Cherry bourbon rita, barrel pick (Bulleit) old fashioned

We loved it here. This was our first time and our server/bartender was so kind and helpful. The food came out quickly and the drinks came out in about 5-6 minutes as they are craft cocktails. Tuesdays and Wednesdays all their appetizers (except traditional wings) are Half Off with the purchase of a specialty cocktail. This is a 21+ establishment. They are connected to Wolfie's so you can get the same food brought over on this side. Both Broken Barrel and Wolfie's have separate (not dog friendly) patios. We enjoyed the ahi tuna - buttery soft and delicious - and the chips and dip. The queso came with pico on top and was so good when mixed together. There was also a salsa cup and it was pretty tasty! The wings both boneless and traditional were so good. The boneless ones were nice and crispy. All wings had lots of sauce on them. We would come back for the drinks alone :) these were great craft cocktails and had a huge variety of bourbon cocktails (sweet or bourbon forward) with lots of different flavors. It was pretty unique compared to a lot of other bars or craft bars we've been to. If you appreciate and enjoy bourbon, check this place out. There's also a few non-bourbon cocktails to choose from if that's more your style!

Ambience is very cool. Service was top notch. Cocktails were great. We had an appetizer and it was good! We will be back!

We popped in here with friends for a quick drink before our movie. I've been a craft beer girl for a long time, but I've been expanding into liquor and cocktails. I've developed a taste for Old Fashioned and was just going to get the traditional one...until I saw the P.B. & J...an Old Fashioned made with Screwball Whiskey, cherry liqueur, cranberry juice, bitters and fresh orange squeeze. I was sold! It was delicious! And I was suddenly sad we had a movie time to make. P.S. the hubby had a Tequila Old Fashioned. Also, very tasty! I will definitely be back to try more tasty concoctions! Plus, I really love everything about the interior...dark wood, comfy intimate seating, a speakeasy vibe.

This is a really great bar. It has a speakeasy vibe, with low lighting and soft music. It is on the small side, which I enjoyed. The drinks are great and at a higher price point than the surrounding area. This is the second time I've been here and there has only been one bartender. So, the service was slow. I do recommend this as a pre-date spot.

Sometimes you want to go where they know your name...but it's probably just because I'm here so much. Celebrating a special occasion? Had a rough day? Happy hour with friends? Just don't want to cook your own dinner? This place is the answer. Jene provides the best recommendations, and makes sure every visit is a great one.

This place is SO unexpected! Located next to the casual Wolfie's Grill in Carmel (the buildings are attached and owned by the same person), this swanky whiskey and bourbon bar feels almost like a speakeasy. With its dim lighting, dark wood and intimate tables, it's the perfect date spot. There was only one server working on the Friday night that he visited, but he was working the room and keeping everyone happy. He was super fun and friendly, and interacting with all of the customers. I tried the Blood and Sand (Monkey Shoulder scotch whiskey, vermouth, blood orange shrub, cherry liqueur) and the New Old Fashioned (Bulleit Rye, brown sugar, bitters, orange and lemon). Both were SO delicious. Like, possibly my favorite whiskey cocktails I've ever had. They were well-mixed and not too strong, yet felt very strong. For $8-$10 dollars a cocktail, you definitely get your money's worth, as the drinks are very high quality and the service was great. You can sit st the bar, a few high top tables, or in the comfy lounge seats/sofas at the entrance. The place isn't too big, but fits around 40 seated and would be a great spot to rent out for a party.

What a great find in Carmel! I was in the area and decided to search for nearby cocktail bars and The Broken Barrel popped up. I previously lived nearby and still was unaware this place existed, so we decided to take a chance! I'm not normally a whiskey drinker, but noticed on their website they had other cocktail offerings. Inside the space was very dim with dark wood and an open concept. I ordered the PB&J old fashioned, which was a great beginners whiskey drink! They did offer food from the restaurant next door, Wolfies. I would definitely return with my husband!

I really enjoyed my visit here with a coworker. I truly did not know this gem existed & I'm glad she introduced me to it. I really liked that they had such an extensive menu of cocktail choices as well as whiskey and bourbon options. I chose to start with the classic whiskey sour and it was fantastic! The cocktail was so well balanced, and made very well. I would absolutely order it again next time I stop by. Second I took our waitresses recommendation and tried the Broken Barrel Sazerac and I did not regret that decision. Again, a well balanced cocktail that was full of flavor but did not hide the wonderful smoothness of the rye. We also ordered some pretzel breadsticks with queso from the Wolfies menu to have a snack with our cocktails and they came out crunchy on the outside + soft on the inside - exactly what you hope for. Would happily join anyone for a cocktail at this spot!

I almost hate to give a review to this place because it is my favorite small bourbon bar and I don't want to blow up the spot. The bartenders especially Jenai are great! They engage in fun conversations, give great suggestions and are super attentive. The drink selection is amazing as well as the cocktail list. In addition, they usually have something special brewing like a local barrel old fashioned. I've become slightly hooked on the Peanut butter whiskey I've gotten in the PB&J. The sazarac is one of my favorites though. This is a great place but don't come. Because I love how cozy and quaint of a place it is and I'm sure you'll fall in love and try and take over my favorite place. Just keep this secret gem between me, you and Yelp.

My friend and I decided to get a drink and they suggested this place! Walking in it is a dimly-lit 1940's era feel - there is a lot of exposed brick and barrels. The feel of the place is something that I have not experienced in Carmel but it was definitely an awesome place and you have to check it out! Our waitress, Jené, was very nice and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks! I ordered the Justy Special which is one of their craft cocktails - it was amazing! My go-to drink is anything with Gin in it! They use Bombay Saphire which is my favorite kind of gin - the drink had hints of botanical elderflower. I will definitely be going back to the Broken Barrel to try their other craft cocktails!

Oh how I love this place! The rustic ambiance with a small little bar at one end and stacked barrels at the other. Delicious whiskey cocktails for any and all whiskey fans. Perfect setting to have a nice conversation and great time with someone. I keep coming back!

This place has potential. The bar selection was really good. Lots of excellent whiskeys and bourbons. I for once had a craft cocktail - Manhattan. It was quite tasty. Others in the group had cocktails as well. No complaints. They have a lounge seating area that resembles a cigar bar but no smoking. Very quiet. Down side was the service was very slow and it wasn't very busy. Will come here again. Its worth the go and i expect it will improve.

The service - exceptional. We ordered the lemon drop martini, Elmo Cola, the Gatsby and liquid love affair. I asked for the liquid love affair to have a very light pour of alcohol and they obliged. Everyone loved their drinks. Even me. And I am NOT a drinker. We ordered shrimp cocktails, lobster bisque, steaks and lobster. Everything so good. My son's steak was overdone but they happily remade it and ALL the sides that came with it. Just immaculate service. We also ordered the chocolate mousse pie. We asked our server to place the candles we had brought on top. Lemme tell you. The service. Just so good. She realized they were sparkler candles so she waited to light it until she was at our table. We did ask the manager if we could present our son his gift during dinner. It was a firearm and we didn't wanna cause any drama or "unsafe" feelings even though, obvi, it wouldn't have been loaded. We did want to respect the establishment and their other patrons. He kindly declined and, of course, we understood. Can we talk about service? Just so exceptional. Customer service for me will make or break any experience. The bills was... A LOT. Even AFTER they comped everything the birthday boy had ordered. But even if they hadn't comped ANYTHING... I always believe in paying good money for good food. The place was clean. The bathroom clean. And there is a lot for parking. Just the best time was had.

They don't let you know about the menu prior to , which I was a bit apprehensive about but it turned out great! For starters we had some chunky guac, watermelon pico, and some kind of verde salsa with chips. 10/10! The Watermelon pico was new to me and very refreshing!! Next we had some steak fajitas with rice. I was not a fan of the rice and the steak wasn't seasoned to my liking but still a good dish! Lastly we had dessert that put me in the mind of being at the state fair. It was a pastry fried (think like funnel cake taste) and fruit ...so yummy! Now the margaritas! Enjoy as much it as little as you like! I loved experimenting and trying different combos. My favorite was the mango spicy flavor! They said they have these events quarterly or so and I can't wait to go to the next one!

Luckily, the food excellent. Family-style apps kept things social, and the broiled goat cheese disappeared faster than corporate budgets in Q4. We were still a bit hungry after the board, so we ordered a "bacon flight" and some deviled eggs. And that is how I learned that bacon served with a sauce is not for me., whether is a spicy chili sauce, a creamy lime dip, a tomato aioli, or a butterscotch-chocolate concoction. The "savory" bacon option was egregiously salty. You might expect that when you're having bacon, but they added even more salt and it was too much. It turns out that I also do not like wasabi on a deviled egg. I would give Divvy 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed half-stars because I like the shared small-concept and our server was friendly. In…read moreshort: The food is dope, the service is attentive, the restaurant is classy but approachable. But mostly it's for Aaron Hansen, the chef at Lone Pine. He's a semifinalist for the Best Chef: Great Lakes (IL, IN, MI, OH) category. What an honor! I'm curious to see if he gets the medal, but even if not, hopefully this recognition will draw people to visit Lone Pine, because people really need to visit. I don't know how Lone Pine would describe its menu, but I would call it elevated comfort food. One of the things my table ordered was chicken piccata. When was the last time you saw chicken piccata on a menu?! It was delicious, and served with mashed potatoes and lettuce leaves that added a nice, fresh crunch to each bite. We also got the roasted salmon, which was served with fingerling potatoes in a pesto sauce, with arugula on the side. This, too, was delicious and rich, yet fresh. I ordered the short ribs, which came with polenta and caramelized pearl onions. The short ribs were just fatty enough, and the sauce that they were surrounded by was unctuous and wonderful to eat with the polenta. I guess I should have started this review by writing about our first course! We got the French onion soup, bloody Mary wedge salad and the Caesar salad. The Caesar salad at Lone Pine is probably the best Caesar salad that I've eaten in Carmel, and maybe in all of the Indianapolis area. The thing that Lone Pine does differently and spectacularly is that they use breadcrumbs and not croutons. That makes all the difference! Granted, it does look a bit like a pile of pencil shavings on a plate, but sometimes the dowdiest foods are the best-tasting foods. The result is a satisfyingly salty, crunchy, creamy, crispy salad that I couldn't stop eating. I know I will be back to Lone Pine for the Caesar salad. We ended our meal by sharing two desserts: the apple pie panna cotta and the Lone Pine chocolate cake. Both desserts were amazing, but the cake won us all over because it looked deceptively heavy, but it was light and airy, and came with slightly sweet whipped cream. The service at Lone Pine is exceptional. They pay attention to detail here, and all of the little things are taken care of. Our server gave us just enough time between courses. Our water was refilled unobtrusively. We didn't get asked whether we've dined there before (because who cares?) and the menu wasn't over-explained (thank goodness, because I can indeed read). One thing we also noticed that we appreciated: The music was just loud enough to hear it, but not loud enough to notice it too much! It's these little things that come together to make a great dining experience.

My first experience at the restaurant was decent, so I figured we would give it another shot. I recall my first meal being a bone-in pork chop that was overly salted. I'll make my review brief. The restaurant was not too busy but our service was fairly slow, two separate drink orders that were requested never made it to the table, the environment was noisy/music too loud, etc. I decided to go with something very basic for my food order. My thought was, "I'll see how good they are at doing something simple." I got the black and burger cooked to the chef's preferred temperature (medium). My burger came out dry/crumbly/crispy/well done. Yikes. The server did offer to provide a complimentary drink while he asked the chef to prepare another burger (a nice gesture). However, the second burger came out raw (see photo). I'm a medium rare steak guy but this was inedible. The fries were very good. I'm not typically someone who is overly critical of restaurants but for the amount of money you're paying for these meals, the food and service should be excellent. My two experiences were fair and poor. This is very unfortunate because I've visited the sister restaurants (Beholder and Milktooth) many times and have had nothing but great experiences at both. Probably the last time I'll go.
