Located on Ventura Blvd. in Encino, this optometry is tucked away in a shopping center across Posquito Mas. For parking, I parked at the free parking lot near Posquito Mas, and crossed the street to reach the optometry. Dr. Nikoo was super friendly and professional. When I first arrived, she made me filled out some standard paperwork and we began eye exam immediately afterwards with no wait. The whole procedure (including dilation) took less than 45 minutes and I felt very comfortable and guided along the way. Overall, I felt the doctor was very personable and showed genuine care of my understanding and well being. The premise was cozy and felt homey and laid back. Dr. Nikoo found a lesion inside my left eye! I am a (young) 40-year-old :D Never imagined I would write a review like this, but if it wasn't for Dr. Nikoo finding a lesion inside my eye, things could have been left for a long time, turning into something more serious. After several months of tests that escalated up to UCLA doctors, I am happy to tell you that yesterday I was told that my lesion is stable. We will be monitoring it again in 4 months. I walked in to see if they could clean my glasses. It looked like a nice shop so I thought id check out the frames since I also need new frames as well. I asked the lady in the store if she could clean my glasses to which she replied (no this is not a joke) "I don't have anything to clean glasses" Seriously, you are an optical shop and you don't have product to clean lenses. I tend to *ahem* misplace *ahem* glasses (My first set with her years ago, Tommy Hilfiger's, grew legs at a local restaurant. My second set grew legs on a job site. I had been going to Ophthalmology Associates of the Valley for my yearly exam and fresh contacts but realized just how much it was costing me every year above and beyond my insurance. You are ushered into five different rooms, talk to five different people and given a battery of tests (some of which are not covered and not necessary (IMO) but you are kind of guilted into what a good idea it would be to do. I don't know... maybe if I had really bizarre eye condition or needed an ophthalmologist... but I don't. I need to know if my prescription has changed much from last year, how's the general health of my eyes and order me some contacts, please. Thought I would try Frame Cottage. Nikoo Rezvani is great. I think she has one part-time person helping her. Nothing fancy, not a huge frame selection (but decent)... just a straightforward, no bullshit, no white lab coat. From what I can tell she does the standard tests that 9 out 10 optometrists do then orders you some contacts or glasses... and you are on your way. This place has a very laid-back homey feel. I really enjoyed the doctor who was super friendly and genuine, I did not feel pressured at all to buy frames. I felt like my exam was quick but thorough and every question I asked was answered in a way I could understand. This is a high traffic location off a main boulevard in Encino with parking restrictions so I parked a few blocks away on a residential street. My appointment scheduling was no problem, and after checking most of the reviews, I made my appointment a few days away in which I filled out paperwork once I arrived. The office is pleasant, and Nikoo Rezvani, the Optometrist was friendly. Upon finishing my paperwork, my examination took place with Ms Rezani, in which she began with medical questions and then began my eye examination which was standard such as viewing an eye chart, etc. but once she examined my eyes with a flashlight, she held the flashlight much longer than of my multitude past examinations with any of my prior exams with other optometrists, and the blue dye she used was so much that I needed a tissue to dry it off my face. Not only was the dye excessive, I could barely see when I left the office. Once I received my eye prescription from her, I took it to where I had purchased my previous eyeglasses for the past 5 years. When I received my new glasses, I could barely see because my vision was immensely distorted. I inquired as to whether it was crafted accordingly to my prescription. Upon verifying my prescription from Frame Cottage's Optometrist, I was informed by the new Optometry Center that the new lenses were correctly made as prescribed in which I ended up having to my eyes re-examined by the center who made my previous glasses correctly. So not only did I get a bad examination which cost me, in addition to time lost, gas for travel, and excessive eye dye, my vision was highly affected for weeks due to extensive penetration from the light she had on my eyes believing she saw glaucoma. Also, she said she was referring me to see a specialist for what she thought was glaucoma but she never did. read more
