I'm beyond frustrated with my experience ordering online here. I placed my order and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived, the gentleman at the front told me it would be another 7 minutes -- fine, no problem. I waited another 10 minutes, only for him to finally ask what I ordered and then tell me they only had beef available. At that point I was annoyed because why wasn't that communicated when I first walked in? Either the online ordering system isn't accurate or the staff doesn't know how to use it properly. What really made it worse was that from the time I placed my order to actually receiving my food, it took an entire hour. Meanwhile, I watched multiple people walk in, order in person, and get their food within 10 minutes. Offering me an agua fresca doesn't make up for wasting that much of someone's time. Like taking cleaning seriously. She claimed that the reason the place was dirty is because people "bring in dogs" but my dog was never inside. I dare you to check the cameras and prove my do ever step a paw inside the restaurant. I can, however, prove that cleaning has been a issue for this restaurant for a while. And is this is the part customers see, I can only imagine what it looks like in the kitchen..... It is my fault for falling for the Instagram hype. Food looks good. And the presentation is just like the pictures and video. But the taste is just bland. Shrimp tacos were simple, tasted like boiled shrimp. Chicken in the taquitos was over seasoned and dry and the beef flautas was mostly potato. I had ordered two Jamaicas so when they called my ordered I asked the cashier for them and he said "Didn't I give them to you already?" Which I could very insulting. I paid $60+ for flautas and taquitos, I'm sure if I wanted more aguas frescas I could afford it. But the worse was the dirty in the doorway and seating outside. Seems like cleaning is not a priority there. We ate there because soggy taquitos are not my thing but I was embarrassed with my friend who came all the way from Culver City. I paid around $40 for two large drinks and a torta. The torta itself was $14, but the al pastor meat inside lacked flavor and didn't stand out. Honestly, you're better off grabbing tacos from a good street vendor--they tend to have more authentic flavor at a better price. As for the flautas, they didn't look like what's shown on TikTok. They are very large portions, which could be a plus for some, but it's a lot of food--definitely too much if you're not someone who eats big meals. I wasn't able to finish mine. The drink also missed the mark; it tasted more like a mix of lemonade and strawberry rather than something well-balanced. Other downsides: long wait times, dirty tables, and it's hard to hear your number being called if you're waiting outside. Last visit 03-22-26. Been passing this spot for the past 9 yrs. Came once for some some asada tacos but that's its. Everything was made fresh to go. The food was great. Better than I expected. The birria was tender and flavorful. The consomé was also good. The service was great. The cashier was polite and professional. I saw this place on Instagram, and had to try it. It's a small joint with just two indoor tables and one outdoor table. Came there for lunch on a weekday and got an inside table. Ordered their flautas Ahogadas, taquitos, and Birria taco. Everything was made fresh and was so bomb. The flautas and taquitos were so crunchy and tender inside from the meat. My favorite dish of the day was the birria taco. There's already so much flavor in the taco meat, but the consomme takes it over the edge. I could order another. It seems everyone and their brother knows about TAKOS! I ordered: CALIFORNIA BURRITO FLAUTAS AHOGADAS,(delicious, plenty of filling) MAR Y TIERRA burrito ( GREASY & Good), TORTA CUBANA ( Yummy). The place is no bigger then a postage stamp. They do seem to have a handle on flavors, I loved their chipotle hot sauce. The portions are enough to make another meal, which we did for breakfast! Heard about Takos from TikTok & decided to give it a try. We initially went on a Saturday night & it was an hour and 45 minute wait. That was actually crazy so we decided to go back on a weekday, a Tuesday, right when they opened. That was probably the smartest thing we could have done. The first time we went we both got Asada tortas and they were so delicious. This was my first and only time trying one, and I definitely recommend it. The Asada tacos were just regular, the Asada burrito was just regular, nothing special. We also got the giant flautas Taquito type things. They were sooooo good. I don't even like sour cream and they have sour cream on them and I devoured them! I believe they were chicken and potato. They come in this sauce, the sauce was so delicious! It was like cabbage inside the sauce. Honestly, you can just eat the cabbage in the sauce, it was giving vegan pozole, that's how good it was. They could probably put that on the menu and serve that just by itself, but that all together dipped in the flautas was delicious. It's probably one of the smallest restaurants in this intersection and it is a Birria taco restaurant. Claims it is Tijuana authentic. And the flavors prove it. And the made with beef not goat meat so it's really really enjoyable. Like I mentioned it is small. There's probably 6 chairs inside the restaurant and 8 chairs outside of it. That is it. I made my food to go. From the looks of it, everybody was making their order to go. In the time that I ordered and received my food there was a lot of people coming in. Everything taste good their salsa are very spicy. All that food you can easily feed three people total was $67. I've been to this place twice and I didn't expect it to be so tiny, if there is a line going out the door it's because it's small so don't let it scare you. The people are very friendly and very attentive. I've had their surf and turf nachos and they were really good but I think my favorite was their quesatacos / quesabirrias, tons of meat and cheese and the consommé was pretty good too. Now I also tried their flautas ahogadas and I think they're overrated -_- they were all potato hardly any meat. Heard about Takos on IG, although I've driven past several times. There was quite a line due to the post I saw being on IG and Tik Tok. Takos is located in a strip mall that has plenty of parking. There are two tables inside and two outside. Small place, mostly for carry out orders. The cashier was friendly and not too phased by the surge of guests. He filled the self-serve salsa, lemon and cucumber station when I advised him here were out of cucumbers. I ordered what I saw on IG: Flautas Ahogadas. I ordered to go because the inside only seats 6 and the tables were full. Flautas were potato and pork. They were quite large and I could only eat 2. They were tasty and crispy. The flavor of the consume was ok and I enjoyed the cabbage and vegetables that were served with the dish (as well as the sliced cucumbers). Enjoyable meal and leftovers. Not crave-able enough for me to go back for that dish. I may try something else if in the area. read more

Tried Takos and had a really great experience overall. The service here is super friendly and welcoming -- easily one of the highlights of the visit. I ordered the flautas ahogadas and a shrimp taco. The flautas were delicious, topped with salsa, cheese, and lettuce, and packed with a beef-and-potato filling. I actually liked the potato in there, though it does feel a bit like filler -- and while the dish was really good, it's a little on the pricey side. Literally a hole in the wall. Very tiny place but with very delicious food. When we got there around 1 pm there was a little line. Like moved fairly quickly by ready to wait a little for your food, it does take a little. The food is amazing. We tried ordering birria items but they were sold out already, so instead we ordered their famous Flautas Ahogas 10/10. Probably my favorite item I tried, warm, delicious and just great flavor. Negatives, how in gods name have the Mexicans done like the Italians and believe that a Bieria taco plate is $19.99 like Risotto is $35.00? Yes, I absolutely can produce both dishes at a fraction of the cost. I get overhead, staff etc. but being honest you have strong competition right down the street for half the price and all of the above. Again 4-stars and delicious but have to go back up the street. TaKos is such a reliable neighborhood gem, nothing else in the area even compares. There was a moment when we thought they were gone for good, but we're so glad they're back! We honestly love everything on their menu but our go to is always the Birria Trio. It includes a quesabirria, taco, doradito and their consomé, which is super flavorful. Chips and guacamole are also a must! We love the way they fry their chips here, they're super thick yet crispy and airy. Dining wise, they only have a few tables inside and one outside so we usually do pickup or delivery. When we do come in, it's always busy (a good sign) but the wait is never too bad. So my new favorite Agua Fresca is Jamaica and Takos here makes it in perfect flavor. Not too sweet, a bit of tartness and a subtle hint of hibiscus. Sooooo good! Also got their viral flautas which was amazing. Taquitos was crispy and not oily which is a surprise. Inside had meat and potatoes which is the perfect combination. The sauce it is dipped in is great with the red onion and pickled jalapeños together. Overall this dish is combined perfectly. Also got the birria trio which had 3 different style of birria taco and the birria dipping sauce. Again the birria soup/sauce I was expecting it to be oily like most places but it isn't oily. Is almost like Takos is very health conscious. But flavor is still great without the oil. The only complaints I have is after the flautas, I want the potatoes in my birria taco too. maybe there will be future options to? One can only wish. Service is great as always. AN HOUR AND A HALF WAIT?!?!? No thank you. The food is good but not so good that I'd be willing to wait that long. We placed our order at 7:20 for 2 orders of flautas and 2 carne asada tacos. We saw the no refunds sign. And proceeded to the salsas. The cucumber were empty and everything was a mess. Tables a mess, no napkins to clean them. Food and utensils all over the floor. Hungry customers waiting over an hour for food. Order at your own risk! My wife asked if we could get a free soda for waiting so long and the guy just kept saying sorry. I know this place blew up on TT so maybe they aren't used to the crowd, they only have one fryer for flautas in the back, but there are 4-5 guys back there making food. Orders were going out only every 5-10 mins. We got our food at 8:45. Some poor soul was scared to go to his car bc his wife was hangry. I was ready to tell my wife lets go. Asada needed more flavor and I did get some birria mixed in which is not what I ordered but it didn't taste bad if anything it tasted better than the asada. Needed more nacho cheese. I had placed an order online at 2:00 with an alert that my order would be ready at 2:15. I get there and am told that there will be a wait, which is understandable bc it was busy. But no hello or welcome. I try to give benefit of the doubt bc maybe it was just an off day for the worker. Anywho, 30-45 min goes by and all of the walk in customers had gotten their food and left. Even the ones that placed orders after I had arrived. Don't let this review discourage you from trying it, because the food is tasty, but I think the service could be better. He just stood there and stared at us when he was finally ready to take our order. It felt awkward and like we were annoying him just by being there. Also, the dining area was not clean. Almost every table was dirty and had old food and crumbs on it, and no one was going around cleaning or wiping anything down. It gave the place a bad first impression, especially when we're about to sit and eat. The food itself was actually really good. It's just sad that the customer service and cleanliness do not match the quality of the food. If the owners invested a little more attention into training their staff on basic customer service and keeping the restaurant clean, this could easily be a great spot.
