Izzy still gets five (5) stars because she is still great! After last night and the previous visit, I wish she worked somewhere else. I am a regular, Izzy is wonderful, her work and demeanor. Last time I went for my pedicure, two of the male technicians were very rude and disrespectful. While I waited for Izzy, one walked up to me and rudely asked are you being helped, and when I said I am waiting for Izzy, he just stormed away. At the end of my service, I was sitting in a chair drying out, Izzy said it was ok to sit and wait there, when Tyson, allegedly a manager, walked over and rudely asked me to move because they need the chair. It was how he addressed and said it to me, of course they can have the chair, but the way he addressed me was rude and disrespectful. But I wasn't going to let him rain on my parade, my toes were fabulous, so I figured first time something happens here, I will let it be. Last night, I went to get my pedicure, and was waiting for Izzy. she was busy, and the salon was busy. There were no pedicure chairs available, when one became available, after I had been waiting for 30 minutes, Tyson put his customer in it, his customer came way after me, of course while ignoring me all along. Fine, no problem! I watched him as he hustled and hurried working three customers at the same time, did two mani's while someone waited for a pedi. He runs around the place in a frantic stressed way, screaming at the other workers in his native language (it reminded me of Seinfeld when Julia Dreyfus had the incident at the nail salon). He told one of his three he was expecting a Baby, loud, maybe that is the cause of stress or maybe he is accustomed to treating women badly, not sure. If the owner, or real management reads the reviews, this is to you-you have a decent place, a good worker-Izzy, why have someone like that ruin the atmosphere, and create a hostile environment where a relaxing soothing one should exist? Brings bad Karma! Think about it, you should speak to Tyson, your Manager, or maybe being a manager if he really is one, is just too much for the man? I've been coming to Enchanted Nails for years now and it's still my top choice in the area, so I'm updating my review to reflect that. Over the years, I've tried quite a few places throughout the DC metro area and after those experiences, I'm still always comparing it to the service and attention I receive here. The nail technicians are always the sweetest. They never rush you while you're picking out your colors and they always are quick to ask if you'd like any water, tea, wine or champagne. (There are even cookies in a little cookie jar if you have a craving for sweets.) Also, one of the reasons why I love this place is there two week, chip free guarantee on their gel manicures. If at anytime in two weeks your polish chips (not your actual nail) they will happily fix it for free. They even provide you with a slip when you're paying with the date, name of the nail technician as well as the color so that everyone is on the same page. Luckily, I've never had to return to use it because the application is typically flawless and I really only need to return because the manicure has grown out. Plus, they also have recently made renovations, so there are brand new pedicure chairs, tables and other accents to make the space a little more special. So although I've never lived at a location where it was all that convenient for me, I'll happily continue to schlep across town for quality service. read more

I took a huge gamble and booked my nail appointment for the morning before my wedding without ever going here before. Based on earlier reviews, I requested Yuri for her expertise. I was able to make a very last minute appointment online at like 5 pm the night before for a 10 am Friday appointment next day which is unheard of in DC. Yuri looked at my Pinterest inspiration for my nails and went above and beyond and completely killed it with my wedding nails. I got gel extensions with a variation on a French tip design and then an art design on my ring finger and extra glitter on all fingers and she knew exactly what to do after looking at the photo a few times. She shaped my nails exactly as I asked. When she was finished I almost cried at how happy I was with the result and how she even exceeded my Pinterest dreams! I came in with gel polish on and even removing that was done so quickly and efficiently. I was in and out in 1 hour 15 total with all I had done that was super fast. Located in the heart of Adam Morgan, I ventured into the place because of its rave reviews on yelp...it did not disappoint. I was taken up right away as the place was not very busy. Though they welcome walk-ins, the recommend reservations. They start you off with a complimentary beverage while directing you to your pedicure. The massage chairs set up for the pedicure session are AMAZING....From massaging your neck, shoulder, back and butt (WHAT???...oh yes!) this chair takes you to a place of bliss. I was constantly dozing off while getting the pedi...wish I could take one of these chairs home. My nail tech was stellar..I can honestly say that my experience was great mainly because of her. She took her time thru every step of the manicure & pedicure. examining each nail almost as if under the microscope before moving to the next. Never before has a nail tech paid so much attention to each stroke of the brush while putting the nail color. My mani/pedi are perfect!! The entire experience was calming and relaxing because the staff never hasten the pace. Not once did I feel rushed and I didn't see the other clients in the salon being rushed either. I've been going to Enchanted for seven years now. It is an excellent, family owned business. I just went back today after several LONG months due to Covid. I was super impressed with all the measures they took for safety. Only 5 clients are allowed in at a time, they take your temp and provide hand sanitizer before you come in. My SNS nails lasted a good two weeks before I removed the polish. My daughter had regular polish that started coming off within 2 hours of getting them done. I was so impressed with Enchanted's approach to reopening during COVID - they are taking all the precautions! As other reviewers have mentioned, they are currently appt only (tho you can usually get an immediate appt!), taking temp checks at the door, limiting the number of people inside, requiring waivers with phone numbers for contact tracing, sanitizing the station and everything you/they touch, barriers between you and the technician at all times, clients are at least 8+ ft apart it seemed, requiring masks, and using lots of hand sanitizer. I literally couldn't imagine them doing anything more to ensure client and technician safety. Besides the amazing COVID precautions, they are also the best nail salon!! My mani/pedis are always great and last forever (3 weeks for my gels). The have all the colors you could ever want neatly organized and they also recently remodeled so the salon itself looks fab! The owners and staff are the sweetest people who really care about their clients, staff, and reputation. They also have cash-based discounts (so hit the ATM first) and very reasonable prices. Enchanted is doing an awesome job with Covid precautions right now. I went in a couple of weeks after they first opened and they are appointment only, take a temp check at the door, have you sign a waiver that you aren't experiencing symptoms and haven't been exposed to the virus, all before you walk inside. They keep customers distanced at least 6 apart and limit the amount of customers inside at once (there was only one other person there when I visited). They're keeping everything absolutely immaculate with plastic shields in between you and your nail tech for both pedicures and manicures at all times, and disposable tools that are only used on you, nobody else. I missed having my nails done during quarantine and Enchanted managed to do a beautiful job while making me feel safe. Highly recommend for a little bit of pandemic self care. :) read more

I have been going to this salon off and on for pedicures. The first time I went a month back for the first time since the pandemic, the guy did a good job and used freshly sanitized tools. Today, the woman did not and I had to keep asking her to use fresh tools. I wasn't paying attention at first and I don't think that the nail clipper and cuticle cutter she used was sanitized. When she started to use a buffer just lying in her damp and disorganized cart (obviously used), I said something again and then she got a fresh set. I was already feeling a bit wary at the is point. Finally, she used a set of toe separators (again, already opened) on me but I figured since I have already told her multiple times, they must be unused. When I was done, she removed them and I watched her closely to see what she would do with them as I l paid. As feared, she put them back in the same part of her cart where she got them. I was shocked and disgusted they would do that. When I said something to the owner, he said something to the woman who made a huge fuss about going through the trash and said she threw them away when she clearly didn't. If I end up with foot or nail fungus, I will be so pissed. It is really disappointing since this nail salon is close to me and I have gone there off and on over the years. Never again! read more

I moved to this area about 6 months ago.... So I found this salon because I needed a rush pedicure on a Sunday! They opened at 9. Everyone seemed nice enough... offering water or tea. I had Jay. The service was good and of course because I needed a rush job, I got gel. Something about the way jay painted my nails, he didn't go all the way up to the cuticles. As a result, my pedicure looks old already. $56 down the drain. Now i'm going to need to find a new salon to do another gel pedicure in about a week... not the two to three weeks I can normally make this last. I went on a recommendation from a co-worker while I was in DC for two weeks for work. I was glad they were able to squeeze me in for a regular pedi and a gel mani, it was a great experience overall: clean, good technique, free champagne and great color selection. I'm not the easiest when it comes to pedicures because I'm a dance teacher and my feet can get bad! I paid extra for callus treatment and paraffin treatment-- worth it! I travel a lot for work and have had manicures on every continent but Antarctica. So admittedly I'm really picky. I was excited to try Enchanted because of its rave reviews advertised in its windows -- plus I live in the neighborhood, and everytime I walk passed the chairs there are full. That's generally a great sign but I wish I done a little more digging? I've been through Enchanted a couple times and I've been only been blown away once. Once, a very professional gentleman repaired a broken nail with a brilliant technique I've never seen before. He warned me that it wasn't a permanent fix -- and he was right, it broke again a few days later -- but I really appreciated that he worked with me to try to find a solution with a few different methods. I walked out of the store is super happy customer. However however I've visited two other times (shame on me, I guess) and had pretty terrible experiences. Once I asked for a yellow polish and the nail tech told me in some mildly racist terms that the tone wouldn't look good with my skin and was better suited for a woman of a different race. If we were friends or had previous rapport it would be one thing but this was a complete stranger and I really didn't appreciate her unsolicited critique on a color that I had selected intentionally. She also totally ignored that my headphones were half in and I wanted to listen to my podcast and insisted on making raunchy smalltalk throughout the manicure. She assured me that it was OK because her husband was black. The manicure itself was fine but the service experience left me with a lot to desire. Still I returned one more time and was excited to try SNS for the first time. I usually get gel. The SNS tech was super sweet but I've never BLED more during a manicure. She was completely insensitive to the pain I was experiencing and tried to hush me when I gasped out or tried to flag someone that this experience wasn't going well. At the end she told me that she was going to give me a discount, but the discount ended up bringing the total price to originally advertised price-- so she was going to UPCHARGE me for maiming me!!! I always always tip even when the service leaves something to be desired because I know the workers don't always make as much as they should. But there was absolutely no way for me to walk out and give that woman more money than had been advertised for a service that left me literally DRIPPING BLOOD from my cuticles and wincing in pain. There are also two sweet little dogs that poke around. A Maltese and a shitzu, I believe names "Opi" and "Essie." They do a little sniffing but they were so well behaved and SO sweet.
