Stefanie was our doula and she went with us from the Atlanta Birth Center to the Medical Center. We had a 50 hour labor from start to finish and she was there for the entire labor. We had a great labor experience with Stefanie and I am looking forward to recommending her to everyone I know in the Atlanta area. I think I would have tapped out at around 24 hour mark if it was not for her comfort and support during labor. I highly recommend this doula team. The best news is that the office is attached to AMC and is less than a mile from our residence. That definitely sweetened the deal for us, too. The team at Intown is awesome. They do an amazing job of balancing incoming families and make everyone feel so welcome. Their team is made up of five different practitioners and each visit is with a different midwife. They are all very kind and have different personalities, but their level of professionalism is all the same. Huge high-five to Lindley who made us feel really comfortable on our first visit. She was just the best. So far, we've only visited twice and my wife had her labs done, general checkup, heard our baby's heartbeat, and we have also done a few of the group discussions. The group sessions are really nice and can give some great insight. For us, they have been really cool and comforting with this being our first go at bringing another human into the world. I'll definitely update my review in the coming months. Really happy to be in the kind care of these folks!

Lucky as I was to have escaped most of the trauma that many women face in hospitals and institutions of the like, I felt this journey would be like any other home birth... and then I met Debbie. From the first seconds, she embraced what made me offensive to others. She strengthened what I questioned in myself and my own abilities, and she validated me as a mother; a good, strong, smart mother. She supported dreams that others said I may have to sacrifice or give up on. She taught me how to trust my body when everyone else has made me fear that it is broken. Most of all, she was real, she was present, and she was a source of strength and comfort and support for me that was unlike any other that I have ever had in my life. I could never adequately articulate how important and precious and crucial her love and support was to me, not just in birth, but in the entire journey and the avenues it took even outside of what she signed up to help me with. From the first day, she made herself available to me for anything, at any time. You cannot put a price on that, but, if you could, it would certainly be more than what she charges. Her honesty is kind and grounding. Her wisdom is deep, vast, and comforting. Her heart is bigger than the universe that tries to contain it. She was someone and something I needed, not just for the birth of my third and last baby, but, a love and strength that I had yet to encounter in my life and I feel God brought me to her for that reason. She gave me a kindness and love and inspiration that only comes from the likes of a mother - and I've never had that. Her care filled voids and healed wounds that I didn't know I still had. Debbie and Amanda were the candles I was fortunate enough to be able to light, amidst a storm that took my entire mental and physical grid out for months. They kept my head above water and when the light at the end of that tunnel finally started to emerge, they held me up by reminding me of my own strength, marched me forward by teaching me how to trust MYSELF, and they came running in the middle of the night after having had no sleep from a previous birth and still gave me SO much of their time, attention, and love. I was cared for in a way I have never been before. They motivated me to stay strong and have the birth I wanted when I was tired and my will started to shake a little. They caught our sweet Kyrie girl in their wise and precious hands, and then Amanda took her time and allowed my elder two children to meet and hold their sibling while Debbie helped me shower, dried me off, and helped me to bed. They hand-fed me and made sure I was hydrated, they did everything in their power to make me comfortable and safe and confident before leaving me to snuggle my sweet newborn - in my own bed, in my own home, with my own food and my family surrounding me. They then came back the very next day, with not much more sleep than before, to check on us and ease any worries or concerns that I had. The way Debbie puts the mental and physical health of her clients above even her own needs, at times, is invaluable and I feel so blessed to have had our paths cross and to have been able to choose her for this baby. There is a love in my soul for her that will last lifetimes beyond my own. She gave me the home birth I have wanted since the first time, but, she also gave me the gift of showing me how to become aware of and grow into the woman that I am, when I've spent pretty much my whole life sort of doubting my strength and instincts and capabilities. We all love you SO much, and thank you for a stable pregnancy and a successful home birth. You have the BIGGEST piece of my heart and soul, forever.

I found her on Yelp and she was my savings grace. Always on time, upbeat, and encouraging me to sit down, relax, go nap/shower and offering me help. Upon first meeting we hit it off so well but I'm a slight introvert so her first time arriving to my home to help I was nervous and didn't really know what to expect but sure enough she showed up with a smile and some comfort for me and my kiddos. Day 1 she came with some toy dinosaurs for my older (2yo) to play with- I thought it was the sweetest gesture to think of him. We interviewed a few doulas and decided to work with Melissa because she brought the most experience and professionalism to the job. Not only was she able to bring her extensive knowledge of pregnancy and birthing to all of my questions, she also, when appropriate, could chime in with her personal experience as a mother. While I was pregnant and after my son was born, Melissa was always available to answer any questions and address my many worries as they came up. What I have really valued was that she was proactive- she would reach out frequently just to make sure things were going ok. This was especially helpful in the weeks after birth as I was struggling with breastfeeding and being a new mom in general, and Melissa was able to be a sounding board for all of my concerns. I always know that I can reach out to her with seemingly trivial questions and have her validate my concerns, listen, suggest solutions, or provide additional information. Finally, Melissa was wonderful during the birth! When things started to go off plan, Melissa helped me think through and feel comfortable with what was happening. During the labor, I will never forget Melissa's cool hands and soothing words swooping in to calm both me and my husband. Somehow, in the middle of helping me labor, she was also able to take pictures on her phone of the whole birth, and the first moments of our son's life, that we will cherish forever. After the birth, she was there to help me breastfeed for the first time and stayed with us until we were ready to go to the recovery room. I recommend Melissa to anyone who is looking for a doula!
