Encore Nails gets the job done- not great, but not as bad as some of the other reviews suggest. There is a decent nail color selection (not sure about gels). They have massage chairs available for pedicures. The employees were all very friendly. I only give it three stars because the paint on my manicure was poorly done (I hate to say I might have done better myself, but I think it would have been a close call), the girl who did my pedicure started and finished before the other two girls sitting near me, so it felt like she rushed me a bit, and my eyebrow waxing was a little uneven. Again, nothing I experienced was bad, just very very average. I will likely try a couple of other places for comparison and will report back. read more

We are contemplating moving to Boulder and I'm loving checking out the local establishments and I can't get over how kind and wonderful people are in this town... Until I entered this nail salon. The gentleman working the desk is nice, but the woman that did my pedicure had it done in approximately 15 minutes, and had a terrible attitude. She is the rudest person I met since I've been here. I will not be back. Fastest most overpriced pedicure done by a cold, rude employee ever. Clearly the owners need to read these reviews and get rid of these unhappy employees. People go to a nail salon to relax and be pampered. Doesn't happen here. read more

The. Worst. Manicure. Ever. Period. I could maybe overlook them being so unfriendly (though this IS Boulder and most people are happy here) if only the service was good. But it was awful. Cut my (nice length) nails in a choppy fashion, hacked away with a file and then some polish. One coat. That was it. No second coat, no top coat. Nothing. It's not even a day later and of course the polish is chipping. I agree with Deana S. - sloppy, fast, terrible. Do not go here! I really like this nail salon, I had Debbie do my nails I got the pedicure and gel nails. She did a really good job! The place is comfortable and relaxing, they even give you bottled water. My nails look great and they took their time and care when working on me. I will be back. read more

Really pleased with my experience!! Besides the high price for just getting your nails done, they were done very well. My acrylic nails actually stayed on for almost a month until I started getting antsy and picking them off. My nails looked amazing after and I am very satisfied. I just got my nails done and they did a fantastic job! They asked questions every step of the way to guarantee I was happy with the outcome. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Not only that but their selection of gel polishes was phenomenal. I will continue to give them my business! The only problem I have was a few tiny bubbles were left on my nails. They were nice and the salon was clean. I enjoyed the service, but the quality is pretty low. I got my nails done 4 days ago and my toes look fine, but every single one of my fingers is chipped or almost completely scraped off. I didn't do anything like gardening or work all weekend that would make me expect this much damage. On September 3, 2017 I experienced the worse pedicure that I have ever had in my life. I took my daughter and granddaughter for pedicures and hoped for a fun experience. The people here were unfriendly and actually rude. It was anything but enjoyable. I had to ask the person doing my nails to clean off the old polish better. When she polished my nails she didn't even clean up the polish around the edges on my toes. Very poor job. read more

I absolutely love getting my nails done at this establishment. I prefer this salon over all of the trendy high priced salons that Boulder has to offer. The staff are friendly and ask for your preferences on everything before making any moves. I had Debbie to my gel manicure last time and I am absolutely in love with the color and execution. Usually my gels only last two weeks before peeling off, but I have had them on for a full week with no signs of peeling anytime soon. I went for the first time today and got a full set of acrylics. The staff were very friendly and polite and the gentleman who did my nails very methodical and precise. He appeared to care that my nails were the length I wanted and that I was happy with the shape. His attention to detail meant a slightly longer visit but a great result. I was not impressed. I took my daughter in to get her nails done with me, and she had a great experience! they were very sweet with her and she looks great. for me I felt very rushed and not enough time was taken to have an entire pedicure experience. my feet were probably in the water for no more than 5 minutes before he drain the tub and moved on to the massage. The massage lasted for a total of 4 minutes for both feet. he was very aggressive not paying attention and was really hurting me. I really wanted more time to soak in the water and enjoy the experience. I work on my feet all day and just really need the pedicure. nail polish was perfect everything else was fine, but even when I got my manicure it was so fast. my nails look great but I feel that I was charged far too much so the service I received. all in all me and my daughter were in and out of there for a mani pedi with in 30 minutes. if I ever go back there I would just go for a Polish change. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON IF YOU NEED TO BE IN AND OUT WITHIN A REASONAL TIME PERIOD. I made a reservation for myself and 4 other friends here at 5:30 on a Thursday. We had a commitment at 7, and the lady on the phone had assured me that we would be finished by then. When we got to the nail salon and checked in, they looked at me in shock when I said that there were 5 of us... After we had already confirmed the reservation earlier that day. We waited for about 15 minutes until they took one of my friends back, and proceeded to take an hour to do a simple manicure while the rest of us sat and waited. The lady who was doing her nails would stop and talk to any person who walked by, disregarding the fact that we had reminded her again about our time limit. In the end, only one of us was able to get her nails done. I was very disappointed in the service and would never come back to this nail salon. read more

Pedicure was awesome and very well done, but then I experienced the oddest thing ever - she did my manicure in the massage chair! It was not good at all. I don't want nail polish and chemicals getting on my clothes. I have no idea why they kept me in the chair. I'm 8 months pregnant so was that it? Just weird. The manicure was poorly done (no surprise when I'm in a chair). It was sloppy and smudgy and I could have done way better myself. Not to mention my two cuticles which bled. I tipped way too much too - but I didn't know she was going to keep me in the chair like that. I should have said something but didn't. I won't ever go back. read more

This is without a doubt the WORST manicure I have had in my life, and I have had a lot of manicures in my life. I went to this place because it got decent reviews on yelp, but I am beyond dissatisfied with the final product. My manicure was completely rushed, and the woman who was doing my nails rushed off to start another manicure before mine was even finished; the 15 year old girl answering the phones had to finish my manicure. On top of the terrible service, my nails look TERRIBLE; there was polish all over my fingers, the paint was bubbling before I even left, and she put such a thin coat of polish on that I can see my nail through the paint - and what's better, when I asked her if she could please paint another coat so I couldn't see my nail, she wanted to charge me $4 extra! Never in my life have I experienced such a horrendous job. I will never ever go back there, and I suggest that everyone who doesn't enjoy paying money to redo your own nails when you get home steer clear of this place. read more

pros: 1. large, clean space with comfortable chairs/ 2.They seem to always have at least one person there who speaks English. 3. I have stopped in at least 3 times and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes and usually can get in right away. I do stay away from peak hours . cons: 1. I have used quite a number of salons in Boulder over several decades. This is the only place where the attitude of the people in charge has consistently been unpleasant. They seem irritated/grumpy and are simply not friendly or customer oriented. 2. I tried again recently and in addition to the unpleasant attitude, the technician was so aggressive trimming my cuticles that she both kept hurting me and managed to actually cut me which turned into an infection. Two full weeks later I am still nursing the scabbing. 3. I just tried to remove my dark toe polish and discovered they had not put a clear undercoat which resulted in staining my nails. I had my eyes closed during the pedicure so did not notice. However, I know when it has been used or not due to the way the nail and surrounding cuticle stains. 4.They would not give me a mask. I have never been to a salon - even the cheapest ones- which would not supply a mask on request. I will not be returning. read more
