Came in as a walk-in and came under the impression that they do nail art/design, which is the whole reason why I came here in the first place. Before signing in, that was the first thing I asked and the person at the front had said that they do not do art designs. I was disappointed because either the person who does do nail designs had left, or they just did not want to spare the time to do so. But I had walked there and I wasn't about to walk out and travel back to get nothing done. Since I couldn't get nail designs I thought I would splurge a little on a spa pedicure and picked the pomegranate scrub pedicure (i think that's what it was called) and since I was a little pressed for time, I had my nails and pedicure done at the same time. In the beginning of my appointment, the person who was going to do my mani/pedi, kept on stopping and starting and walking around while answering phones. I'm a very tolerant and patient person, so I reasoned in my mind that something must've happened or they are just short on staff. While he was doing his business, he had someone else takeover my mani/pedi. Again, I'm understanding and won't put up a hissy fit, but during that time, already 15 mins had passed before someone had come to take over. It just would've been nice to be taken care of much earlier than wondering if he's ever coming back and not have to keep watch of the clock. But overall, my mani/pedi went great. It was kind of nice getting my mani done at the same time my pedi was taken care of. Felt kind of royal, haha! One star off, because of going back and forth on starting and a bit of a delay. Other than that, my manicure withstood for longer than I had expected. I do lots of activities and would chip or ware a nail by now, but it suprisingly withstood a lot of bullying throughout my daily routine. Doubt that I would be able to become a regular because of the distance that I have to go to get there, but would encourage others to try it out for themselves. read more

I went to this spa to get a manicure for a big day and I was looking for a particular nail polish I found online. The nail shop looks very nice and they do offer refreshments, HOWEVER, when I got the no chip nail polish guarantee it fell short of the guarantee. They were not nice about keeping the guarantee. I went there expecting to be greeted with more good service but instead I was greeted with a horrible customer service. The lady argued with me about fixing my nails and then did a horrible job. To top that, all of the nail technicians came over to me and were looking at me and my nails in the rudest way. I paid extra for a design and they refused to re-due those nails but proceeded to fill in where the nail polish chipped with color. I am sure this place shouldn't be worrying about a five cent design. I paid $6 extra for the special nail polish only to be able to buy that same nail polish for $6 online with free shipping. The lady left my skin dried out from the acetone and my repainted nails have already chipped before six hours passed. I am very big on customer service, and getting my nails done. I will never go back to this nail shop. They were rude and for the money you pay that is absolutely unacceptable. Do not waste your time with this shop if you like your nails done correctly. My first response : I don't know who the HELL you think you are talking to! You guys are the rudest people I have ever met in my life! I will definitely post a picture of this six dollar nail polish I bought and the crappy service I received. This is not how you fix a customer complaint! You are the manager and you argue with an unhappy customer? What is going through your mind? I will make it sure that no one I know comes to your shop! You have got to be kidding me! This is a PRIME example for everyone to see that you have horrible customer service! I am a full-time student and my time is money! I cannot just take time out of my hectic schedule so that you can fix something you did wrong! I am a chemistry student, I work, tutor, and I do research on the side. I don't have time to come across town to come and get my nails fix when they shouldn't have chipped in the first place! I would of loved for you to talk to me like this in my face when I was in your shop. You seem very bold online, but where were you to clear this misunderstanding up earlier today? You clearly don't know how to talk to an unhappy customer and should invest in doing so.The nail polish doesn't cost enough for you to be charging $3 per design but I am fine with paying that but the fact you filled in the chips blows me away. You must think you are talking to an idiot! Nail design paint is cheap, so doing a design again to make a customer happy isn't going to break your pocket!. Soooo your safely was in danger because what? Did I threatened you? Noooo that's not it...or is it because I am tall black female? I am appalled by your behavior. If you would of explained the misunderstanding without the attitude you wouldn't have received one too. I'm glad you enjoyed my friend because she didn't like the way you guys handled today either and will not be coming back. I visited Enchanted for the first time on the 18th for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I was very impressed with the service I received. As others have noted, the champagne and mimosas are a very nice touch and my friend and I both found the experience very relaxing. The chairs for the pedis had a great massage as well. It was not the best pedicure I have ever had in terms of the massage to my legs or scrub of my feet, but I think that was because I did not upgrade. I was very happy with the selection of gel colors and how mine has been wearing. As others noted, there is a 14 day guarantee on the gel. Mine is starting to chip very minimally after 10 days, but not enough to be worth going back. I would say its less than my gel from other places have chipped in similar amounts of time and its not very noticeable. The salon itself felt very clean and the staff were attentive. It is not a spa feel, but it is definitely nicer than most of the other nail salons in the area. I will definitely be back. read more

I really enjoy going to Enchanted Nails and Spa. The salon is very clean, the prices are reasonable, and they always offer you champagne when you come in! This is a great salon, however, I am mainly writing this review on John. I have been going to John for about a year and I always call ahead and make an appointment to make sure John is available. I usually do an OPI gel manicure and I really appreciate how he pays attention to detail when he does my nails. John always cuts and files my nails for me and he is always consistent with the shape - every nail looks the same. He is great with gel nails; he has a special trick for how long to keep your nails under the UV light so each layer of polish turns out great. He also makes sure that the polish is not too close to the cuticle or the sides of nails so it does not peel off or chip. My polish always lasts 2-3 weeks without chipping! I recommend him to everyone! read more

I've been to Enchanted Nails twice to get my gel nails and a pedi. I love how they actually last 2 weeks and if they chop before that they will fix them for free!! I love the atmosphere the technicians seem to love their coworkers and they have the cutest little white fluffy dog that is super friendly. He came up to me while I was getting my feet done. I have been living in DC for two years and this is by far the best nail place I have ever been too. My favorite nail technician is Tri! He is so attentive to detail, so thorough and always does an impeccable job. Men and John are also wonderful. Tri recommended the "fit for a queen" pedicure. It is basically an hour and a half of massage on your legs and is amazing!! I also got the 15 minute head, neck and shoulder massage from him which was also fabulous. I will never go to another nail salon and highly recommend this one! read more

I've been cut the past two times I visited this nail shop (today my friend left bleeding as well), so I won't be going back. The nail technicians were both apologetic and at least today I was offered a discounted price but I'm not willing to risk going back a third time. If you are, they have a good color selection, offer complimentary beverages, and have enough chairs and extended hours you can often walk in without a wait. But it's not worth the risk of injury and infection to me. read more

After being a loyal customer for nearly a year, I've been refused service. The technician I used to go to, Paris, is no longer working there, so another technician Tyson informed me that going forward "no one [in the salon] will do my nails." I was given no explanation. I have never been rude, have been prompt or early for my appts. (except one), and I always tip graciously. In fact, I once left the salon to go get my technician that day (Mimi) coffee as a sweet gesture because she mentioned she wanted coffee. Clearly, my business was never valued. I have seen them treat other African-American customers poorly and have read similar complaints on the BBB website. I will be reporting them to the DC Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, DOJ (potential Title II claim), and BBB. I will also be contacting the Washington Post and local news outlets. I really loved this place the first few times I came here. The service was good, the atmosphere friendly and the mani/pedis were high quality! The last few times I've been very disappointed. The people working there rushed me through color selection, cut my nails much shorter than I asked, cut up my cuticles, and did a very sloppy job with the gel paint. I would normally ask for the paint to be fixed, but when the friend I was with asked for that, other nail techs turned around to stare and the woman doing her nails refused to fix a few. This is a new salon, and despite it rapidly filling up on a Friday afternoon, it was a peaceful, relaxing visit. Went for my first time on Sunday night (they're open until 8). It was GREAT, I'm going there from now on. I used to go to Quest down the street on 18th, but won't go there ever again. They were really nice, and gave me free water or champagne. Played great tv, didn't scream at one another while they were giving me a manicure, gave a much better and meticulous manicure than Quest and there were cute puppies to hang out with! This nail salon was great! They were able to accommodate me and were super friendly. The staff was lovely and the environment was very enjoyable. Essie, the salon's dog, is incredibly adorable and made the salon feel more "homey". They were fairly priced and my gel manicure lasted long. I had no trouble whatsoever with chipping, though they do guarantee it for two weeks. The leg massage was nice and there was a vast array of colors to choose from, which is always a plus! I came in on 05/07/14 with a friend of mine that came to visit me in DC. We made appointments, but called back to come in a little earlier. She had a big job interview, and I haven't had a mani-pedi in years. I chose this place because of the good reviews on yelp in regards to the cleanliness and expertise of the nail technicians here. From the moment my friend and I were picking out gel polish we felt as though we were rushed. My technician was more than a little rude and seemed as though she didn't really want to be there. I never got a chance to see my nails until she finished because I had one UV lamp during my gel manicure. I would have preferred the nail polish to go all the way up to my cuticle. I didn't really have time to talk to my friend because when I would turn my head she would just say, "PLEASE be still." in a less-than-friendly tone. When she finished, she smiled and said "Done!". I went to feed the meter for my car, so I paid the older gentleman, and tipped my technician on the receipt (even though I didn't want to). I left my boots and umbrella with my friend & intended to come back for her. When I was bringing my car around she called me and told me that the patrons and one or two technicians were talking about me. She said that she heard someone say "Yeah, she didn't pay.". My friend asked what happened and someone else said "This girl just left and didn't pay. She even left her boots and umbrella!". When my friend asked if it was her friend and insisted that she saw me pay, they said it was someone else. Understandably, I was upset. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome there the entire time & now this happened. Luckily, I asked for a receipt when I paid, so I came back in here and asked if there was a misunderstanding in regards to my payment. I showed the older gentleman my receipt and explained that I just left to pay for parking. One of the patrons just said "Oh, it wasn't you. It was someone else". With that, I just left. I know that there was 1 or 2 women in the salon before my friend and I arrived and it's highly unlikely that it was someone else, because I did leave my boots and umbrella behind. I'm really not sure what the reasoning is behind the treatment that I received here, but I did not enjoy myself, I did not feel like I received the best service, and I regret not paying attention to the recent negative reviews here. I know that if I am paying someone over $60 for a service, I just expect to be respected and not rushed out of a shop. I know efficiency is important, but so is customer service! read more

The technicians were polite, the location is very clean, but my nail tech cut me (I bled!) while trimming my cuticles. The tech who did my eye brow wax was great. I went to Enchanted nails last week and it was great. The staff was very friendly and they really took their time doing my nails. I have been to many nail salons in the city that rush through the process just to get to the next person, not at Enchanted. The spa chairs are super comfy and they had tons of colors to choose from. They also do the gel manicures which I did. The salon itself is open and airy with tons of sunlight coming in. It is one of the few places in DC where I have gotten a gel manicure that has actually lasted as long as it's supposed to; virtually every other place in DC I've tried has resulted in chipped nails within four days. WORST manicure I've ever received. I went to Enchanted last Thursday for a mani and pedi. My pedicure was decent, however my heels were rougher than they were when I went in and a lot of peeling skin was left on my feet. That alone was not enough to compel me to write a Yelp review. I received the WORST manicure I have ever gotten. My cuticles look absolutely horrible. They are thick, haggard and uneven. I didn't notice immediately because my "manicurist" painted over them. The next morning the paint had peeled off (because polish is for nails not cuticles) and I was left with nails that looked like they hadn't been done in months. I showed them to coworkers and friends, all of which agreed. I emailed address listed on the website Monday and have not yet received a response. Attached are pics of my nails taken THREE days after my "manicure". Awful, just awful. The guy was nice. The delivery of service was pleasant but the quality of service was AWFUL. I am seriously so darn impressed with this place, I'm embarrassed that I haven't know about it sooner!! Definitely make an appointment, as they seem to have a strong following- for good reason. They have about 15 pedicure massage chairs and equal if not more manicure stations. They have an impressive selection of both gel and regular polishes to choose from, and being the indecisive person I am I was so happy that they never once made me feel rushed or crazy for hemming and hawing over my options. They serve you unlimited beverages of your choice complimentary as well (wine, champagne, mimosa, water, coffee, etc)- obviously I was sticking to the wine. They were professional and courteous, carried my massive amount of belongings from station to station, and even give you a card at the end with the color you had for future reference!!! Also, for a gel mani and pedicure, WITH WINE COMPLIMENT- only $59. Naturally I left a huge tip. read more

I was originally a fan on Enchanted but as it has grown in popularity, the quality has gone down. The nail polish is old and doesn't last. My last two manicures were uneven and only after leaving did I realize the top coat was only half applied. I would have given Enchanted Nails 4 stars in the past, but they recently raised their price for a fill several times without notification. A fill was only $18 when I started coming here about 4 months ago. Then they raised the price to $22 during my next visit. Still, no big deal. However the last time I went, they charged me $30 for a fill. When I asked why, I was told that they had always charged that price. When I said that wasn't true, she person helping me finally admitted that thay had raised the price. The higher price is annoying when you travel to Adams Morgan for a cheaper price, and be upfront about your price change when someone books an appointment if its significantly higher than what you have charged in the past. read more

I've been reading about how great this place is and was really excited to try it out but it was a big disappointment. First, I called to make an appointment with one specific person who I found online that's a CND specialist, but the owner (assuming) could not understand me. He thought I was talking about a nail polish color so that was a first fail. Once I got there, I still had to wait another 20 mins to get my service started. Since they were busy, the owner started on removing my previous gel but then he left it for like 20mins which couldn't have been good for my nails. The technician who did my nails was pretty good, but the nail polish started to lift way too early. They usually last at least 2 weeks for me but this started after 10 days, even with the same nail polish brand and color. I'm assuming it's because they didn't use the same base cost or top coat to the actual polish I was getting (CND). I didn't think I was that picky but I will not be going back there. Although the pedicures my friend and I got were okay, the customer service at this nail spa needs a lot of improvement. We went in yesterday (10/11) looking for a place to get pedicures with a TV to watch the Nats playoff game, massage chairs and more importantly a place that had late hours. Enchanted had working televisions but we were told that they couldn't put on the game because the owner felt it would distract the technicians (they had Food Network on). Not a biggie so we figured we could get our nails done and then head out. Our pedicures went okay and my friend was happy to sit on the massage chairs. I decided to also get a manicure and my friend requested to sit at her chair longer to wait for me. However, she was turned down and told they needed to clean her chair without any offer to sit at the 10 or so other chairs that were free or did not require cleaning. The biggest failure was the manicure. The hours on the website and on Yelp say 10pm but the technicians started cleaning up a few minutes before 9pm and most were out the door by 9:15. My technician rushed through my manicure without buffing my nails properly and he did a sloppy job putting on the polish. My pedicure was still drying but because they needed to rush us out, they put drying spray and plastic covers on my toes to get us out the door and didn't give me a chance to dry my manicure a little. As soon as the technician finished, he turned off the fans on my hands (he had only finished my manicure a minute before) and started to clean up. We asked again if their hours were until 10 pm but were told the technicians lived out in Virginia and needed time to get home. Go somewhere with better customer service and more reliable hours. Down the block at Cosmo is a better bet. read more

I went to Enchanted Nails earlier this morning as I am here on business. The nail tech who was doing my nails, I don't remember his name but it was one of the guys that work there, was EXTREMELY ROUGH with my hands. So rough that he cut me not once, but TWICE just by filing. It literally felt like he filed my skin off. After he cut me all he did was press on my cut with his DIRTY ASS FINGERS to stop the bleeding. Not only that but I requested acrylic nails which apparently NOONE knows how to do there, and they came out lumpy and un even. I asked for narrow, straight nails that were medium length and I got these 1995 square short nails that are disgusting. I also noticed that they have two dogs that just walk around freely there, to which I saw one of the employees pick up the dog in the middle of doing a pedicure, place the dog on a customer's lap, and then WITHOUT changing their gloves, go right back to the pedicure. EWWW! To top everything off, they didn't offer me any kind of discount for cutting me ($80 for a shitty acrylic set). I will never ever recommend anyone to this place....it's terrible and their customer service is crap. read more

Enchanted Nails is my go-to place for a great mani/pedi in DC. After living here for a year and trying many a nail places (Mimosa, Dupont Nails, Color Nails, Polished, you name it, I've tried it), I think I have finally found a reliable, clean, and fun nail place. I like to get my nails done regularly, so from my personal experience, this place combines all the best things from many of the salons that I have loved: 1. Great nail polish selection (Great brands: Essie, OPI, Zola, etc, Great colors, and all in good condition) 2. Knowledgable staff (Vi is my favorite!!!!) 3. Clean, clean, clean - new set of tools for every customer, you can tell that they take pride in their cleanliness and salon appearance 4. Comfy chairs - nice massage chairs for pedis, etc 5. Quick service - you can walk in, but if you make an appointment, they will make sure to take you on time and get you out of there when you need! 6. GREAT HOURS- this place stays OPEN late!! So no need to rush out of work or skip happy hour, they are open until 10 or 11pm most nights and 8 pm on Sundays. 7. Cold bottles of water offered as soon as you step in for your appointment 8. Great massage with mani and pedis The only teeny tiny thing I don't like is that when you are getting a mani they do ask you to go wash your hands... this is my personal pet peeve of most nail salons... so they still get 5 stars, especially because they have fresh cotton hand towels at the hand washing station and not some dingy bathroom with paper towels. My only advice is to make an appointment if you want to go in on the weekend, the word is out, and this nail salon is popular on the weekends... but not Mimosa cattle herding style, just busy, as you would expect any fabulous nail salon to be. I love this place and I'm so happy to have finally found a reliable nail salon in DC!! read more

The (non- gel) manis & pedis here are mediocre at best. The past several times I've come, my toe & hand polish needed a touch up in as short as two days and my big toe nails have been filed crooked. I try to go early in the week, early in the day. The past several times I've gone, they haven't had anyone available. As in, no one on the premises to do nails. I get it - you don't have a ton of business so you call in an employee if someone shows up. But please don't advertise you're open at a certain hour, and that you take walk ins at said hour, if you're only going to turn around and say I have to wait 20ish minutes (read: 45 minutes in reality). This morning I had a very limited amount of time (an hour) to get a mani pedi. I drove around & found parking in the rain & loaded the meter. Only to be told (once again) so-and-so is sick and I would need to wait 20+ minutes for so-and-so-number-2 to show up. For the time it took me to get situated with parking & have that conversation, I could've been settled & started at another one of the MANY salons in the area. No thank you, Enchanted Nails. Can't say enough good things, I love this place. Definitely the best nail salon I've been to in DC with competitive pricing. Vi and Tang (Ti) are amazing and my favorites but I've never had a bad mani or pedi regardless of who it is. I recently got a bikini wax by Vi and she was awesome. She made me feel comfortable right away, was efficient, very clean, and made it as painless as possible. I've been testing out waxing places to find a good bikini wax and I think she's it! I visited Enchanted Nails & Spa after receiving a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure . The attendant was a male. The pedicure lasted 15 minutes as did the manicure. The attendant informed me that my nails will dry in 10 minutes. An hour and a half (1.5) went by and he NEVER came back to bring closure to the experience. After being frustrated of just sitting I walked over to the cashier and presented my gift certificate . My attendant NEVER acknowledged me as I prepared to leave with the toe dividers still between my toes! I will never return to ENS!! read more
