This guy is honest, quick and teaches customers, if they have questions, about care and maintenance of their bike. So happy I found Jim. I was desperate to find someone to service my Felt after Get a Grip Cycles closed in Chicago. He works by appointment. Retired and wanted to work with his hands. I called him out of desperation after Spokes in Wheaton wanted to overcharge me $450 to replace tire, tubes, chain, seat. Instead it turned out to be simply a tube change and grease on the gears -- which I suspected. Jim even put baby powder on my seat to make it non-sticky after a move dinged up the seat. Can't say enough good things. He works out of his garage. He smokes a pipe. He prefers you to let him work while he works on your bike and then you ask questions. Again, old school artisan who is honest.

At the truck store in Michigan I just make an appointment and I come in and they do it the same day. Why do they have to hold my bike for 10 days. It's ridiculous. I was going to buy a bike for my daughter and I had my credit card out and everything and the sales person got snippy with my daughter when she asked about whether she could get a free water bottle because she got one with her last bike. I put my credit card away and walked out. I haven't been back since.
