We found out about Fire Oak via a tasting at Specs when we were in there randomly. Liz who was representing Fire Oak, let us know all about the distillery, and we decided to come down and check it out. So glad we did! The owners Guy and Tanya were great company and chatted with us while we had some of their delicious cocktails. Their bourbons are amazing and their hospitality is unmatched. We will return, they often have live music in their spacious outdoor area...and I heard there were zebras to be seen (on a sunnier day than today). Take the windy road down to Fire Oak, you won't regret it!

Loved the people, the fabulous cocktails! I'm a bourbon drinker. Enjoyed the Old Fashion.

Located in the countryside of…read morecentral Texas and surrounded by farmland, the natural setting gives the place a cozy, homey feel. The owners, a friendly husband-and-wife team, are wonderful to meet and greet you with a warm welcome. The whiskey experience here is pure Texas style, with a fantastic selection of house-made options. You can't go wrong trying any of their offerings. They also provide samples if you want to explore their variety before committing. The menu features classic bar food, including hamburgers and pizza--simple but satisfying. While I was there, they didn't have live entertainment, but they do regularly advertise performances on their Facebook page. In fact, they mentioned there would be live entertainment later that evening at 6 p.m., which was a bit of a disappointment since I couldn't stay. Their food is all made in house and very delicious!! I had the Texas Ranch Style burger with fries. The burger was very flavorful and I am glad I added jalapeños. In addition to whiskey, they also brew their own beer, which I didn't get a chance to try but will definitely check out on my next visit. They even offer tours upon request, depending on availability, which adds another layer of fun to the experience. They also sell meat products here. You can either buy from the freezer inside or by the box. Prices are listed on the menu. If you're looking for a great place to unwind with a drink and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere, this spot is worth a visit!

There was music to go with the vast selection of cocktails. They even have tastings scheduled that you can jump on to while you are hanging out. The hints of sweet & spice hit just right! This is a small batch distillery and in addition to whiskey they also make rum, gin, and vodka. The distillery sits on 15 acres so there's ample space for large groups. Like most places of its type in hill country, they've got food trucks, live music, play areas for kids and they're dog-friendly. They've even got a bocce ball setup as well as other games of that sort. The tasting room is modern rustic, farmhouse-country chic and it's also pretty spacious. The craft cocktails are out of this world. My favorite is the espresso martini made with Hotscotch. Seriously one of the best drinks ever. My boyfriend really loved the old fashioned. It's made with Hotscotch & bourbon. Super nice folks working at Iron Wolf. So knowledgeable and seemingly love to be there. Vibes like nobody's business.

It's definitely a destination, in the sense that you're not going to just stumble across it on your next walk. I happen to love this vibe. The crowd skews a bit older, despite the fact that cocktails range from $8 - 10. When I went, it was chill, and a big country band was out jamming on the gazebo. There's also a smaller stage indoors. They brew/distill everything on sight and I've been told there are sporadic tours, which I really want in on. Hopefully those start up again soon! I know I'll be back for a bottle of whiskey, regardless.

They have 2 rooms with a lot of seating, and an outdoor stage where the band was performing. I really enjoyed the band, and they drew a good sized crowd. I enjoyed my drinks. I forgot to take a picture of the last one, the Mango Volcano, made with chipotle rum, and it was my favorite. The drinks are well made and reasonably priced which I loved. Everyone at the bar was very friendly. I do wish there had been a little more outdoor seating, but it looked like they were repairing some of their picnic tables. The location and band made for a fun Friday night. Link to the band's website: http://www.bookthecovers.com
