I did taste a lot of good food and some good wine - I'm not a huge sweet wine drinker and most of the wines that were there to sample were on the "too sweet" side for me. The food was really tasty though! I enjoyed the little samples mixed in with the wine. My favorite sample was the first vendor I tasted (I wish I remembered the name of the place) but they had brought chicken, pork, and ribs. I tried them all and the ribs were definitely the best. They had the 1 Cav jazz band out there playing. They were good and it absolutely went with the feel of the festival. The biggest issue I had with this is that they only gave you 5 tasting tickets for the wine... that's 1 ticket per 1oz pour on top of a $25 entrance fee. The wine vendors and the event host(s) I don't think ironed out exactly what they were going to do. Many vendors told me that I could buy more tasting tickets but this was not true. You could buy samples directly from the vendors. I think that was a bit confusing for both the guests and the vendors. They advertised a BBQ cookoff however, I didn't see one there. I'm sure they had one but I didn't see anyone cooking. Honestly, it wasn't a well planned out festival. I think perhaps next year they'll do better with some more planning, a better wine tasting plan, and some more signs or an MC or something to tell people where to go for certain events.
