Jason was wonderful doing an inspection on my home that I was purchasing…read more Jason arrived early and was very nice. Jason stated I could follow him around, but I declined and just told him if there was anything he wanted me to know just to let me know. I was only there waiting for my realtor. Jason was very personable, built a report and asked me questions to get to know our situation. Even if things were OK he explained how he looked at them and why he chose to look at them a certain certain way he was very detailed. The sewer company also highly recommended. Jason said that he does amazing work. I received my report the same day. I highly recommend.

Upon moving into the home, we found the water heater was missing the sight glass to the pilot light. Something that both the Spire gas representative and plumber we had to call were at a loss at how it wasn't even mentioned in the inspection. BPG has been nothing but condescending and unhelpful throughout the claim process. They did not respond to my claim until I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and have refused to stand by the satisfaction guarantees and the ASHI standards they themselves have repeatedly referred me to support their denial of my claim. I cannot strongly recommend enough, do not use BPG for your home inspection.

Edit in regard to their response: They did not explain that their services covered the condition…read moreof the pipe on the day of inspection (that was never a conversation). You know why? They didn't need to! That was never under question! I never stated conditions worsened, only that they failed to note any water intrusion from a joint ON THE DAY OF INSPECTION because it was CLEARLY IN THE VIDEO that Superior Sewer and Pillar to Post provided. All they needed was a note in their inspection report stating: water intrusion from joint at x ft from the cleanout... I don't care if they recommend a fix or not, their inspection didn't note it. Now onto the regular report: They really don't think they missed anything, I'm impressed! A non-operational grill (due to a bad igniter) is not the same thing as leaking natural gas! Now that they are disputing that part of my review, let's list some of the other things that they missed: a leaking shower valve (separate from a leak they noted in their report), a non-functional AC unit (wall unit), two saddle valves in use that are not up to code, a foundation crack and some drywall cracks (foundation crack was behind a flower plant, so I don't entirely blame that on the inspector, and I'm not mentioning other cracks because they were behind items they aren't supposed to move). Additionally, I paid extra for use of the IR/thermal camera and they were supposed to use that in a very specific way in accordance with their own Standards of Practice (SoP). Specifically, to check for loose connections in the breaker panel the process is: take the front panel off, turn on a high load appliance such as an AC unit, and take a reading with the IR camera. They took a reading with the front panel on (so no useful thermal measurement was taken) and no high load appliance was running. There is no way now to know if there was a loose connection or bad breaker during the time of inspection. Any inspector worth your money would use a temperature sensor to measure the temperature of air coming from air registers to ensure an appropriate temperature drop when the AC is running. They did not do that, hence the broken AC unit that was missed. A lot of the things they missed on the regular inspection report I didn't blame them for missing. I've had way more time than them to find problems, but their response to some criticism is what really makes this company the worst. Original: I hired them (and they hired sister company, Superior Sewer) to perform a sewer lateral inspection. They missed a break in the lateral that cost thousands to repair. I got the line rooted and part of the line had so much water intrusion that the rest of the line couldn't be rooted (water was saturating the 6 inch line). This was clearly visible during their video inspection and they didn't even note it in the report (not quite as much water, but still a waterfall in the lateral line). They refuse to acknowledge they missed anything stating water intrusion in clay joints is "normal". I agree that ground water seeping in is no big deal, water POURING into the lateral, which was happening during inspection, is NOT normal. They refuse to acknowledge any fault or even refund the cost of the inspection despite the fact their miss cost THOUSANDS of dollars. Don't use them. They also missed a number of things during their standard inspection and, during their Gas/mechanical inspection, they missed a natural GAS LEAK in the grill.

Gerry is a great inspector! He performed a standard home inspection for the house I am purchasing…read moreat the moment, and he also performed a Radon screening and a termite inspection. Him & his company also hooked me up with a much desired sewer lateral inspection which is verrry important if you're buying an older home. (This one was built in 1925....so I decided it would be a good idea.) Gerry is a Professional Engineer and I for sure only wanted a P.E. doing my inspection. I'm also an engineer and I know how intensive the process is to become a licensed P.E. It's also a good idea to hire a P.E. for an older home or if you are interested in making any structural changes to your current home. They can give you the safe and correct advice to help you with your project. Plus if you ever want to sell your home, having a P.E.'s comments on the inspection is a good idea. ;) He was verrry thorough in pointing everything out that needed work or was a minor concern. From some ungrounded outlets, to carpenter bees in the pergola, his inspection was honest and professional. He also has a great sense of humor which made the whole process a lot more fun and enjoyable. The following day, my report was available for download on the BPG website. You get a code and username emailed to you and you just download the files as .pdfs. It was super easy and convenient. Also the sewer lateral guy will hand you a DVD with video of the inspection with comments. Pretty nifty. I liked how the info was at my fingertips so soon! Excellent turn around time! :) The report itself was very comprehensive and he even included photos of specific things that needed to be fixed! I would definitely recommend Gerry for your home inspection. He has many years of experience and some great stories to share. I don't know all that much about the company he works for (or is contracted by?) but it seems that home inspections and home warranties are their specialty. Also the prices were very fair. I called around for quotes from different inspectors. Not only was his the cheapest for my house's closing price, but he was also able to do the inspection the earliest which was crucial since I only had 10 days to get an inspection done! (Also I hope I typed the info for him into Yelp correctly...!)

All the documents were detailed, included photos and were available within 24 hours. I would hire Gerry again any day!

    - Alex Castellano We…read morehave worked with Alex for years, and I truly can't recommend her enough. She helped us buy our first home in 2019, just helped us sell that home in 2026, and will be helping us with our next purchase too. At this point, she feels much more like a trusted friend and advisor than our realtor. When we bought in 2019, the market was crazy. We were first-time buyers, and even though our offers were competitive with buyers putting 20% down, we didn't have that same advantage on paper. Alex was incredibly strategic about how we approached our offers. She found ways to make us more appealing to sellers and negotiated significant credits for us. We ended up getting the house over offers that looked stronger on paper, which I honestly don't think would have happened without her. This time around, she helped us sell, and her guidance started almost a year before we listed. She met with us about a year out, again around six months out, and then many more times as we got closer to listing. She helped us figure out which improvements were worth doing and which ones weren't. We never felt like we were being told to spend money just for the sake of making the house look better. Everything had a purpose, and her advice helped us get the most out of the home without unnecessary work or expense. She was just as good when it came to pricing, listing, and negotiating with buyers. Throughout the entire process, she was responsive, patient, and always willing to talk something through. Even when things got stressful, we knew she was looking out for us and would tell us what she really thought was best. What I appreciate most is that she genuinely knows us. She understands what matters to us, listens to what we want, and never makes us feel pressured. We have always felt like she was protecting our interests and fighting for the best possible outcome for us. Buying or selling a home is a huge decision, and having someone you completely trust makes all the difference. We've trusted Alex through both sides of the process, in two very different markets, and we're grateful that we'll get to work with her again for our next home. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a realtor who will truly have their back.
