Great customer service as always! We couldn't beat it anywhere else. Overall, Dr. Brill and Sarina are simply fantastic! We really appreciate their awesome Optometry care, a solid process in making us feel safe during the pandemic in their building, and high-quality service at its finest. They truly go above and beyond and have a superb pandemic procedure in place when you go into their building, which made us feel safe and assured. On top of this, they do temperature checks before you enter, require face mask-wearing inside at all times, and have social distancing marks on the floor while you're in the building to prevent any exposure of anything unknown. They even clean all of their eyewear for sale and basically customized the visit to your needs only. I can see that this helps reduce contact with other customers. Heck, they are setting the standard high in pandemic safety vice your average doctor's office. Go figure, right? Anyhow as for Dr. Brill, I would say he's the best and most seasoned Optometrist in the area. Along with him, his office manager, Sarina, is simply amazing and super kind and cool. Simply put, if you need to get your eyes tested, then you should seriously consider going to Dr. Brill, especially if you want quality care in Optometry. He uses state of the art tools and has an old school style to him that is lost with most Optometrists I've been to in years past. In fact, I prefer Dr. Brill's style of care vice others, as you can tell his attention to detail in his profession and skills are the utmost. In the end, this is the doctor you want to take care of your vision needs. As for the process they have in place, just follow their procedures in getting in there and you'll get the best care and quality customer service with high-quality frames all-around to choose from. Finally, they'll do the best they can do to work with your vision insurance company. If they ask you for personal details (i.e., SSN, address, age, name, insurance details, etc.), don't worry they'll safeguard the information, as they are the utmost professionals and ensure safety and security is at the highest standards for all their customers. They need this info to make sure your insurance company covers what it will cover. I wouldn't be writing this review if I didn't believe it. Been going here for a while now. But if you need to fill your prescription glasses, beware. Go to Costco instead. Getting glasses, somehow required about 5 visits. They tried to upsell me on this extra layer on the glasses lens to aid in close reading, but it made the lens 50% thicker than any of my prior glasses. (I've worn glasses my whole life.) Then I received numerous excuses on various issues: 1. "It's not that thick. New nosepads will fix it." (Dismissive response #1) 2. After getting indentations on my nose bridge and having to come back again, "We didn't know it would be so much thicker." (They probably fill thousands of prescriptions, how could they not know?) 3. "*Your* choice of frame makes it thicker." (Head scratcher this one, since the prescription itself is what drives the thickness and refraction of the lens. Basic physics. Not the shape of the frame. So now they are blaming the patient?) 4. "There aren't any scratches on the frame." "Oh yes I see, we'll order new ones." "The scratches on the frame are barely visible, but we ordered them anyway." (Strangely inconsistent and flipflopping) I don't understand giving a patient a hard time when all they want is a pair of normal glasses of normal thickness that have not been scratched up. How hard is that? After my 5th visit, I did get audibly upset, and I shouldn't have. I was reasonable for the first 4 visits, but after that, it gets ridiculous.

I have had many, many eye doctors and Dr. Izaac was the most thorough optometrist that I have ever been to. Not only was the exam hitting all the bases ( and a few that I have never even heard of before), he was extremely nice and explained everything that was going to happen. He took the time to really answer my questions and explained things about my eyes that I have never known before. He has this retinal scan that they take of your eye and then show you pictures of your total eyeball. It was pretty cool. This procedure is not covered by insurance and the cost is $39, but there is absolutely no pressure to purchase this and it does give you a visual peace of mind that your eyes are healthy. His optician ( I can't remember her name) is also really helpful and spends the time with you to find the best financial deal with your insurance. She also scheduled me in to see Dr. Izaac really quickly since I was having problems with my contacts. I already had frames for my glasses, so I don't know about their selection or prices on those, but once you are a patient, they will give you a discount on your eye exam. Honestly, if you are looking for a good eye doctor, Dr. Izaac is your man. The office validates parking for an hour, or there is plenty of metered parking on Ventura, and the office is really pleasant.

It's hard to find good doctors. I mean, ones who know their specialties so well that you instantaneously feel in the right place when they take care of you. Dr. Phoo is that kind of a doctor. Not only does he know his stuff, but he's very, very cool! He takes time with each and every patient. He relates. He knows you. He cares! Most doctors get you in and rush you out. Dr. Phoo makes sure your eyes get the best quality attention possible. He specializes in Low Vision. So patients like me need a little more explanation than typical patients and Phoo gives it... generously. Pay no attention to the fact he's much younger than any eye doctor I've ever seen. He is super smart, very, very good, and he's the only Low Vision guy around. He solved my eye pain issues and he got rid of my dry eye syndrome when my previous optometrist of 42 years couldnt. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Escobar and her entire staff! She is so kind, funny and immediately makes you feel comfortable. My teenage daughter came in to get a new contacts prescription. The doctor was very thorough in her exam, and so patient and sweet! We needed a rush as my daughter was almost out of her old contacts... We were going out of town and needed them when we got back. The company sent the wrong strength for one eye, and I phoned the office in frustration. Staff was amazing and so professional... And gave me a rebate last year. This year they totally forgot. When I told them that they gave me my rebate late and that they should give me a refund they laughed at me. Excuse me but the people at this office are so rude and unprofessional. It's been this way for a while. I just never said anything last time I went there. They made me go there three times last year for contacts and glasses last year. But this year they could care less about our family. Lying about the rebate saying I have 90 days when it clearly says on the rebate 60 days. I had to ask about the rebate which was the 60th day. The office manager had the nerve to tell us over and over that it was 90 days. Until my husband got on the phone and told her to read the rebate. They said they Will call us back the following week but never did. They only care about their sales. I've been so loyal to them since I've been referred. And drove out of my way to go here. I'm never going here again. I will be reporting this business to the bbb and wherever else I can!

Nasty, RUDE service. I've been needing new glasses for a couple years now, was referred here by my…read moreinsurance and eagerly went in just to browse frames. I was initially hesitant to enter because the signs on the door were in Korean so I was skeptical that they'd help me, but then I thought That's ridiculous, we're in the United States, why wouldn't they help me? And went in anyway. It turns out I should've trusted my gut. Big time. Literally the second I walked in I was rudely told by the receptionist "We're closed". It was 5:10pm on a Monday. Their posted hours said open til 6pm. So I said "I thought you close at 6?" A crotchety old doctor man interjected abruptly "We close at 5:30". Their rude aggressive demeanor was not ok with me, so I said "You say you close at 5:30, but it's only 5:10, so that would leave me 20 minutes to browse frames, right?" Crotchety senile doctor barks "No!". I said "Oh really? From 5:10 to 5:30 isn't 20 minutes? Is my math wrong?" They all just looked at me. Then the receptionist said "We need time to put the frames away." Um first of all that's only if I actually saw some frames I wanted to try, but more importantly that's part of operating a business. And as I'm looking for something specific and can tell by looking if a frame will suit me or not, it's unlikely I would've even touched many frames. And *on their website* their POSTED HOURS are until 6pm Mondays. I definitely won't be spending a penny here and would encourage anyone else to go elsewhere. I went to a different optometrist not far away in Encino - owned, run and staffed by Americans - and could not have been treated better.

What I really appreciated was Dr Chae's thorough exam and very well explained diagnosis. I didn't feel rushed and left confident in my contact lens prescription and without further questions. Thank you for making something that usually feels like a chore an easy visit.
