I came here with a friend on a Friday around 11am. No wait at all even though I hear the wait to get seated can take a long time on the weekends. The wait took a while to get our food but I'm sure that was due to it being lunch time. I got the green chilaquiles and it was so good. The salsa was not spicy and rather savory with a hint of sweetness. The portion size was pretty big. The meat was my least favorite part next time I would rather than try the chicken since the bistec was too think for my liking and needed a bit more seasoning. Ther beans were good but the serving of it was very tiny. Honestly getting these without any meat will be a great choice as well. That's what my friend got and she loved it. The only downside was that it took a while about 10 minutes to get our food and that it gets really noisy so if you are hard of hearing like myself it may be hard to hear your server. La Ruana was an okay first time eating experience for me. When we got in, we where greeted and a server took our drink and food order. They offer a variety of drink options including coffee, sodas, and aguas frescas. I decided to try their agua Fresca of which they had horchata or maracuya (passion fruit). I decided to try their maracuya. It was okay. I thought it was made with real maracuya but it tasted like it was made from powdered fruit mix. It was okay but I was expecting something different. I ordered their chilaquiles rojos con hueco y bistec. I loved the bistec but the chilaquiles were like warm. Some parts were cold which I didn't like but considering that they were cold, they were good. Had they been hot, It would have made for an awesome eating experience. My wife ordered their enchiladas con cecina. They weee good. Cecina is like beef jerky which my wife was not a fan of but I was. It was GOOD. The enchiladas had good flavor and the sauce was good too. They had these spicy but delicious salsa, like a sala macha, that was everything I needed. It made everything taste so good. We did have to wait about 25 to 30 minutes to get our food but it was a busy Sunday afternoon. Besides my chilaquiles being lukewarm, I would recommend La Ruana. I am sure everyone's experience is different and worth the time to check it out. La Ruana had a pretty long wait, but I really wanted to try the food, so we just called it in for takeout and I'm glad we did. It was totally worth it. I think where they can improve is figuring out the balance between their to-go and dine-in service. We were seated and got our order taken quickly but waited around an hour for our food. During that time there was a number of to-go orders completed and even a whole casserole/catering dish carried out by a customer. Well all the hype I'm not down with I went when no line me and my hubby ordered moroquita the flavor of pork was great but be aware very HOT and only comes in red sauce we were hoping they had green sauce that is more mild also had chili quilles green they were ok not really a taste to them no spice they serve with just barely any beans and now the tacos dorado potato they were dried don't put creama very bland didn't offer us any sauce but the very hot sauce on the table which is too thick and garlic the corn tortillas on the side were $3 and not really a flavor on them also my hubby ordered a coke they never brought to him so he asked one of the girls and took forever to bring a coke once we got the bill they charged us for 2 cokes but we didn't realize until after we left note to ladies make sure you look at bill because the hubby's just don't pay attention but to me food was not all that for $60 we had 3 items and side of corn tortillas and a coke $60 so trust me when I say this I had better food cheaper at other Mexican restaurants the food takes forever tne service was not great but it is authentic I guess if your from that part of Michoacan but I will not go there again can't always believe the hype read more
