We recently had our home painted by Empower Painting LLC and couldn't be happier with the results. Jose, the owner and his crew started the preparation by power washing the house and then began preparing after waiting a day for the house to dry. They caulked all doors, windows and seams, counter sunk all protruding nails, filled the holes with a product like bond and then sanding them to smooth. They power screwed loose boards and pounded in all nails, sprayed rust-proofing primer to cover nail heads and other areas of rust, covered all glass surfaces with plastic film, masked off the foundation and other small areas that were not to be painted, covered all shrubs, paving stones along with taking off the light fixtures and at the end of the job installing new ones. Where there were areas that had peeling paint that exposed lead paint, the paint had to come off, so they laid out plastic per the EPA guidelines and used Smart Strip to remove all the lead paint down to raw wood and primed, filled in damaged areas with bondo and then sanded until smooth. The siding on the house was lightly sanded either by hand or palm sander to make them smooth. They sprayed 2 coats of heavy body latex paint, painted accent color and trim, along with our three doors, our patio floor and front foundation. Every color we used, five in all had two coats even the exposed gas meter had a camouflage paint mixture to blend in with our used brick. The crews of three did an outstanding job, were prompt, professional, friendly, and very tidy, cleaned up and hauled away any trash every night too. They took their job very serious and were always ready to answer any questions we might have as they worked. Jose even helped us when we were undecided about a color choice, replaced a board on our patio and repaired a side door on our garage, going the extra mile to pick up the materials on his own. Jose and his professional crew painted our home here in Oregon City last week. We have cedar siding and it had been neglected for several years. We had never caulked around our windows and doors and several cracks in the cedar siding were prominent. Jose and his guys filled all the cracks, sealed around our doors and windows and sanded our fascia boards, then filled the holes. They also painted our two 10X12 storage sheds as well as our patio canopy framing, which had to be brush painted by hand. These guys worked their hearts out. They did about 1 & 1/2 days preparation and another day to paint. They sprayed the house, then rolled a 2nd coat on, which really forced it into the wood siding. They even painted our concrete foundation with special paint. They did an excellent job cleaning up and they used numerous tarps to catch any paint or chips. We intend to call Jose again later this year to estimate the interior painting of our home. They did such a fantastic job on the exterior, we know they'd do a good job on the inside, too. We've had several favorable comments from neighbors telling us how beautiful our home now looks. That tends to make it all worthwhile. Jose's told my wife the favorite part of painting is "getting the check". I can testify it's not the quality of his work. He was hard to get ahold of and would show up late. He painted some doors, moldings, wainscoting and stairs in my home. There is texture all over them. I expected the paint to be smooth. Jose said that was the best that he could do for the price he charged. He's the one that gave us a bid and we agreed to the price. He was willing to correct some of the problems on the stairs but refused to correct any problems that occurred from lack of paint when spraying on the wainscoting and other areas. He claimed he was losing money, he hadn't charged enough for that quality of work. He never told us there was different pricing for different quality. I even had a rep from the paint store look at it and he said it was due to lack of paint and the way he lifted his gun. read more

Jose and his crew were such professionals. We hired them for the exterior painting of our house. Their prep work made all the difference between a good job and a great job- and theirs was great! They were very thorough with pressure washing and masking off windows, etc. Additionally, they replaced a rotted facia board near the roofline, an exterior door and lockset, and installed all the new outdoor porch, garage and deck lights. Very skilled group of men, and very friendly & courteous! Jose was also very helpful with his expertise when we were deciding upon house & trim colors. Finally, we must commend and admire them as they painted our home during the horrible heatwave this past summer- unbelievable! Jose and his staff are truly wonderful. We hired them to paint the entire inside of our home - ceilings and walls in every room and bathroom. They were flexible with scheduling, and did great, quality work. My husband and I own a 1908 farmhouse that was remodeled in the 1990's with cheap molding that didn't match the time period of the house and a poor paint job. Jose painted my stairwell in my home. I don't know how tall it really is, but it has to be 12-14 feet high. I don't know about you, but I had no desire to work with those heights.
