During delivery, Jessica was my advocate, ensuring that my birth preferences were respected and helping me navigate any unexpected challenges with grace and confidence. Her expertise in labor support techniques, such as massage and positioning, was invaluable in helping me cope with contractions and progress through labor and much much more (even feeding me ice when needed). Even after the birth of my baby, Jessica and Emily continued to provide invaluable support, offering postpartum care and guidance as I adjusted to life with a newborn. Their genuine care and dedication to their clients is truly remarkable, and I feel incredibly grateful to have had both of them by my side throughout my pregnancy and birth journey. Emily SAVED the day for us, stepping in when our doula AND her back-up doula were both unavailable for my delivery. I was very anxious about childbirth, being a) a first-time mom; b) high risk (45 years old); c) a person with a SUPER low tolerance for pain; AND d) having had to endure the trauma of 6 previous losses. I really needed a wise, compassionate support person (aside from my husband) to help shepherd us through all the decisions, the unknowns, etc. Emily graciously came to us well before I was in active labor as she sensed that we were in need of some guidance and love. She arrived at 6:00 am, and stayed with us until our son was born over 24 hours later. She calmly explained our options to us, each time the doctor and nurses presented us with choice points (break waters?, get epidural now?, etc.). She helped us understand what was going on with baby's heart rate, my body, etc. She stayed by my side the whole time, so that if my husband needed to step out he could. She was warm, patient, loving, and wise. I felt totally confident in her care. At one point, when I was almost ready to give up and ask for a C-section, Emily helped me dig really deep into reserved of strength I didn't know that I had. If it hadn't been for her, I am not sure I would've persevered. She also is the one who suggested the position I ultimately remained in for the pushing part of labor-- a position I am not sure the doctor and nurses would've come up with. So her expertise and creativity there were indispensable. Emily also kept copious notes for us AND took pictures-- both of which I am so thankful for now! And lastly, Emily was just the right balance of involved and present-- without being in any way overbearing or TOO "there", as to encroach upon your big, special, momentous day (which is something I had reservations about when first deciding to use a doula). Colleen was our birth doula for our first child and while I was sad to hear that she had stopped attending births herself, I knew that she would have an amazing team of doulas and felt confident choosing Two Doulas & You for our birth and postpartum needs. Emily and Sara were amazing leading up to the birth of our son and were available via email and text to answer any questions and help calm my fears around my second birth experience. I also loved the idea of having two doulas in case my second birth went long (my first birth was almost 48 hours). Emily attended our birth - which went much faster this time at only 12 hours (6 in the hospital) - and she was amazing. She offered great support for me and my husband, gently reminding us of coping measures and offering encouragement when I was ready to throw in the towel. I truly believe that without their support, I would not have achieved my goal of a non-medicated birth. I also hired Colleen and Emily to provide postpartum services and they were both lifesavers! They offered support and encouragement to help me establish breastfeeding and referred me to Breastfeed Atlanta when I was having trouble in the early days. Some days, all I had them do was hold the baby so I could rest or shower - which might seem so simple, but it meant everything to me and was so needed I the first month navigating being a mother of two. Colleen & Emily are incredibly approachable, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and skilled. After choosing to go with this amazing team for my prep, delivery/birth, & postpartum care, I had an immediate sense of peace. I knew that I was in good hands - that this birth experience was something I was in control of, unlike my previous birth experience. Leading up to the delivery of my 2nd baby girl, they helped our family think through the answers to questions we had, and raised items to think through that hadn't even crossed my mind yet, my pregnancy fog being what it was. They supported us as we planned for how to anticipate another birth while being responsible for her older sister who was just a toddler at the time. Resources were provided to us - both to ensure we were as prepared as possible, but also including items and tools they had available to support the birth process when it came time. I was empowered. I was ready. And I was then able to be truly, simply excited. My natural birth went just as I'd hoped with their presence, advocacy, and encouragement. But I had the peace of mind that even if it hadn't, they were there to guide us, as a partner, through any challenges that could arise and bring us safely through it. I was referred to Emily by a friend and was so excited to learn more that I reached out to Emily before I was even pregnant with the hopes of booking her right away once I was. We had a great consult and planned to stay in touch. Months later, Emily followed up with me to see how TTC was going and even dropped off a book for me at my house! Throughout my pregnancy, it was great to bounce questions off of Emily and Jessica and have that support. I love that they do an in-person meeting at 36 weeks so that we could all really get to know each other and plan for the big day. For my actual labor, I truly cannot imagine going through it all without Emily and Jessica - their support was invaluable! They were hands-on helping me through contractions, giving my husband a break so he could take some power naps (this itself was worth the money for us haha) and generally created a calming and peaceful presence. Having a doula in the room at all times provided so much consistency and relief during what turned out to be a rollercoaster of a labor experience for us. After our experience, I immediately referred Two Doulas and You to my brother and pregnant SIL - I told him they were worth their weight in gold as they truly are. Our experience with Two Doulas and You, namely Emily and Jessica, was nothing short of incredible. My husband and I both would and have recommended them to every single one of our friends and family members who are expecting. They take the time to truly get to know you and your significant other- from what you are envisioning, greatest fears, biggest wishes and everything in between as it relates to not only your pregnancy and birth, but how you process things and learn best. They were an integral part to pregnancy, birth (cannot even begin to imagine that induction process without Emily and Jessica!), AND postpartum. They are truly like family, genuinely enjoy getting updates about our sweet boy, and when they came for the postpartum visits, it was like chatting with a friend who understood exactly everything we went through during birth and was a safe place to debrief and reflect to. They helped tremendously with the birthing process and my husband feels just as passionately about their involvement as I do because they help dads' emotionally just by their presence and knowledge more than they may ever realize! I am currently 36 weeks pregnant with my first child and I decided to take the Lactation Basics class with Colleen. This was my second experience with her since I also took the Birth From Within class. I will just say that the passion, dedication, and experience that Colleen has for these classes are obvious and contagious. Classes were virtual, and often that might represent an obstacle, especially in a class setting. However, Colleen was always able to be communicative, efficient, engaging, informative, and extremely kind, open minded, and precise in the info she provided. After class, she also provided handouts and informative material to keep handy, which I really appreciated. Also, she made herself available if the beginning of the lactation journey won't be as smooth as expected, which I found very generous of her. During the class, she is very good at making participants comfortable and making them do all kind of exercises. I guess, she is just the perfect balance between kindness, professionalism, and determination. I learned a lot about labor and breast feeding thank to her classes. Def recommended. We met Colleen somewhat by chance after our first child was born. The postpartum doula we had hired had a family emergency and needed to move away. Colleen was a light in our life during that time. She gave us some much needed rest and helped me make some real breakthroughs in breastfeeding. She was a wonderful calming presence in our home. When our second pregnancy was underway, we immediately reached out to Colleen and set things up to have her as our birth doula. (Months pass) I think she'd been awake working for about 24 hours when we called her at 2am to let her know the baby was coming, but she didn't let it show. She was wonderfully supportive and caring. She answered all of our questions, set up some amazing lighting, and helped us with our music and Hypnobabies, just as we'd planned. All in all, she contributed to the calm, relaxed, beautiful energy of what was to become a beautiful birth experience. We would use Colleen again in a heartbeat, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to friends and family. read more

We had our first child about 2 and half months ago, and I am convinced we would have likely not met my birth goals without the support and expertise of our doula team. Bella and Lisa were personable, professional, and caring right from the start. They helped my husband and me get on the same page when he initially had doubts about my birth plan, and after our delivery, he raved about how wonderful Bella was: "She was the MVP!" With Bella present, I was able to achieve my goal of having an unmedicated birth. She assisted with verbal affirmation, physical positioning, monitoring my fluid intake, guiding my husband on how he could support me, and communicating with the L&D team once we arrived at the hospital. My spouse and I completed a virtual Birthing From Within course with Colleen. We were able to get into the class quickly after our original instructor with a different company canceled our class last minute. Colleen was an amazing teacher! Clearly an expert with years of experience, she is kind, patient, and takes the time to explain concepts and answer questions -- we are first-time parents and had a lot of them! She is very engaging and makes sure that each student/couple in her class is included and actively participating. Colleen provided an excellent foundation for us as we navigate the last few months of pregnancy and prepare for birth - the examples, instructions, materials, and homework have all been extremely beneficial. Colleen was also very conscious of using inclusive and gender-neutral terms and pronouns for parents and partners which made us feel very comfortable in the course. We highly recommend! read more

Working with Bella was an absolute joy and the best decision my partner and I made during the pregnancy. I feel like it was meant to be! I originally planned on and hoped for a spontaneous unmedicated birth and ended up with a long, medically-induced labor and an epidural. Bella helped me to emotionally cope with and process the changes in plan (in addition to helping me physically cope with the pain of labor). She always knew the right thing to say or do to make me feel safe and supported during such a challenging experience. She also helped my husband to support me in a way that made the birth experience (though difficult and different than we had imagined) one of the best experiences of our lives. The amount of time, effort, thoughtful emails sent, time spent together in pre-, during, and postpartum helped to ease my anxiety surrounding labor/birth and prepare me and my partner as best as possible. My husband and I took Colleen's labor and birth class and highly recommend. The information is thorough and covers natural labor as well as cesarean and everything in between. The techniques we practiced in class were incredibly useful in our labor process, and then when our birth plan went out the window due to complications we could calmly make the right decisions to lead us to a birth result that I am very satisfied with. I also really appreciated the spiritual and emotional aspects of the class, which helped my husband and I bond during those stressful last few weeks of pregnancy. My daughter's son was at CHOA . They reached out to Two Doulas & You for night support. They are first time parents and were coming home with a preemie with complications . Overwhelming to say the least. Jennifer is their main doula. She did everything she could to make this transition possible including coordinating across multiple doulas . Even though discharge kept being delayed , Jennifer was flexible and met them at the house the day they were discharged. They've worked with oxygen tanks and other medical equipment so that my daughter and son in law could bring their son home. Sara and Emily are truly amazing. I'm a first time mom and having them on my journey to support not only me but also my husband was so helpful. Due to the pandemic, Sara and Emily were not able to attend the birth in person but they made sure to be available to us by phone throughout our hospital stay. We had a rough time due to c-section and our baby not being able to breastfeed but Sara and Emily provided us with not only resources like lactation consultants and pediatricians but also gave me the emotional support I needed during postpartum recovery. They are both extremely supportive and kind. Having them by my side made my difficult journey much easier. I would absolutely hire them again to be my doulas! read more

I originally contacted Two Doulas & You because I am a first time mom and was pretty terrified of childbirth! My husband and I met with Emily at the end of my 1st trimester, and we loved her! Since we booked her early we had access to so many resources throughout my entire pregnancy! She is incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. Because of Emily my delivery was very peaceful, and I felt incredibly supported. She was able to capture videos and photos that I am sure we would have never gotten without having her there!
