We've tried so many group swim classes over the years at various rec centers, and nothing really…read morestuck--until we found Ms. Carol. In just five consecutive days, my kids made more progress than they've made in years! My son went from plugging his nose just to go underwater to gliding confidently and even jumping off the diving board -- no floaties and no nose plugging! My daughter Olivia mastered gliding and incorporated arms for the freestyle. It was amazing to watch. Ms. Carol is incredibly encouraging and skilled. She teaches out of her own heated pool, and her approach is direct and effective. She's the best swim teacher around. If you want real progress and a positive experience for your child, give her one two-week session -- they will swim! This was a summer bucket list win!

My daughter had taken a few other swim lessons elsewhere so she was very comfortable in the water and going under. I think this was a large contributing factor to our swim success as Ms Carole did not need to spend that time trying to get her comfortable with going under - and we could focus more on honing her skillset. One call out for new parents is that we are asked to leave the lesson. I hung out in the driveway and could still hear everything during the lesson. My recommendation would be if you have a child who is always looking to you for direction - its best to leave so they can focus on what Ms Carole is saying instead. You can always check out the last 5 minutes of the lesson - but I found it helpful to remove myself from distractions. We were really pleased with the progress we made over the summer and my 4 y/o daughter can successfully jump in the water and make it back to the edge from the deep-end.

Since the first thing they do is whack you with a $200 sign up fee, I'm going to whack them first…read morething in this review with how awful that is. But I guess it keeps the riff-raff out, and none of us want that. Also, I don't know why there are kids there, but a handful of times there have been young boys in the locker room goofing off. They are weird, noisy and annoying. But, the gym is very nice, clean and I'm happy there. Haven't tried the pool but it looks awesome. I mostly do strength training and cardio here and it's pretty solid for that. Occasionally you wait for a machine or a bench like any other gym, but overall pleasant experience.

I enjoy that you can tune into several TVs while you work out if you bring headphones, and it is nice to be offered a towel instead of having to bring my own. As others mentioned it is crowded during times you would expect (4-7pm "rush hour"). The classes are pretty good, lots of variety and depending on the spin instructor, downright rigorous. Classes vary in difficulty from instructor to instructor rather than across the type of class itself, so if you like a class but it is too hard or easy, just try another night. Personal training is also reasonable and I have enjoyed working with Alison (~$330 for 6 sessions, I believe ). Finally, it is nice that the pool is salt water instead of chlorine and the locker rooms have a few nice touches like swimsuit dryers.
