The new dentist caught the cavity and said that its so bad now they have no option but to remove my K9 and do an implant - which is $5,500 and not covered by nearly any dental insurance. This dentist screwed me so bad. This xray is from 2 years ago which they took at open and affordable dental - they never mentioned it or seemed to notice. Which is laughable because its so so so obvious. They just want your money, they are not looking out for your long term health. I (CAPITAL/BOLD) Mismanaged my treatment plan laid out by Dr. Richardson, deployed twice to Iraq, and decided to only have a temp crown for over 10 years. This resulted in bone loss which my general dentist would not load down the implant with a permanent crown as it would have been a waste of money. I returned to Dr. Richardson and started a new treatment plan. She removed my old implant, performed a bone graft, and then a new implant 4 months later. First, lets break down the procedures. For the most part painless, and if there was pain it was taken care of immediately. Everything was discussed, questions answered, and clear communication throughout the entire process. I had a special circumstance as I was in the middle of a transition and moving across the country. Dr. Richardson went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule, and requests. I have never seen a specialist work so closely with my general dentist on a treatment plan to work things out so that I could transition back home. The communication between her and my general (who is also about to get a stellar review) is something I am still speechless about. I am still not out of the woods yet as my implant has only been in for two weeks, but everyone who has seen the placement, x-rays, etc said it looks perfect. Second, let's talk about all the negative reviews on price, payment, etc. My general statement is "You get what you pay for". Are these treatments typically pricey, YES! If I cared about price I would drove my happy butt down to Mexico, cross the border (and my fingers), and get an implant in Tijuana. I however care more about the effectiveness, safety, and care I receive. For the people who think they hide prices, or are money hungry are just complete ignorant and wrong. I was communicated with every step of the way of what things were going to cost, etc. Also when they found out that my insurance was not going to cover a penny of my treatment plan it was communicated with me immediately to make sure I was comfortable with everything. Last I have to give a shoutout to the entire staff in Dr. Richardson's office! The front desk ladies are the best! Friendly, helpful, always willing to pick up the phone and get questions answered that needed to be answered. To the back office trying to get insurance companies to do anything to help me out. To all of Dr. Richardson's dental assistants who assisted with my surgery and appointments. Everyone greets you with a smile, and has a warm welcome. Hats off to the entire staff in that office for what they do. For anyone who has had a bad experience with them let me give you a word of advice. Treat someone well and with respect, and it will be reciprocated. Treat someone like a jerk and you should be kicked in the face and have to receive more dental work. I was having a lot of nasal issues and my general dentist did a 3-D x-ray and we found that both…read moreof my nasal passages were full of infection so I was recommended to an endodontist to which was found out that I had three infected upper molars and I would need to pay $6000 for a root canal on each of the three molars so I opted to have oral surgery and have the three upper molars extracted so my regular dentist referred me to Dr. Ryan Dobbs. Dr. Dobbs has a bit of a dry personality, but his staff was fantastic. When I called to schedule the consult, they got me in right away and anesthetized oral surgery was scheduled for the following week at my convenience. Day of surgery I was incredibly nervous because I don't trust Doctors or Dentists but Dr. Dobbs nurse, Jarra was absolutely fantastic and put me at ease! I was anesthetized and upon waking up and up until full healing after having three upper molars pulled, I never had any pain, zero issues! I highly recommend Dr. Dobbs and his staff for your dentistry needs!

Living in Denver, I get it, there is a lot of us and a handful of them, and I can empathize with that. What I take issue with is the complete lack of cross coordination, poor planning, and zero need for clear and timely communication. This place takes it to a whole new level. Starting with scheduling, I told them the appointment they were recommending would leave me a tight window to be able to meet my later obligations. I recommended another time but was told not to worry, a note would be made that I was scheduled for a 45 minute consult and needed to be out in 45 minutes. Gullible me, knowing this industry, fell for it and scheduled in spite of my better judgment. I arrive 15 minutes early, I filled out all the online check in docs beforehand (an extremely antiquated system that does not even store your previous entries so be prepared to type in the same thing over and over). The nurse calls me back just after my scheduled appointment, but still with just enough time to meet my time window. After the nurse sees me, I am waiting an hour and fifteen minutes to be seen. Nobody comes in with an explanation or an expected time. I finally open the door and explain to a nurse passing by that I need to leave. She says the doctor is on her way. Like I said, I am gullible, another fifteen minutes pass and nobody. Finally a nurse comes in to offer me a phone consult to finish the appointment. I accept and go on my way. Two hours pass and I get the phone call. Not much info I didn't already know was given to me and treatment options are presented. I ask for the third time today, can I have a price breakdown for those options before I commit, none is given until an email arrives a few minutes later with two wildly different prices on them and it made sense why I was being pressured to make a decision before I knew the prices. I gave it a lot of thought and I will search elsewhere. This level of customer service does not give me a good feeling about trusting this place with my health. I will look elsewhere. My advice is that you do the same.

The original consultation went well so I felt safe going through with the wisdom tooth extraction. The procedure itself perforated my sinus causing subcutaneous emphysema in my face, neck, and chest. She never bothered to tell me until the ER told me. No socket ever filled in, I'll get bone grafts next year. But that honestly wasn't the worst of it. Due to the ulcerative colitis I can't have heavy antibiotics or opiates. I generally just say I'm allergic to amoxicillin but also explained the interaction. She immediately prescribed 800mg amoxicillin and an opiate. Called to have her fix it. Just put in another prescription for 800mg amoxicillin. Took 3 tries until a different doctor at the practice prescribed a gentler antibiotic but at that point I was just trying my luck with amoxicillin because I didn't get that final prescription until a week later. Was a little worried about developing an infection. Went for the first check-in to see how things were healing. I was crying, terrified, and in pain. She leaned in real close and said, "what do you want me to do about it?" I've never been so horrified by a doctor and I routinely see gastroenterologists. I told my dentist about it and he immediately switched me over to Dr. Kevin Nguyen, whom I WHOLE HEARTEDLY recommend. Seriously incredible, actually listened to me, and will be the one doing the bone grafts. Fast forward over a year later: the amoxicillin and opiates did indeed do their thing. She bleached my intestines and destroyed gut motility...like I told her would happen. Intestinal yeast infection, SIBO, and C. Diff. All her fault. Three infections all IBD sufferers fear, and she made sure I developed each one. Before her I was close to remission. Not saying don't go to her. She's probably fine without such a nuanced case, but I do recommend secretly recording your visits with her. Phone in your pocket on record, even during the surgery. Colorado is a single-party consent state when it comes to healthcare professionals. You can record as much as you want without informing anyone. Do it.

It was like the doctor was jack hammering my mouth. I was then charged another $2,000 for a single tooth removal and that added trauma. Afterward, stitches and a plastic membrane caused weeks of pain, and I ended up removing the stitches myself. A month later, the plastic worked its way out of my gum. This was an expensive, painful, and poorly handled experience. Do not see this doctor if you have a previous root canal or crown that needs to be replaced. It's all about the revenue that they want to bring in. I was told payment in full was necessary even when the procedure was not completed. That should be illegal!!!!!
