Service was friendly. The place is clean and the food didn't take too long. It is a bit too noisy. We ordered Enchiladas Michoacanas with Chicken. They are filled with a tiny bit of onion and a sprinkle of crumbled Maxican cheese, served with 2 pieces of deep fried chicken, rice and beans. The enchilada sauce was plain, and sweet to the taste. They were covered with a mix if cabbage and lettuce, and tomato slices. The por plate was tasty but super spicy to me. My husband and I switched plates, but neither one liked the enchiladas.

Summary: Altogether, it was about 1 hour and 40 minutes before we actually got to eat on a Sunday afternoon. Be aware there are no complimentary chips while you wait at your table, so it's a good idea to eat a little beforehand. Parking is available on the side of the restaurant. By the time we arrived, they had already sold out of menudo, morisqueta, and birria (they said before noon), which was disappointing. Food was good, service was good, only downside was the wait time. What we ordered and the rating: Flautas 7/10 Chavindeca 8/10 Enchiladas con bistec 10/10 Enchilada con cecina 9/10 Details: We visited on a Sunday at 3 PM and were told there'd be a 40-minute wait, but we ended up waiting a full hour to be seated. Orders were taken quickly once we sat down, but the food took another 40 minutes to arrive. It felt like there were more waiters than cooks, which may have contributed to the delay. The enchiladas with bistec were the standout--delicious and definitely the best value. I originally ordered mine with cecina, but meet was overcooked/too crispy. When I asked for a change, I was told that's how the dish is usually served, but they did give me a different meat choice when I requested it.

Want a taste of Mexico? Come visit them and taste the quality in their food! I had the chilaquiles with avocado. Soooo delicious! The service was great and fast! Parking in the back is free but usually full and getting out can be tricky, park outside on the Main Street.

Authentic Michoacán Food. This place is a Gem, you won't be disappointed the flavor in every bite is what's up. Cannot wait to come back and try some of the other dishes. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Bombay!

La Ruana was an okay first time eating experience for me. I had been wanting to come for some time because of the hype and seeing the amount of people waiting outside to eat almost always changed my mind but today was the day that I decided to give it a try. We were told the wait time would be about 45 minutes but waited for what seemed an hour. The place is small so it does not hold a lot of seating. When we got in, we where greeted and a server took our drink and food order. They offer a variety of drink options including coffee, sodas, and aguas frescas. I decided to try their agua Fresca of which they had horchata or maracuya (passion fruit). I decided to try their maracuya. It was okay. I thought it was made with real maracuya but it tasted like it was made from powdered fruit mix. It was okay but I was expecting something different. I ordered their chilaquiles rojos con hueco y bistec. I loved the bistec but the chilaquiles were like warm. Some parts were cold which I didn't like but considering that they were cold, they were good. Had they been hot, It would have made for an awesome eating experience. My wife ordered their enchiladas con cecina. They weee good. Cecina is like beef jerky which my wife was not a fan of but I was. It was GOOD. The enchiladas had good flavor and the sauce was good too. They had these spicy but delicious salsa, like a sala macha, that was everything I needed. It made everything taste so good. We did have to wait about 25 to 30 minutes to get our food but it was a busy Sunday afternoon. Besides my chilaquiles being lukewarm, I would recommend La Ruana. I am sure everyone's experience is different and worth the time to check it out. The place is small and parking outside can be hard as their is limited space in the back and street parking can be hard to find.

There's always a line for a reason! At La Ruanas, you are treated like family and their authentic Michoacán flavors are consistently delicious. If it's your first time, I highly recommend trying their popular enchiladas con bistec. The thinly sliced bistec allows for easy slicing over your enchiladas. I'm all about the perfect ratios in every bite; thin sliced bistec over a thin sliced enchilada bite and thin sliced potato. Get it with all the garnishes for an authentic experience. Also, they are awesome with topping off your coffee as you wait for your dish. Their spicy red/orange salsa is spicy and well worth smothering over your potatoes, if you like a good spicy kick. The salsa verde also goes well over their bistec. If you are visiting with a friend, I'd recommend sharing two plates. For example, the enchiladas plate and perhaps their torta of shredded beef. Overall, worth waiting in line for, parking is available in their lot and off the street, and the prices are reasonable. Btw, Chilaquiles are good too!

I wasn't sure what I was going to expect, but get ready to wait for about 45 mins for your food to arrive.. when we arrived every table there was occupied and since it was 2 of us we were okay with sitting at the bar areas.. which I enjoyed (introvert here) because it was loud.. BUT it was all definitely worth it! I got the enchilada special which a dish originally from Michoacán.. the chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy and enchiladas with queso were yummy and even came with potatoes that were good as well. I'm coming back again.

This place is absolutely delicious! True authentic Michoacán food you can taste!! My husband and I ordered their enchiladas with chicken, taquitos and morisqueta and all 3 were really good but I think the enchiladas were by far my favorite! I highly recommend and think about this place often, it's so good!!

This could be worthy of 5 stars but I only tried their red chilaquiles which were so delicious. I will be back for them, I'll update my review when I try more of their plates. The take out order guy was really nice which goes a long way in my book. The restaurant is decent sized and there was a wait on a Sunday which goes to show how good it is

The food is delicious, authentic flavor. I had the Enchiladas with chicken and papas. It's my first time trying this style of enchiladas and I am hooked. Great value, the amount of food you get at a reasonable price.

Adorable little spot with such a cozy vibe! The service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the enchiladas verdes and the enchiladas con bistec--both were absolutely delicious and super authentic. Flavorful salsas with a great kick, and the agua fresca was just the right level of sweet and super refreshing! You can tell the food is made with love. Heads-up: it can take a while to come out, but it's totally worth the wait. This place is a gem and deserves all the support!

Delicious Michaocan style restaurant. Great service. Clean restaurant. Was not crowded on Tuesday afternoon but is very crowded on weekends.

This food is truly authentic of the state of Michoacan in Mexico. And I can say that because my parents are natives of Michoacan, and I have been there so many times even up to spending a whole year and going school there and eating all the festive foods and I know how to recognize authentic Michoacan style food, this is truly authentic delicious, and the service is great. Don't be afraid of the lines outside. It moves pretty fast. I highly recommend it. Try Bye their sweet corn tamales called Uchepos(oo-chë-pos).

Taste just like my mom's enchiladas.

Ordered some alcoholic drinks as well. Received our food within 15 minutes. All was very good! No complaints on the taste of food. All was delicious. Pros: -Happy Hour drinks were decent -Plenty of parking -Clean Restaurant which felt old fashion -Live music is available Cons: -Had to keep calling our waitress over to assist us. -Seafood Cocktail was very expensive! Other Restaurants that tasted as good or better would average up to $16-$19. This place charges you $27 which I believe is too overpriced for some seafood cocktail. Dishes were above average pricing. Overall: Wouldn't me my first Mexican go to place due the expensive price for dishes and Seafood and it would not be the last to visit. This place had a good vibe. Ambiance was straight old fashion to the punch. A real Mexican joint without old school vibes.

Place was nearly empty, we still went completely unattended for long stretches of time, orders were all wrong, and the waitress instead of fixing it was argumentative & completely wrong. For example, when I noticed my order was wrong, I told her and she immediately contradicted me to the point that I had to move the meat aside to prove to her that there were no beans on my order when there should've been. Instead of then fixing and apologizing she blamed the chef. When my spouse pointed out what was wrong about her order, she asked us what she wanted her to do with it? Maybe take it back and fix it? It was almost like she was blaming us and expecting us to just take what they brought us even if it was wrong. NOBODY IS TRYING TO PAY FOR THE PLEASURE TO FIGHT WITH THEIR INCORRECT WAITRESS. If you are going to be arguing with your paying clients, the least you could do is be right. They still tried to bill me for incorrect food returned and uneaten. Owner started brining up her video, but failed to address the countless problems and issues that were all over that "video". Eventually the food that was wrong and that was returned uneaten was refunded but it pales in comparison what the afternoon cost me.
