The Chartroom's bathroom deserves its own episode of Hoarders. First stop: the trash can overflowing like it's auditioning for Old Faithful, tissues cascading onto the floor while a wicker lid sits helplessly on top for what reason? I don't know. Then, you pull back the shower curtain - yes, there's a shower only to find it doubling as a storage locker for cardboard boxes and mystery electronics. Because nothing says "fine dining" like using the restroom next to old office equipment. The finishing touch? A fake palm tree tipped over on the floor, as if it just gave up on life after witnessing the whole scene. The vibe is very much "warehouse with a dive bar dream," and that dream clearly ended in bankruptcy. The food was just as tragic. My entrée tasted like someone Googled "how to cook" and then immediately closed the tab. Flavor was nowhere to be found, probably hiding in the shower with the electronics. And the service? Let's just say our server treated every request like we were asking them to donate a kidney. Water refills were slower than a sloth in traffic, and the enthusiasm level hovered somewhere between DMV clerk and hostage negotiator. To add, the hostess was walking around barefoot! Crosby's was recommended by a local couple and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the Lobster Roll amazing. The best part was due to my misfortune. I inadvertently left my credit card ther. I called when I got home 3 states away. Kevin, one of the staff located the card and said the would mail it. I thought it could be a " Yeah the cards in the mail" situation. Not only did he mail it but followed up with another call and text. I know it's not the end of the world to cancel a card but this one had every reoccurring charge on it and I appreciated that the staff there was so professional and attentive after the sale. read more

Kinda got the wrong idea from the web searches. This is more bar than restaurant. The drinks are unique and a bit confusing if you aren't familiar with the brands. Turns out four roses is bourbon.. the clam chowder was perfect as it should be in cape cod. The sauce on the chicken wings was delicious and they were perfectly crisp. This is a beautiful location - and there is dog-friendly outdoor seating. Service is excellent. The food was good. Highly recommend mussels. My Avacado salad had too much dressing. Just because it's off season, the service shouldn't suffer. Late afternoon on a Saturday on the water should have been a dream. We were met by hostess and sat down as expected and pleasantly. After that, we sat for 20 minutes with no wait staff coming to attend to us. We sat right by the door so we weren't hidden. Even tried politely to get their attention but to no avail. Must try Crab Cake Banh Mi. This house made crab cakes with spicy mayo, chilis, cilantro, cucumber and carrots are spot on for flavors. The buttered baguette is lightly toasted and married these ingredients to perfection. Catie, our server, is friendly and very professional. You have a choice to dine in or outside. On this great afternoon, outside dining was the perfect decision to enjoy the many boats docked at Crosby Boatyard. I highly recommend Chart Room for your palate. read more

We had a party of six. We ordered wings and mussels for apps. They were both very good. We all had drinks... very pricey! Be prepared! Hubs ordered the burger and I ordered a chicken sandwich without the bun(no gf options). Both dishes were ok. Everyone seemed to be fine with their dishes but seriously not thrilled. Its the typical pay a lot for sitting near the water. Let's talk servers though. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 3 is because our server, Liam. He was spot on and he was super busy. Bartender Kyle was obnoxious and flirting with women right next to us was truly hard to watch. He then denied have my family claiming they had fake ID's even though I am there legal guardian and they had the same address. None the less are all over 21. Asked if we called police to verify and he claimed nope sorry. Ruined our night. Manager Kevin wasn't helpful, and didn't even apologize in the slightest. Views were 2/10 they have a valet service that blocks half the view. We ended up going to foxhole and Anejo that night vibe was 9/10 I'd recommend going there if you want ti have fun. I consider myself a bit of a lobster roll connoisseur and was pleased with the Chart Room's straightforward take on my favorite sandwich. No muss, no fuss...just a heaping pile of lightly dressed lobster meat with a smattering of crunchy celery atop a lettuce leaf and buttery, toasted bun. The potato salad side was bland and forgettable, but who cares when the lobster is the star of the show anyway. The location smack dab in the middle of a bustling boat yard made for a charming lunch experience too. Totally worth a visit! read more

I wasn't expecting it to be as delicious as it was! I was expecting ho-hum beachy-town pubby food. (Get there early if you want to sit outside). A lot of the oil rich golfers get there and they can be pretty rude when it comes to their seating especially if they are members of the club. But that's not the restaurants fault. The swordfish was so fresh it will slap your mama! We had the dinner swordfish and the tacos. Both equally fantastic! Ok wine list a bit overpriced but that was to be expected. And the carrot cake?! Holy smokes their pastry supplier can bake up a mean slice! Lovely to watch the sunset. Small and cramped with great service and good food. Service is very sub par, bartenders seem like high schoolers that's are trying to be liked and manager seems like he lost a varsity football game and has something to prove. Denies anyone who is not from Mass and says they are underage without even looking at the ID. Food came overdone do not come here if you are visiting. View isn't as great as everyone makes it seems it's a shipyard. Food was good but bartenders and managers suck sell over priced drinks that transparently suck. The best views of any buy or restaurant in Osterville. Prices are on the high side for cocktails in food but what you're paying for is the views in the atmosphere which can be beat. Friendly bartenders and weight staff and plenty of fun conversation around the bar. This is a must visit when spending time in Osterville. read more

Oh no! Lunch unveiled a shocking discovery: the portion of meat for the full lobster salad (now market priced at $31) is around half what it was last season. Cute, very intimate spot on the harbor. Food is average. My review and one star has little to do with the food and everything to do with the staff. I usually don't leave names, but the hostess working during our visit was just so rude, it needs to be shared. We all happen to own restaurants on the west coast. We know all too well about the challenges in running a restaurant. It's not easy simply put. We have been coming to this location for years, long before it was called "The Chart Room at Crosby's". I have never witnessed anything quite like the attitude of Rachel to the point where one must assume she's a relative of the owner, as I cannot imagine how she even has employment. Her behavior was horrible and as she happens to be the first person you speak with upon entering, it soured our entire evening. Very Sad! read more

I like this place-- low-key, old school bar and fish house tucked into a small marina in Osterville. Only about 8 tables indoors with maybe a half dozen more outdoors on a covered porch. Nice big bar. Doesn't seem to take reservations but pretty organized in managing the line while you can have a drink outside or at the bar. The food is standard seafood house and it's good. Best clam chowder I've had during my two weeks in Cape Cod. Recommend: chowder, clams casino, whole lobster, chicken salad in tomato, lobster roll. Not too much mayo in any of the mayo-based salads. read more

What an awesome little find on Cape Cod! It's in a marina area and a little hidden but it is worth finding. There's no ac inside so it can get hot but I suggest sitting outside. The view is absolutely fabulous! We started with steamers...two pound portion and delicious. I had the steak tips and my parents both had the fish tacos. Both highly recommended. Service was fast and very friendly. There was a wait for outside and we thought we'd be waiting for hours but we were sat within 20 minutes. Prices are reasonable for the great service and the excellent atmosphere. Looking forward to going back soon! read more

I went to the chart room a couple of weeks ago because of the reviews here on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. I always like trying out new places. I used my GPS to get there because I didn't know the area and when I got there I didn't know which building to go to. I parked and saw a country club and didn't know if this was the place (which had a private function going on with a detail police officer). I walked around the lot and didn't know where to go, so I asked the police officer and he pointed to where I should go. Glad he did because I wouldn't have guessed to enter from the back of the building. The actual restaurant is pretty small what what I saw. It had a nice bar and maybe 8-12 tables. The view was amazing! They did have some outdoor seating too which I'm sure you would have needed reservations for because of the nice view. I went on a slightly busy night so I'll cut the staff some slack. I sat at the bar and waited for to get acknowledged. Finally did and was able to get a drink/food menu. Not a bad selection. The couple sitting next to me were locals and loved this place. They knew most of the patrons, but didn't know the current staff too well. The bartender wasn't a bad guy but he just didn't seem into the whole bartending gig. Never really smiled and just wasn't on top of the game. I saw him look at the drink menu often to see what the ingredients were, so I'll just guess he was new. I ordered wine which was delicious. Second sip in I saw a little fruit fly doing the backstroke in my glass. I'm told by the bartender that fruit flies love red wine. Never happened to me before, but I'll take his word for it. I order the lobster bisque which was really good. If judged the entire experience on just the bisque I'd give it 5 stars. It has large and small pieces of lobster in it and the bisque was creamy yet not too rich. I kept the empty cup of bisque in front of me for a while until I was asked if I wanted something else to eat and drink (again it was slightly busy and I think inexperienced bartenders. I've seen worse!). One item that caught my eye was the lobster mac and cheese. Went to order it and it wasn't available. Figures! So I went back to the drawing board and order the broiled cod. It was a fresh piece of fish, but then again it's the cape so I expect that. That's all I can really say about it. Not a lot of seasoning and just bland. The atmosphere is hard to explain when I was there. It wasn't bad at all, but everyone had on polo shirts and khaki shorts. I actually felt I was in a country club or some sort of private club setting (glad I put on a collard shirt for the evening!). I asked the bartender if this was part of a private club and she smirked a bit and said it wasn't but the building they are situated in was private (they occupy the lower level), next door was a private club and on the other side was a private club. You also had do drive by a golf course and golf card crossings to get there. That explained a lot. Yelp says it's a kid friendly place, which I'd disagree with just from atmosphere. I didn't see a menu but I didn't ask for one because I didn't need to this time around. I'll probably try it again and hope to have a better review then! read more

Very nice to sit outside by the boats. Everyone except me had a great lunch. The clam chowder was thick but tasty and not smothered in potatoes, but there was a piece of paper in it :( , had the most BLAND fish tacos with a burnt tortilla, even my cape coffee tasted tinny. Would have complained but was treating others to lunch. They all enjoyed their meals so I can recommend the burger, chicken sandwich, crab cake and lobster Mac and cheese. "4 mudslides?"hmmmm.. sure? The response we got when asking what they had on draft. Thus, we started our day out early, and very strong. I am not sure if they are known for their mudslides, but they were good. And strong. Very strong. We came here with a group of 4 on a Saturday late afternoon, and had a bit of a wait. Thankfully, the view is stunning, and they have ample outdoor space to wait or to dine. We didn't even notice the time pass (probably due to the strong drinks). We ordered a variety of lunch/dinner dishes, and were overall very impressed. The food was filling, flavorful, and fresh. It was perfect given the location, the timing, and the convenience. Would I go out of my way to go here, or to say its the best restaurant in the area? Probably not. But it is perfect for what you need it to be, in the area. read more

Second try at this place and let's just say it did not impress. The food was decent but the service was horrible. First time there we waited for an hour and half and still no food. When we couldn't keep the kids quiet any longer we asked to cancel the Children's food as I was going to take them home and we were told cannot cancel and they would wrap it to go.... Yesterday we went again after the Falmouth Road Race and mY wife ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and substitute balsamic dressing. The salad came out and there was both dressings in it, when pointing this out, the waitress told her no there was no Caesar dressing on it and brought more balsamic. My wife then found more Caesar dressing and asked for a new salad. The new salad came out with balsamic but no chicken. When asked to take the chicken off the bill the waitress rolled her eyes and told my wife that she had eaten the chicken on the first salad and that she should charge us for it but then with a reluctant sigh stated she would take it off. This isn't what I expect from a nice establishment in Osterville. I guess we will stick to crisp, whimpy's and five bays! read more

On the fence with 3 or 4 star review but decided on 3 as I just wasn't wowed with this place. It is located on marina overlooking boats but it's a small marina and feels like it's located in a back alley...weird feel to me. They have a window to order and drink on tiny porch outside that is great idea. Ordered my main stay Vodka with soda water and wow do bartenders have heavy hands! Ate inside, inside is like outside nice but something about it making not great atmosphere for me. Service was quick and attentive but our waitress is lacking in personality very mechanical. Ordered scallops, they were good tasty and right amount of bread crumbs and good sauce. Came with rice or potatoe I ordered rice ok nothing great nothing bad just average as were carrots, which was only option for vegetable. Prices were good portions decent. Overall an ok place, I see it more as a place to go for drinks than to go for food. read more

I was here for the first time a few night ago. It was cloudy for most of the day but ended up being a lovely evening with a great sunset. We started with the steamers. They were delicious. Perfectly cooked and tons of them! I had the lobster salad on Portuguese bread. The lobster was cooked nicely And I liked the crunch of the celery. It wasn't too coated in mayonnaise. The bread was ok, didn't eat much of it. The food tasted the same as the Chart Room in Pocasset and the menu was the same. Since the night ended up being nice, we ate outside. However, There were so many bugs! My skin was crawling after we left. I am very partial to the other Chart Room and probably wouldn't be back to this one. It felt a little unfinished and weird there was a shower in the bathroom. Since I can get the same food at the other one and I like the view so much better, not sure if I'll be returning. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I wish I could give it 0 stars and recommend never going here. We arrived and requested an outdoor table. The hostess told us it would be an hour wait, which we were okay with because we planned to grab a drink as we waited anyway, and put our name in. Upon going to the walkup bar window to order drinks we were informed we could not do so. When we asked why nobody could give us an answer. We then walked to the car and sat there. As we sat in the car we watched other people accessing drinks from the walkup window and realized ourselves that only people sitting on the bench next to the window could order drinks. Annoying that nobody working there explained this to us, but okay now we know. We then received a phone call saying our table was ready. We walked into the restaurant and the hostess pointed to a table inside...with no chairs...and said our table was ready. We informed her that we had requested an outdoor table, not to mention the "ready" table had no chairs, and she said nothing was available outside at this time and that they were waiting for more chairs to become available. So, we had to continue waiting. We were able to get seats on the bench and ordered drinks from the what appeared to be security staff from the walkup window. Honestly, the two guys working this position were the only ones that seemed to know what was going on, were friendly, and were doubling as busboys to help out the other staff. As we sat and enjoyed our drinks, one of the few things we enjoyed all night, tables outside became available...with chairs. Parties that arrived after we did began to be seated. We then said something to the hostess about how we were still waiting and she rudely reported that they had already called us to say our table was ready. We explained that this was when they tried to seat us at an indoor table that did not have chairs and she responded that they had called after this. We had no missed calls and we had been sitting at the bench for another 45 minutes without anyone mentioning a table was ready. We had also gone in to ask if there were any updates on when the table might become available so they definitely knew we were still waiting. After finally being seated we asked the waitress if we could speak with the manager. The waitress said she was sorry for the interaction we had had and the manager would be right out. 20 minutes later, we still had not seen the manager. We asked the waitress about this and she said things were very busy and he could not make it out, but she assured us that she had told him and that he also apologized. Dinner was fine. We ordered crab dip, fish tacos, and lobster rolls. On the way out we asked the security guys if the manager was even working as we had our doubts. Sure enough, they said the only manager in that night was the kitchen manager. Needless to say, I will never be going back here. read more

I got the steak tips and they were slimy and grisley, absolutely the worst I have ever had, not edible at all. My mother in law had the salmon and it was overcooked and dry and the asparagus semi raw. The burgers were tasteless. The server was nice but when I sent back the steak tips they took them off the bill but were going to charge me for a burger to replace them. I'm sorry but for the inconvenience I should get my meal comped completely! Will never go back. read more
