First time here. Bought 2 orders of quesotacos, 1x carne asada 1x al pastor, I was told they come with 3 each order. After purchase I looked at receipt and saw it had 2x of each carne asada and al pastor quesotacos, I figured that's fine to have extras. I Also got 10x al pastor tacos, 10x carne asada, 6x carnitas with all the garnishes, onions and cilantro. Took it to go to a soccer game. There were 2 boxes of quesotacos.. and only 2 tacos in each box. So now I'm confused wondering why the cashier said each order came with 3 and I'm still confused whether they skimped me on 8 quesotacos or I got the 4 that was on the receipt because the menu does not say how many it comes with. The quesotacos were good, came with red onions and peppers pineapples and sauce on the side in the box. Took the rest of the 26x tacos home to my parents and I wish they had onion and cilantro at their bar because the tacos hardly had any at all. Usually the cilantro and onions will fall off and you can put it back in the taco but that definitely wasn't even the case. Some of the tacos didn't even have any onions or cilantro, they totally missed. The carnitas was not good, there was this white hard chewy thing in them I don't know what it was. The Al pastor and carne asada were good. The amount of meat in the tacos was below average. I've been to other places that give a lot of meat. Which was surprising because the quesotacos had a lot of meat, the regular tacos did not. Anyway, I think I got the short end of the stick here. read more

My boyfriend and I tried Tacos El Fogón a while ago, and it was okay. I appreciated the salsa bar and the fact that they allowed my dog on their outdoor patio. We also arrived about an hour before closing, and I appreciated how they continued to patiently accommodate guests. I ordered the asada burrito, and my boyfriend went with the asada torta. Honestly, it wasn't the best burrito I've had, as I'm pretty picky when it comes to asada, but it got the job done. The salsas were also just okay, none of them were particularly spicy to me. One of my favorite spots when I'm in the area I've came here a few times, each time is consistent with service and food. I'm also a sucker for a place that has a salsa bar (they also have beans, carrots and etc on the salsa bar) They have up close private parking The inside is very spacious with really big comfortable chairs. You can also see an open kitchen where they are cooking / cutting up the meat Each time I've came here, Lucy has taken care of us. -you walk up to the counter and order -they give you a number -then they call your number and you pick up your food. -Everything is self served. You get your own drink refills (I always get the fountain drink. But they do have other types) -you get your own napkins on the salsa bar -you get your own utensils on the salsa bar -you get your own salsa, beans and etc on the salsa bar -you seat yourself -you clean up after yourself and throw your food away and put your tray away I haven't had anything here that I did not like. El Fogón has such a great vibe the second you walk in. The wooden tables, leather chairs, and wide-open seating layout make the place feel both cozy and spacious. The only interaction I had was ordering my food and getting my food One thing I really appreciate is the self-serve sauce bar. If you like customizing your food, this is heaven. You can grab as much salsa as you want without having to ask. (Maybe not ideal if you're a germaphobe -- but for everyone else, it's a huge plus.) The agua fresca de sandía was delicious and tasted super fresh. It actually tasted like real watermelon, not like sugar or syrup. Food-wise, everything was on point. The Fogón Fries with al pastor were a standout: perfectly crispy fries, melty/goopy cheese (the good kind), and guac + sour cream that tied everything together. My boyfriend added grilled onions and played around with the dressings bar sauces, and it made an already great dish even better. I love that this place basically lets you create your own perfect version. The quesa tacos with al pastor were also amazing. The cheese was melted perfectly, and the tortilla had that ideal crispy-but-not-hard texture. And best of all -- the pastor wasn't overly salty in either dish, which is something we run into at a lot of other restaurants. The flavor was balanced and delicious. Bomb tacos here! I came after a football and wanted to try it! I got tacos of course so two asada and two el pastor tacos and both were delicious. The restaurant is really nice, and they had a live singer friday night. The salsa bar is average. They have free refried beans but didn't have any grilled onions or jalapenos in the pot. The salsa was pretty good on the tacos. Friendly service and smiles. Aqua frescas are on my list next time i come in. I think the pricing is good for what you get and the quality of it. I've only ordered takeout from here because Tacos El Fogón is usually very packed. It's not because it's a small place, but it sure is a popular place! I couldn't decide on one item so I got a few and still wouldn't know which would be a favorite. Each option was so deliciously different that I think they're all worth getting again! Besides the entree options, they have an assortment of meat, aguas frescas, and a good variety of dessert. This is very much a "if you crave it, we probably have it" type of restaurant. I'm so pissed off! I order all this food spent $100 to have it delivered. They gave me 3 salsas for all this food, it's 5 people and 3 salsas unbelievable! 4 asada tacos, a mulita, 3 birria queso tacos, a Cali burrito and a Chile relleno burrito. And they didn't put onion and cilantro on the tacos or give me onion and cilantro on the side. This is terrible. I hate it that we pay all this money for food and can't even get the condiments to eat it with. This is sad. I will never support this business again. I came across Tacos El Fogón when I craving tacos. I ordered a taco plate which comes with 4 tacos, rice and beans. They offer a variety of meats but you can only choose 2 for the plate. I ended up choosing asada and chorizo for my tacos. As somebody who doesn't really like beans, I thought the beans were delicious and flavorful. The rice was dry and is very similar to Northgate's rice. The tortillas were a little cold as well. In terms of seating, there is ample seating. While you're waiting for number to be called out, you can pick out your salsa and various small sides at the salsa bar. My personal favorite was the avocado salsa; it had a small kick to it. Agua frescas they got are p good to me too (horchata & Jamaica). Chorizo 3 quesa tacos (bomb af comes with Birria sauce) size of the tacos are decent and it's crunchy 10/10. 1 Pastor taco for $3 is a bit pricey but again it was so bomb 10/10. The chocoflan isn't sweet and it was just a slice 6/10 I didn't really like it bc I have a sweet tooth and I wanted it sweeter lol. Gets you 3 tacos and consomé - as well as grilled peppers and pickled onions and a salsa not offered at the salsa bar. They have sodas and great agua frescas that come in a large cup. In addition there's yummy postres like flan and choco flan. Aside from the meal being so good. Service is great, walk up to the counter, order, and wait to receive your order at the counter. As you wait, grab their beans like I did. I'm skeptical of beans, not everyone can make them right but these were so yummy. Salsa, Limes, Onions, Cucumbers with Tajín - these are all available free at their salsa bar. I really liked this and felt everything was fresh and delicious. While I didn't get to try many meats, they offer a lot suadero caught my eye for next time. This spot is calm, parking was simple but small, and everyone was friendly. The food and service has always been top notch for us coming here (typically on the weekend and Friday nights since we come from Redondo). We came on a Memorial Day Monday after driving back from vacation. Place was pretty empty. Ambience is always great, but today the vibe was def off. Only service dogs allowed. Clean, neat, organized and well kept. Not loud but it can be. About a handful amount of tvs to watch from. A salsa bar. A beverage fountain. Strictly here for the birria and nothing else lol. Let the cashier know it was my first time visit and he was real cool being patient and understanding as I placed my order. Each quesataco is about $3.89 if I remember seeing it correctly cuz it made more sense to grab the combo which included; 3 quesatacos and a cup of consome. Not bad if you ask me. Took pics while I waited. Wasn't long of a wait. My food came out fresh, hot and most importantly, smelling good lol. Stopped at or the grocery store for some tequila and then the liquor store for some ice. Finding myself bs knob my kitchen soon as I get back at home from these several trips. My food was still hot. This place has had a glow up with a strong Social Media presence , and I am here for it. This place has the best Chile Relleno burrito imo. I ordered mine with Asad and it was delish. Also tried some of their Al Vapor style tacos, cabeza and suadero both were good. Dont skip on their Flavored non-alcoholic drinks Agua-Miches. Sooo good. Service is pretty fast, staff at register have always been welcoming. Place is huge for a taco spot, it gives real mexico Taqueria, with a real salsa bar. I remember when Tacos El Fogon first opened back in 2019. At that time, I didn't think it would last because it was built across the street from the trendy Marisco restaurant called Taco Nazo. It's been nearly four years since I last visited Tacos El Fogon, so I decided to stop by with my wife for a quick bite. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and I was surprised at how busy it was. The private parking lot was full, but we found plenty of street parking. Inside, the ambiance had the typical Mexican restaurant vibe with TVs, and the table and chair style gave me the feeling of being in Ensenada. We ordered two asada vampiros, one vampiro al pastor, and a coke for $21.74, which was a great deal considering the size of the vampiros. This place makes all of its tortillas by hand and has a station. It took about 10 minutes to make, giving us enough time to get some delicious condiments at their bar. I tried my best to capture the size of our vampiros and how much meat they had in my pictures. We also grabbed some salsas and grilled onions, but honestly itnreally didnt need anything else. The vampiro was delicious, and the al pastor was perfectly cooked and had a lot of flavors. The guacamole tasted fresh, and the tortilla was sturdy enough to hold everything together. This place also offers something I have never seen before in any restaurant: free slices of cucumber with lime, salt, and tajin to cleanse your palate. In conclusion, this place is the real deal for vampiros. While their menu has a variety of options to choose from, I highly recommend trying their vampiros. We were there on 03/25/2026. We were looking for a different Mexican restaurant and passed by this place. The food was very good the girl taking orders a the cash register was helpful. I don't speak much Spanish, luckily she spoke good English. Prices are reasonable and seating was ample. There was a very generous condiment bar. Someone on yelp called it a salad bar. Lol Lots of pickled carrots, radishes, salsa and even backed beans. If I were a proletariat (we all may become one after AI takes our jobs.) I'm sure their jobs are safe for now. This visit I decided to try the Lengua taco and it did not disappoint. I went with two tripa tacos and as good as it was, there's just something about how they prepare it that just doesn't appeal to me. However, I really like the chicharon the best. Quick service for takeout. Very efficient considering it was a very busy afternoon (Monday but school is out for summer so families and retirees were out for early dinner). Lots of meats to choose from. There is a self serve counter of salsas (green tomatillo, red spicy, green avocado cream style) plus pickled cucumbers spears and the biggest carrots with jalapeno peppers relish; alongside a hot pot of pinto beans. Very old school chunky leather chairs and heavy wooden furniture. You place your order at the counter and everything is served on disposable plates, except the menudo! I laughed at the sign that said please do not discard the bowls. I got a variety to try: chicharron, lengua, pollo, suadero, carnitas, al pastor style carnitas and buche, also carne asada.
