I stopped in for a hot fudge sundae and left with more than just a treat -- I left with a genuinely positive impression of the team working that snowy, blustery Saturday (Dec 6th). The sundae itself was great: served in a smaller cup, but filled generously and overflowing with all the good stuff. What really stood out, though, was the staff. A young boy (around 10), a thoughtful teenage girl (about 17), and a friendly young woman in her 20s all provided exceptional customer service. Each of them was respectful, attentive, and remarkably kind. I also felt that they picked up on my neurodivergence and adjusted their communication in a considerate, supportive way -- something I deeply appreciate and don't take for granted. Their warmth and awareness made the experience that much better. Those three team members deserve credit for creating such a welcoming, customer-focused environment. They turned a simple sundae stop into a genuinely uplifting moment. read more

My sister bought 3 ice creams total today: 2 butter pecan in cups and one mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. They were 1 scoop but the ice cream was maybe 4 tablespoons each and it came to $18. What a racket!!!! We will never get anything from this store again. There are other ice creams places in town we will take our business to. Disappointed!!!! read more

A nice little Soda Fountain crammed into the front of a gift shop. It's nostalgic, but falls a little short on the details. I ordered a transitional chocolate ice cream soda and specifically asked it be prepared with vanilla ice cream. It was made with chocolate. We also ordered a chocolate shake. It was good, but we couldn't help but wonder how much metal we were eating. While it was being blended on the malt mixer, the soda jerk kept running the blades up against the sides of the shake can. Prices were fair for a tourist town and we enjoyed the refreshment. No seating aside from the 4 bar stools up at the bar. read more

We were up in the Georgetown/Idaho Springs area for the weekend. We were trying to waste time before dinner, so we started looking around the little shops. Ended up in here and saw they served coffee and tea. Ordered a couple of teas, and asked the guy working there for some suggestions on what to do to waste time. He told us to stop by Alpine Restaurant because they have some pool tables and arcade games, and also to go up Guanella Pass to Clear Lake. Neither of them disappointed! We decided to pop back in on our way home from our weekend getaway to get a couple more teas, hot chocolate, and an apple cider and to tel him thanks for his suggestions. Went back 2 years later. Nothing changed. Got 2 tshirt for niece and nephew. Georgetown rocks. The ice cream was ok. And right after we ordered the guy told us that just across the street there is a shop that actually makes the ice cream and they have 25 flavors. Eugh. Oh well, we will try another time. read more

First off, sloooow your pace down when you come to Georgetown. I ordered a delicious COFFEE HOT FUDGE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM MALT and settled into an old fashioned wood bar stool while it was created. The lady behind the counter was quite friendly and was willing to make anything I wanted. She suggested this and it sounded so good i couldn't pass it up. I wasn't disappointed, although the malt was WAYYY more than one person needs. Sugar rush galore. Yeah! :) Sugar crash. :( read more

Enjoyed our malts. Why the 3 stars? 1 star for service. The young lady with the long blond hair was obviously annoyed to be asked to make our shakes. We witnessed her attitude on 2 separate occasions (a week apart). She was more interested in watching something on her boyfriends phone than waiting on us. Not sure who employed this girl, but her attitude is terrible. No smile. Annoyance in her voice and body language. The young girl with brown hair was very nice and made the perfect malt. 5 stars for that. By the way, most ice cream shops know to make a chocolate shake with white ice cream and chocolate syrup (called a black and white). These guys make it with chocolate ice cream. By the way, they get their homemade ice cream from the Georgetown Candy company across the street. Those guys are super nice and enjoy helping customers. read more

I wrote to the owner of the store and told him not only of the incident that took place when we had gone there, but also of a previous incident that I read up on here on Yelp where this lady had used hate speech before. He was so prompt in his response and apologised to me and my family. After the disturbing incident it made us all feel so much better knowing that the lady got exactly what she deserved. Also, we feel better knowing that the owner of the store is not a racist hypocrite and that instead he is someone who does not take things like this lightly. read more

I stopped here for malts from the antique soda fountain after wandering around adorable downtown Georgetown. While imbibing, I talked with the incredibly nice woman who works here for awhile. Turns out the town's Bighorn Sheep Festival was the next day, but I couldn't stay as I had to get to a wedding. This was clearly my loss, as I can only imagine how cute it would be. The store was already decorated with drawings of bighorn sheep done by the local elementary students (one sheep was even holding an ice cream cone in his little cloven hoof). read more

We were walking around Georgetown and went into Colorado Wear to pick up some souvenirs. We had picked out about $150 worth of items, when all of a sudden we heard arguing from the front of the store. Apparently, the woman working behind the counter had called a customer a "f***ot" and she did so in Spanish so he wouldn't know what she had said. But it turns out that he knew Spanish and knew exactly what she had said! They argued for a bit, and she did not apologize. So that customer walked out of the store, and after hearing what happened, we put all of our items back, and walked out as well. Apparently, they are not interested in selling souvenirs to people they don't see fit. I just thought that people should know about this before they shop there. read more
