Back on 6/1 or 6/2 I called and asked the lady that picked up that I have a Velotric being del and I would like them to assemble it and how long to take for it. She said 4-5 days cause they're kind of busy. Good it came in on the 8th and I took it right over and oh I will get it Mon or tues. he said we are now backed up for 2-3 weeks! I repeated what I was told and he basically called me a lied!I had no choice but to leave it because I borrowed the truck to get it there. I 6/20 I picked it up. A bike guy could assemble it in 1/2 hr When I got it home I had been told the battery would be charged. NO! No instructions AT ALL how to use it! The left hand grip was not tightened the nice looped covering to cover the wires at the handle bars were right next to the uncovered wires! I even bought a helmet so my cost was $140 for the have hr Job and $60 for the helmet. Let's see, yep that was $200 of easy money! I have been thinking of getting a bike for a while and after going to a few shops I found this place on Yelp - I tried to go here a while back but because of covid they were only taking appointments and they were very busy. Anyways, I got here and tried out two bikes and ended up buying a used bike actually. They cleaned it up nice and it looked brand new. What's a nice tidbit is they are located on the river which has a bike trail - so perfect place to test ride bikes. I can't compliment them enough, my first bike in over 40 years and I was wobbly to say the least. Pete our salesperson never laughed or made me feel silly. Another employee in the parking lot asked if he could help me with relearning at all. What a great group of people, the bike I chose was affordable and perfect for me. Every time we have had a quick turnaround and excellent work performed and the staff and techs are super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Most recently, my daughter's bike had a worn rear tire and she was dissappointed she couldn't ride so I called and Graham kindly asked me to bring the bike in for a look. I took her bike in and Graham helped me right away and suggested to use a black tire to match the body of the bike and he was spot on with his suggestion. He quickly changed the tire and I brought it back home to one VERY satisfied customer! I've been riding bikes my entire life and paying for them and their maintenance for about 20 years now. I've lived in Milwaukee, Phoenix and Dallas and Pedal & Spoke is the best shop I've ever worked with. They will spend whatever time is necessary to make sure you understand what maintenance needs to be done on your rig and exactly what you're buying. Their prices are always fair and there's never any pressure to buy whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned grinder. After you drop your bike off, they'll keep you updated with costs via email and phone calls; there are never any surprises. I do not trust my bike with anyone but Pedal & Spoke. I have three other shops much closer to where I live and they've all let me down. I take the extra time to head out to Pedal & Spoke every time. This has become my new bike shop. The people here are nice and knowledgeable. I went here for Specialized shoes and they gave me lower than MSRP for last years model (I favoured the colours better than the 2013 model...yes I am a woman...it does matter). They openly told me they are working on their women's cyclists equipment in shop since they only really carried a few items. The shoes that I want were on the higher end of the woman's shoes they carry. I appreciate their honesty about learning more and focusing more on the female cyclists (I wish more places were like this)...but they can order you what you want. I am excited to see what the future holds in that department. Once again a good store, nice people who know what they are talking about. With pricing on what a new bike could be, I would recommend finding/buying a cheap old one that needs work done to it and have them repair and tune it for you. This saved me alot of money in the long-haul with just buying the replacement parts for my bike. Anna was helpful and kind with going over the parts I needed to get my bike back on the road. I bought a new bike from this place last summer. I had heard good things and wanted an upgrade from the big box store bike from a few years prior (I had no idea what an enthusiast I'd become). I was treated like what I wanted mattered, asked for and received recommendations. I wanted a logical step up with a fear of over-commitment and test drove some and fell in love with a trail bike that I really enjoy. I took the bike in for its (free) first year checks this year. About 250 miles into this season, my back tire blew OUT. Fortunately, I was on the trail, no cash on hand, and walked the few miles to the shop. When I took it in, Pete (I think his name is Pete) told me that he would make the repair, let me go, get the money and pay for the repair. I thought that was pretty remarkable. I thought I'd have to arrange a money drop and me and my bike held hostage until the ransom money came. It gets better. When Pete pulled the thread, he said the tire appeared defective because the seam had ripped away. I questioned whether or not the 1200 miles on the tube may have had a part in that. I was willing to pay for the repair. He told me no. The tube is defective. There's no charge. I don't run into businesses like this very often. I love you guys. And I think I'll be in next year to look for a second bike. The good things I've heard about you are true. read more

I purchased a bike here at Pedal and Spoke and the employees were very quick to recommend and be patient while I picked out top of the line bike products that they sell at their store and were quite polite. It was a good experience, until the bike needed to be serviced a couple of months later . I took my bike into Pedal and Spoke to be serviced and explained to an employee the issues I was having with the bike which were that a tire had popped, I had been having trouble filling the tires with air, pedaling had become difficult, and I had crashed the bike a couple of times since purchase so I wanted it checked over by a profesional. My understanding was that they would check the bike over, call me with an estimate, and when I came to pick the bike back up, show me how to change the tire and sell me the tool to remove the tire for replacements in the future. The initial technician and I also spoke about the pump having issues which the initial technician also agreed that it sounded like the pump was faulty. But, this was before I mentioned that the pump had been purchased from Pedal and Spoke. Very little of what was said to be done with the bike while it was at Pedal and Spoke actually happened. I received a call a couple hours later saying that the bike was finished and ready to be picked up, when I asked to speak to the technician because I hadn't recieved a phone call with a quote, before service as agreed upon, I was told the technician was on break. The gentleman I was now speaking with on the phone listened as I explained once again that one of the issues with the bike I thought was the tire or the pump, which then my understanding was to bring the pump in to be checked over since it has been purchased at the time of the bike at the same shop and if the pump was found faulty it would be replaced free of charge which was nice, it's hard to find businesses who take responsibility for their products and take care of their customers. When I arrived to pick up the bike, the technician was once again on break, I was told he left no notes about the bike, and upon arriving the gentleman working emmidiately took my bike outside even while I was trying to ask him about the service done to the bike and what it ended up needing. He quickly took my money and told me another employee would show me my bike outside. Once I got outside, I once again started explaining the issues I was having with the bike and why I wanted it serviced to begin with, confused as to why I was explaining the issues my bike was having, for the third time, to a licensed bike shop. At this point, as this employee and I were speaking about my concerns with my bike, the gentlman who had been short with me just seconds ago, came outside, cut off the employee mid speech, to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the bike. As I once again repeated that I was having trouble with peddling the bike which hadn't been an issue upon purchasing and that that was another part of the bike I had wanted checked over, the gentleman from inside cut me off to tell me that the bike had no issues and went back inside. I found out later, that this rude gentleman is the owner, which I would imagine, did realize the pump was faulty, and didn't want to replace it. Or, they made a bigger mistake before I had purchased the bike by selling it to me with bad tires. Upon purchasing this bike, I realized that there was a problem filling the tires with air, but I dismissed it thinking a reputable bike shop wouldn't sell me a bike with bad tires (valves). Interestingly enough, now the back tire, which is the one I had replaced at Pedal and Spoke a few days back when this all transpired, now can be filled properly with air with my current bike pump purchased at the same time as the bike from Pedal and Spoke. The true icing on the cake, is they gave me back the bike with the seat raised so high I couldn't ride it, and they left it in the highest gear so it was hard to get it going once I sat down on my bike and tried to ride it away from store. There were no notes on what had been done to the bike, they claimed it had no issues even though they had no notes, but had clearly changed the seat level and the gears. My advice is, if you buy a bike from Pedal and Spoke, make sure you know your bikes and accessories first, and don't give them any critism or suggest something might be defective, because they'll go almost as far as to kick you out of the store, and again yes, this was the owner who acted the most rude of all the employees I encountered at this store. I just had another fantastic experience with P&S. Dropped off my road bike because my rear brakes were sticking bad, I had completely taken them apart and cleaned them up but no luck. Without hesitation I rolled it into P&S. When I picked the bike up, it looked the same but of course the brakes were tight and felt great. $35 bucks for a brake adjustment, sounded great to me, beats the hell out of three hours of me beating on it in the garage. It was not until I actually road the bike a few days later that the enormity of what they had done became apparent. I swear to god they completely tuned my bike. So yeah the brakes felt great, but then as I was shifting I noticed my 91' Giant's signature chain rub in the highest and lowest gears was GONE. The rub that I had spent so many hours trying to adjust away was no more and my lack of sound as I zipped down the bike path silently for the first time in years just put a huge smile on my face. They tightened everything down, the bike has never felt this solid. Does this mean that everyone will have this experience, maybe not, but at the same time this is the type of shop that strikes me as one that always goes the extra mile for you and your ride. read more

This is an awesome place that I recommend taking your bike to. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and knows what they're doing. We took our bike to another bike shop last year for a tune-up. Pretty much the only bike shop I enjoy visiting in the state. I feel like all the guys in the shop are willing to drop what they're doing to help out not only me but any customer that walks in. Not only are the very helpful I find that the repair service is top notch. Email estimates that include price breakdown and quality work impressed the hell out of me every time I've had them work on my bike. The selection in store is great, I bought my sons 1st bike there and recently added to my collection too. Oh and it's just not a good selection of bikes, they have the gear you want as well. Lights, bags, shoes, saddles I can go on and on but you get it.. Finally.. lemme just say their group rides are a good mix of fun and challenges, I hope to hit many this season.
