I have had the best experiences EVER at Dr. Roberts office. I have had years of teeth implants,root canal at regular dentists and then I was told my gum disease would result in losing all my teeth. My gums were a bevy of horrible pocket numbers ..up to 14!When my regular dentist told me I needed a periodontist to try and save my teeth I burst into tears! After meeting Dr Roberts and his wonderful staff I was happily surprised. They are so helpful, explain everything throughly and they laugh a lot which is unusual(from my past experiences at periodontists). Dr Roberts performed a 4 hour surgery with such a gentle touch. Since healing, I have had numerous follow up cleaning and check ups. My gum pockets are in the 3s and 4s.. and have remained so for the past year and a half. Dr Roberts and his team gave me a really good daily care program for me at home and when I travel.. So helpful! I am beyond grateful for finding a doctor of this caliber and actually look forward to my appointments, because the news continues to be good and the staff is amazing! Since I am in my 60s and have a poor genetic dental history in the my family, I didn't think I had a chance to save my teeth, but because I found an MD with amazing abilities, I am so thrilled to travel the world with my teeth in good health. I have had the best experience at Encinitas Perio! I had my first consultation back in 2018 with Dr. Roberts for gum recession throughout my entire mouth. Dr. Roberts was great at walking me through the gum grafting process, but I wasn't ready then to go through with the surgery due to job change and my upcoming wedding. Life got crazy, and I ended up coming back for the surgery in December 2021. This time Dr. Traxler took over my care. In those three years, I had changed dentists and seen another periodontist who did not offer the same patient attentiveness or insurance coverage options that I had received at Encinitas Perio. Dr. Roberts staff is top-notch. Very gentle, polite and professional. They explained everything they were going to be doing before they did it. Dr. Roberts took his time explaining all my options. I then scheduled an appointment for oral surgery. The day of the surgery arrived. They were timely as before, with very little waiting. And again, they were all very polite and friendly. I had no pain and very little discomfort during the entire process which was extensive. I thought I would feel a lot of pain the next day when the anesthesia wore off. To my surprise, I had absolutely no pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Roberts and his staff to everyone; especially, if you are concerned with discomfort or pain. Dan's dedication and commitment to providing me with the very best and most stable treatment outcomes possible is deeply touching and much appreciated. An example of his commitment is that if while in the middle of performing a particular treatment, he discovers a previously unknown problem at the site, he will go ahead and fix it, not necessarily asking for additional compensation. Staff always friendly and available to answer questions. Do take most dental insurance but coverage varies. I have been going here for 15 years for scaling deep cleanings surgery etc related to gingivitis. John as hygienist is thorough and attentive. Dr. Roberts congenial and takes time to explain things.
