Friend had to run an errand in G'bury, I came along & we wanted a late lunch. Ended up at Rockin S. We were greeted & seated promptly. Our server did okay, not great, at coming by the first time. I got a side salad w Ranch, a side of grilled/sauteed vegetables, and split some nachos w my compadre. Salad was a good size for a dinner salad, everything fresh. The veggies were super flavorful, probably sauteed in butter based on the flavor. Nachos were a decent portion & checked the boxes. Compadre commented about the prices, I reminded that when you're on the actual water you've gotta pay for the view and the uniqueness a lot of rstrnts can't offer. They acknowledged. We enjoyed our meal. Bathroom clean, but out of tp in one of the two stalls. Overall we liked the place. From the reviews it seems they have gotten much better w the food than it was under prior ownership. Hats off to them, the food was on par, not lacking in any regard. read more

It didn't seem super busy and the service was slow - waited for the food for quite some time. Kitchen was not attentive to detail as they forgot many things amongst our order. Waitress was nice but didn't check on us very often. Shrimp po boy was very disappointing. They forgot the tomato and it did not come with sauce - super dry. I had to ask for sauce. Bread was not toasted and crispy. Homemade chips were good. Shrimp itself was good with just dipping in tartar sauce. read more

We checked this place out for dinner recently and it was ok. Our server told us they were down to 2 fryers so it would take awhile for our food. We didn't mind as we had a seat by the water and were enjoying the breeze/views. We put our whole order in at once since we didn't know how long it would take for stuff to come out. The fried pickles came out first, before our drinks and they were cold. They had good flavor, but I think they sat out awhile and would have been better hot. My daughter enjoyed her popcorn shrimp. My wife liked her blackened catfish. My burger was ok. A little dry, but had good flavor. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger but they sent out a plain cheeseburger. I wasn't charged for the bacon, so it worked out. The views by the water and large menu are worth checking this place out. read more

Food / my catfish was the best in town. No kidding! Nachos were very good as well. Beer was ice cold! I don't remember her name but service was fast, cheerful and completely perfect orders were served. It was a bit too loud for us on the outdoor dock, but we put up with it. This place has finally done a180 degrees change from what's been the last several years. They will be one of our main go to places now. Great job Rockin' S!!! read more

I went in earlier today around 11:30 or so. I hadn't been in about a year so I wasn't expecting too much, but then my waitress laid the brand new menu down in front of me and I knew then things were going to be far, far different than before. I ordered the "Rockin' Bacon Cheeseburger" and to say it was improvement on the old bacon cheeseburger would be an understatement. The patty and vegetables were fresh, the bun was soft on top but crispy on the bottom, the fries were cooked very well and the sweet tea was delicious. I am happy to say Rockin' S's new owner has done an exceptional job turning the place into just another mid-tier burger place in Granbury into an outstanding restaurant worth going back to. Please ignore the bad rating and try Rockin' S, I have a feeling you will like it just as much as I did. read more

This place has gotten way better from when the old owners had it. The food was great. The atmosphere is great. Hell I like the place again.

Fast seating with a smile and the server was there seconds later. We shared the steak fingers and fried pickles. Both items were excellent. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the service was great. And, as a bonus, the well drinks are made like drinks should be made and the price is superb! We are definitely going to be visiting the S quite a few times this summer. read more

I'll admit, I avoided this place because of the bad reviews, but we decided to try it anyway. And let me tell you they have hands-down the best boiled shrimp you can find anywhere. We've tried the burgers which was really tasty and some other things. All the food was really good. We love the atmosphere come early to avoid the rowdy crowd. read more

Wow what a difference a few years can make on a restaurant. We've been here a few times in the past but stopped coming because we just weren't having good experiences. We decided it was time to do a revisit and I'm so glad that we did because this is a whole new place. We were greeted the moment we walked in the door, we were able to get a seat at the bar where the bartender took great care of us. We walked around the place to check out the upgraded patio and enjoy a little bit of the view outside. We ordered food to go and it was all excellent. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with House made chips, which was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in a while. My fiancé got chicken wings and tried the pig wings and loved both. The ranch is legit and any Texan knows that matters! Great experience and glad we gave it a try. We headed to Rockin's just to fish because a lot of people said there were plenty of fish to catch there. After arriving, we all got settled in where we were going to fish. A drunken man stumbled up to us, trying to have a conversation full of gibberish. Not even 30 minutes later, an old man walked right in front of us, whipped it out, and started taking a leak. We tried to tell him it was inappropriate -- we weren't ten feet from him, and there was a bathroom inside -- but he proceeded to stand there and argue with us about why he could do it. After letting it go, frustrated and about to leave, a woman started yelling from the patio of the restaurant: "Any of y'all have an issue?" and "Y'all can't fish here, it's private property!" At that point we were done, because she just kept getting louder and more intense. We called the cops, because if this many people were heavily intoxicated, odds were none of them had designated drivers -- plus a man had just exposed himself in front of us. Turns out, all the staff of the establishment were drunk and were family with the people who were yelling and urinating in public. All of the staff and customers had to wait 30 minutes for their DDs to come pick them up. What a trashy establishment -- and then they had the nerve to come at us, saying we were in the wrong for fishing from a sidewalk on public property. read more

Under New Ownership very recently. Disregard old reviews. Have you ever had a cheese burger that had more meat on it than bun? ..... one that takes a bit of work to get both pieces of the bun in your mouth simultaneously? Bet you've never had better french fry's. They have something on them that makes them crispier than any others we've had, yet they remain "meaty". Their catfish?..... you guessed it..... My wifes Best Ever! Do Rockin'S burgers cost more than those from other local hamburger joints? You Bet! Are they more expensive than 2-3 burgers from other places.... No. We live 1.5 hours away, discovered Rockin'S 3 weeks ago..... and have made 3 trips back for the BEST catfish, burgers, and fry's we've ever had. read more

Stopped by Rockin S in Granbury a few times with my wife and each time we've been very impressed! On Fridays they have all you can eat Catfish for $15 and $5 margaritas. Both are VERY excellent! Honestly the margaritas are better than all the Mexican restaurants I've tried in the area. My wife has ordered their chicken quesadilla and it's also better than the ones at the nearby Mexican restaurants. Service has been awesome as well eachtime and you can't beat the atmosphere being right on the water. They also have live music sometimes. Will be one of our go to spots from now on. read more

It's just like eating at the beach. Great location and waterfront seating. The service is slow, be prepared to wait. We sat inside but on the floating deck, it was hot the day we visited and with the constant movement one of my kids felt "seasick" so ended up in the main restaurant. HORRIBLE SERVICE & WAIT TIMES. After waiting what felt like 2 hours, we complained and magically our food came out. I had two kids and an infant during this time. I complained to the manager that we had been there for two hours and she *rudely* responded "you have NOT been here two hours. I can pull the ticket." She pulled the ticket and our ORDER was put in 1 and a half hours ago. HOW IS THAT ANY BETTER? Waiting an hour and a half for food is not normal. I said to her "ma'am that is not any better and our food didn't come out till the server realized we were upset." She then proceeded to SNATCH the ticket out of my mothers hand and yell "I GOT IT". The waiter had already taken our card and charged us the full $100. Do not eat here. Manager is extremely rude. Mind you, this was after we ordered 2 strawberry daiquiri's that came out as a pina colada. I didn't send them back, I just told the waitress that it wasn't correct and even KEPT the drinks as to not be difficult. $101 for an extremely rude manager is absolutely absurd. I've absolutely torn this place a new a$$hole a couple of times on here due to terrible service, drinks and food. I usually give a place two chances, even if it sucks terribly. Well, it had been a couple of years since I had written this place off. The setting has always been incredible. Great location, best spot on the lake, nice marina etc. But each time that I had been there, the service was nonexistent, the drinks ( if you ever got one) were awful, and the food was lousy. I went back there tonight to see a band that was playing. The difference was like night and day. Great attentive service from the moment we walked in and good drinks. We did not eat, but folks we visited with at an adjacent table said the food was good (and it looked good.) So it looks like they finally got some good management in there and brought their standards up to match the beautiful setting that they have for dining and live music there on Lake Granbury. I want to start by saying this is my first review and I think it's desperately needed. (Using boyfriend's yelp). My boyfriend recently moved to Granbury and we've been looking for bars to go to. After running through the three others in town, we decided to give this place a try, despite the horrible reviews. This place DOES have AC, fans outside, great service, great drinks. A stage outside for live music! It also looks recently remodeled. Perfect evening at Rockin S. Sat outside listening to two very different bands back to back. Queso & salsa was tasty; chips were just ok unfortunately. The grilled chicken club ( I asked for no bun) and subbed grilled veggies instead of fries was quite pleasing! The side of veggies was large, definitely shareable and full of zucchini & squash & small carrots. The service was absolutely horrendous. We were sat down and our waitress did not show up for another 20 minutes. We then ordered 30 minutes later and no refills were given. Food took over an hour to be served and was mediocre at best. Additionally the other workers were very unprofessional. They were obnoxious and constantly going in and out of the door to the dock. Brought my wife and kiddo up from Tintop by boat to grab lunch today. As soon as we pulled up to tie up to the dock, a worker was out to ask how many people/inside or outside. We came in yesterday, 2 out of the 3 ordered a dozen oysters. They came out with some type of seasoning salt on them with the ice in the plate halfway melted. Both of us were only able to choke down 4 of them. (We love oysters and have ate them from coast to coast) The manager told us that they prided themselves on their oysters and that we apparently didn't know how gulf oysters should taste. Now less that 24 hours later I cannot get away from my bathroom and the other person is still throwing up. If google is correct We have Vibrio, it will last for 2-3 days and I have a 1 in 5 chance of survival. I would post pictures but they would be way too graphic. read more

The worst experience I've had at ANY Granbury restaurant. The timeline is as follows: 5 minutes to get seated at a table(though tables were empty); 15 more minutes to meet our server and place drink/appetizer order; 20 more minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive/placing our entree orders, and 30 more minutes for the appetizer to arrive and place a second drink order; 20 minutes for the next margarita to arrive and the server to inform us that the kitchen was out of oysters; 40 MORE minutes until we left because our entrees were still absent. The server was doing her best, but the kitchen and bar absolutely failed her. If the restaurant wonders why they can't keep staff, that would be the reason. Quality: margaritas were average; Trio appetizer was 2/3 acceptable. Their queso was lukewarm and still thinner than hot KFC gravy. Guacamole was passable. Salsa was bland and could be helped with salt. I will absolutely never be back while this business is still run the way it currently is. That's over an hour and a half of my life that I'll never get back. read more

I went here with my wife and it was spectacular for what it is. It's a sports bar on the water. The food and drinks were good and the views were awesome. The service was good as well. Again I'm rating this based on standard sports bar expectations and this place exceeded those. Definitely recommend for a chill night out with a significant other or a night out with the boys. read more
