terre Haute. I think you could get away with a spectrum of clothing. Save the crappy cut offs and flip flops for another place, but I am certain they would not turn you away at the door. But with that, for a dressed up girls night out or a romantic spot in jeans with someone you love, this spot would be excellent. What a view and a what a patio! Now it is June and at 6:45pm as we are outside on this patio to take in the view, there is little shade, it is a bit warm and the sun is glaring to a person like myself that shuns the sun. But what a great space. Very open and spacious, some hightop tables, but mostly very tasteful outdoor sofas and chairs, with fire-pit coffee tables. Heat lamps are about and I know this space will be a hit at the perfect shoulder months of cool Spring nights and crisp Fall evenings. Full views south, West and North of the Vigo county area. This space in general is definitely a step up in the coolness factor for places to get a drink in this town. I give Altitude a 5 on Yelp and I am yet to have a drink. I'm optimistic that the bone dry Tito's martini with olives I will order on my next visit will match the ambiance we took in. And if they have blue cheese stuffed olives to boot, my cup will runnith over. I will come back.
