We visited Whitney for the eclipse and stopped here for dinner on Sunday night. The food was great but the service was even better. They had obviously expected a larger influx of out of town customers and had printed up event specific (abbreviated) menus and when I asked if regular menu items were available our waiter immediately said that they would make anything that I wanted. I ordered a margarita and asked if they could make it spicy and they added jalapeño for me. This is a bar and grill and has mostly pub food. It was a bit loud but there was a "quiet" section that we opted for that was a bit more chill. The waiter was a young guy (I wish that I could remember his name) and was SO attentive. So unfortunately our experience was two days of tragedy. The first day we had ordered a burger upon arrival. They told us the grill wasn't working so we swapped our order for a pizza. After about 20 mins of waiting, I went up to the bar and asked what the status of my food was. Turns out the oven hadn't even been turned on and they hadn't started my food. Instead of asking me what they could do to fix it, the bartender asked me "do you even want the food anymore?" Given I was hungry I did, and I proceeded to wait another 40 minutes for my food and when I was finally brought my pizza, the manager came up to me and apologized and insisted I come back the next day and he'd take care of me. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I came back the next day and ordered a bacon burger and onion rings. If the photo is an indication of anything, I was horrified at what I was served. I couldn't believe no one had quality checked the order before giving it to me and the cook had the audacity to come out and told me they were cooked correctly. Later I ate the burger, and it was incredibly overcooked, but by that point I was too frustrated to ask them to do anything about it. I had an amazing conversation with the bar manager, mother of one of the other managers I spoke to, and she told me that she told her son to take care of me and comp my meal and do whatever was needed to improve my experience. My meal the day was not comp'd and all the manager did was give me a discount on the onion rings, didn't even comp the entire thing let alone the whole order. The interactions and conversations I had with the restaurant workers generally were awesome, but unfortunately the service was less than acceptable. read more

Went here for dinner & drinks after the Spartan Ultra. Burgers were FANTASTIC, drinks delicious, it was very reasonably priced, & had great service. I split the bacon cheese fries with my friend - cheese was a little over cooked, but the giant pieces of real bacon made up for that. I had the double double burger with no bun, my husband had the appetizer sampler, my friend had the bacon cheese burger. Both burgers were hot, juicy, & hit the spot. Husband said the appetizer sampler was good not great. Margaritas were a bit sweet for my taste, but still good. The bartenders are very attentive and make sure your glass is never empty I believe one of them is named Stephanie and she is amazing and keeps you laughing! All in all the service was good. Portion sizes are large, the fresh fries were a winner with everyone in our group. The chicken basket is large, tasty, good gravy and the Texas toast added nicely to the chicken tenders and huge portion of fries. The mushroom Swiss burger was juicy and very good. The potion of fries you get is way more then most people can eat. My daughter spilled her water cut and the waiter was very gracious and insisted on cleaning the spill for us. Owner is destroying their food menu. I literally drive 40 miles to eat here. They had really good burgers, wings, and fries. The last time i went, my burger was over cooked, the amazing fries they had were replaced with inferior fries, and the wings were under-cooled. When asked why they changed the fries, we were told it was cheaper to provide customers with those instead of the ones people loved. Make no mistake though, they charge you the same for crap fries as they would for great fries. It should be in the owner best interest to provide customers with the best food imaginable, not cut corners and charge customers for subpar food. I have died a little bit since my first visit there 8 months ago. Needless to say, driving 40 miles to eat here is no longer worth the trip. read more

I'm glad this restaurant is able to operate during COVID-19. When the owner was there the service was spot on. I liked the black bean burger and my husband tried the brisket and loved it. I can't really comment on the food or service because I didn't get any. I was standing in line at the bar for a couple beers while my wife went to go get a table. About 10 minutes later she came back to me and asked why is it taking some long. I told her to watch. Someone walked into the place the people behind the bar got a smile and waved at them.
