This spot was amazing! We sat inside near the bar/tvs and it was very comfortable/casual. Service was great and the food was even better. I ordered a Maine lobster roll (cold) and it was OUTSTANDING! I still dream of the lobster... huge pieces and so soft and flavorful (check out the claw in my picture). The fries were great, too! Overall, great spot! :)

After we had a wonderful sunset on the beach, my friend and I stumbled on this place. We showed up at 8, they closed at 9. We were able to sit outside in the covered patio. Our waiter was great but the. Hostess seemed to have a problem with us sitting outside as we could see her flailing her arms to our waiter inside. To start, we shared a bottle of wine, which was delicious. We had the burrata and prosciutto toast - which was tasty but felt like something was missing. I can't put my finger on what but it needed something. It was still tasty. Next, we had the lobster mango tower. Mango lobster and avocado- definitely a strange combo but somehow it worked. I had a piece of shell in mine but it was tasty. We finished our meal with swordfish and the fig and duck flatbread. I took most of the flatbread hike since I was full but it was delightful!

The staff was phenomenal always remembers a face and greets everyone with a smile and a neighborly conversation. Had two bistro martinis and they were delicious made by two different staff and consistently great. Walked the whole restaurant and loved the vibe in and outside but sat at the bistro it was more casual. The clam chowder was delicious, Caesar salad with salmon was yummy. My mother got the bistro salad and loved it. Wish the ac was higher but it was very humid and very busy. Will be back

Best lobster roll?

I like the lobster rolls at Sesuit Harbor. I think that both places have the same owner so I would give the lobster roll a try at Encore.

Its very cheap considering that you will get TWO shows in a row. the building is beautiful with amazing stain glass windows. the acoustics of the room are wonderful for music, amplifying it and holding the sound to perfection. Its intimate, and inviting; the perfect date place. The signers often involve you in the music and have you sing along. It will fill up fast, because this is where the locals go for music on cape cod. Id recommend for bigger shows showing up 20 min ahead of time. Of course they will fit you in, as you can always stand. visit website http://www.firstencounter.org/ for info and to see if there is a concert

For 5 bucks, I received a huge ego boost and a greater understanding of why Boston loves to dance! A word to dates: if you come here with a special someone, expect that you and your partner will dance with other people. Don't worry: it's nothing personal! After the lesson, the studio turned into an open dance featuring live music from Chelsea Reed and the Fairweather Five, an amazing swing band from Philadelphia! The floor was jumping and everyone was having a blast cutting a rug. I personally asked to dance with several people and was surprised to find how gracious and encouraging they were in accepting and subsequently dancing with my square self. The dancers here are very courteous and interested in the improvement of everyone in the club. The snacks and water were provided in copious amounts. The community is strong in this one. I'll be back, Blues Union, and I'll be bringing more people who are interested!

There's never a cover charge, but there is a one drink purchase minimum. Mixed drinks/cocktails can be a bit pricey, but for the entertainment you're getting, I'd say it's pretty worth it. It's also a pretty small (but cozy & intimate) setting, so if you show up later in the evening, there may only be standing room. Most recently, I went on a Thursday night, and turns out every Thursday they have a Latin Jazz band starting at 9:30/10pm! It was SO fun and people were dancing and just having a great time. As soon as I opened the door, before I had even stepped inside, the bartender shouted "ID!" from across the room while making a hand gesture. I politely said I would have appreciated being asked in a more respectful way, and his response was: "Get out, I don't need the attitude." I have never been asked to leave a venue before, especially for politely expressing that I found the way I was addressed disrespectful. After reading other reviews, I noticed that I'm not the only customer complaining about this bartender's behavior.

All of our guests raved about how great they were. They play both traditional jazz music and a mix of some popular jazz & Latin hits (Frank Sinatra, etc). If you're looking for Sir Mixalot and some Rihanna, you'll have to look elsewhere because these guys have class! First off, Bob was incredibly great to work with. I probably only sent 2-3 emails and a couple phone calls at most about a year out, and a week before the wedding - just indicating what songs we wanted and to confirm some deposits and details. We are pretty much "roll with it" people and gave them the reigns on this one, they showed up and played exactly what we had hoped for. They had a flute and keyboard for our outdoor ceremony with lovely classical music and were perfectly on cue. They even took a lot of requests for songs from our guests during the reception (except for Portuguese music, haha! What did you expect, Auntie-in-law??). Our guests were certainly up and dancing all evening. Also, they didn't have a song in their repertoire (we chose a Chuck Berry song for our first dance) and they actually learned it for us! Lastly, the price was very exceptionally reasonable for the quality, their presentation and their talent. Why need a DJ when you can get such sophistication from live musicians? Highly, highly recommend for your wedding. Thanks, Bob Sabourin & Jazz in the Air!!

She sang standards and original compositions, and the vibe of the evening was warm as she interspersed her set with acknowledgements to her Cambridge family and friends in attendance, and the city where she grew up. The drinks were fine; the only complaint was our seats right by the door, which ordinarily wouldn't have been a problem except that the ceiling stage lighting to the left of the stage was in our eyes which made it impossible to see the performer unless she stepped away from the center of the stage, which she didn't do often. There are few jazz clubs in the Boston area so I will always return to the Regattabar if there is someone playing I want to see. I find it a cozy environment although there are a couple of structural pillars that create obstructed viewing that aren't acknowledged upon ticket purchase. I've seen folks seated in those areas; If I ever am placed behind one I will definitely ask to be moved or leave and request refund.
