This is a beautiful location - and there is dog-friendly outdoor seating. Service is excellent. The food was good. Highly recommend mussels. My Avacado salad had too much dressing. I would order dressing on the side next time. My mom had the cheeseburger with cheddar cheese. She really enjoyed it. Very relaxing location. Wish there were a few more food options.

Must try Crab Cake Banh Mi. This house made crab cakes with spicy mayo, chilis, cilantro, cucumber and carrots are spot on for flavors. The buttered baguette is lightly toasted and married these ingredients to perfection. Catie, our server, is friendly and very professional. You have a choice to dine in or outside. On this great afternoon, outside dining was the perfect decision to enjoy the many boats docked at Crosby Boatyard. I highly recommend Chart Room for your palate.

An embarrassment of lobster roll riches
    Sarah P.

I consider myself a bit of a lobster roll connoisseur and was pleased with the Chart Room's straightforward take on my favorite sandwich. No muss, no fuss...just a heaping pile of lightly dressed lobster meat with a smattering of crunchy celery atop a lettuce leaf and buttery, toasted bun. The potato salad side was bland and forgettable, but who cares when the lobster is the star of the show anyway. The location smack dab in the middle of a bustling boat yard made for a charming lunch experience too. Totally worth a visit!

Oh no! Lunch unveiled a shocking discovery: the portion of meat for the full lobster salad (now market priced at $31) is around half what it was last season. Guess I'll stick with the swordfish tips, and their newly sampled and delightfully spiced Bloody Mary. Tough pill to swallow, though, especially with the level set in their launch summer.

This could have been five-stars, but on a slow night (only four tables dining), our wait person continually disappeared. The…read morebluefish pate itself was good, but rather on the salty side, so serving it with salt and vinegar chips made it pretty much inedibly salty (this was taken off the bill when the bartender noticed we didn't eat more than one bite each). My first glass of vinho verde wine was served at room temperature (the second was fine), and the side plate I was given was crusted with dried food residue. I also watched an employee behind the bar wipe her nose with her hand and then continue slicing citrus barehanded. The chicken empanadas were good but not particularly special. We also had one of the small pizzas, which was the best thing of the night, crispy and flavorful (with a little char at the edges, which we like). The decor is a little bananas (different shades of green between the walls, the napkins, the barstools, and the banquettes; five kinds of lighting fixtures; lots of sound and lighting items with exposed, hasty-looking wiring). The bathroom door doesn't really close and lock properly. And the restaurant is really loud, even half full. The writing on the menu, about family members and special recipes, tells me that there's pride here and real care about making a good restaurant. However, without the attention to detail (particularly cleanliness and hygiene!), that's kind of moot. Three stars instead of two here because the pizza was good and the staff obviously care about customers.

The restaurant looks much bigger from the outside than when you actually get inside. There is an entry foyer and a dining room and Tavern in a separate room. I pictured the restaurant to be much different than it actually was. We sat in a booth in the Tavern. It was a busy weekend night and was rather loud in there from patrons at the bar. The music seemed to be primarily 70's rock. The service was excellent and waitstaff were very attentive. I had a cup of the squash bisque which was a recommendation of one of the waitstaff, sour dough rolls, and then half broiled chicken, mashed, broccoli and cranberry ginger chutney. The chicken was moist and tender and the bisque was creamy and smooth. Veg and potato were delicious also. I think the cranberry chutney would be better without the ginger as it had a strong ginger taste and cranberry would have gone better with something like orange or nuts in it. I had a glass of Berringer white zin and for dessert, the toasted almond cake. My friend had white clam chowder, scrod, with mashed and broccoli, and a molten lava cake and she enjoyed hers as well. Be sure to sit in the dining room if you go there on a weekend night because the bar is very loud. Everything was very good. My only complaint would be the loud dining area.

We also tried the meatloaf, and it genuinely reminded us of our grandmother's from years ago -- comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. That's not something you find everywhere. Even in the middle of winter, the place had a warm, lively vibe. We ended up having a great conversation with someone we later found out was the owner -- just chatting about everyday life.
