This place seems to be the only place you can really get a smoothie in the area so I decided to check it out. The place was clean and had plenty of seating with easy parking in a strip mall. I had the green goddess smoothie. It tasted like an ice cream almost because it was so rich and creamy, which I did not expect. Listed on the menu are only fruits and vegetables in the smoothie so I expected it to taste much different. The size was generous. They also serve wraps and salads. So tired of receiving orders that are wrong and sloppy. I asked for no bananas. They send me two bowls with banana toppings, NO NUTELLA or Chocolate chips. I called and they do not even care. Looking for a quick dinner on a Saturday night, my wife and I recently stopped in at Empower. The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Rt 46 in Kenvil. This is a relatively small place, but they do have indoor seating. We each ordered items off the Grill menu. My wife had the Cali Chicken Sandwich and I had the Southwest Chicken wrap. The food was not only healthy, but very tasty as well. The sauce on my wrap was very good. The only issue we had was that it was very cold in the restaurant. It does look like they do quite a bit of takeout. I'd give Empower a thumbs up and suggest you give it a try! read more

I went here recently and had the chicken stir fry over a salad which was delicious with every bite. The chicken was cooked just right and the salad was super fresh and cut in small pieces. We were excited to try this place because there isn't a Playa in Roxbury. While the gentleman who works there (owns it- I think) was friendly, the girls behind the counter could definitely use some training in customer service, not friendly at all. We ordered two Acai Bowls that took 20 minutes to make (no exaggeration) there was one person in front of us. In the middle of us ordering, the phone rang and the girl behind the counter stopped helping us, answered the phone and took someone else's full order. Instead of placing them on hold while she finished with us, the customers who were standing in front of her, who she already started helping. The store is clean and we were excited to find a smoothie/bowl/ juice place in town without having to go to Chester, Denville or Rockaway, when we live in Succasunna but waiting 20 minutes for 2 bowls with subpar customer service is more aggravating than driving the few extra miles. It's a shame because they offer juice cleanses and smoothies, had our experience been better we definitely would have been regulars, we go to Playa at least once a week and would go more if it was closer. read more

Do not go to this place now. Been going there for years and the food was always good, but there's some big problems now. The place always had a weird vibe. It was cult-like. It's frequented by body builders and gym rats, of which I am neither. The hygiene seems sketchy. The fruits and vegetables are not being washed properly and the knives don't look clean. The way the preparers handle food is unsafe. The kids who work there are not friendly or cordial and seem like they don't care if you're there at all. I was there today for the last time. When I walked in to pick up an order, there was a very angry and aggressive looking woman in the store with no mask. I left to go out to the car, rather than be in there with someone who was a selfish fool. She then came out and glared at me like she wanted a confrontation. Seemed like a total psycho. I then went back in and asked the kid behind the counter if they were enforcing the wearing of masks. "No, we're not doing that," he said. BEWARE when you order food if you have food allergies make sure you put in the detail you have that! I had an anaphylactic shock from a Cafe mocha and it say lactose free and dairy free on there website so I order it got it delivered and I began drinking it. Immediately I experienced anaphylactic shock and I had to scramble to find my EpiPen I really felt like it was the end I did not know what to do luckily I found it barely able to breathe.
