First and foremost, I want to genuinely thank Steve for his outstanding service, communication, and professionalism throughout the entire process. This was actually the second time I had to replace the drive unit in my Tesla P85. The first replacement was done by Tesla, and unfortunately this second failure happened just outside the warranty period. Needless to say, I was incredibly frustrated and honestly wasn't sure what to do with the car. I came across Steve through a Tesla owners forum and decided to give him a call after seeing so many positive reviews. Before speaking with him, I had already called five other shops that claimed to specialize in Teslas, and Steve was the only person who actually answered the phone. From the very first conversation, I knew I had found the right place. He spent a significant amount of time listening to my situation, answering every question I had, and explaining everything in a way that made complete sense. He never once tried to sell me on anything or pressure me into making a decision. He was simply honest, straightforward, and incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, he confirmed a lot of the research I had spent years reading about online, which gave me even more confidence. I trusted him so much after that first phone call that I literally had my Tesla towed to his shop without ever seeing the facility in person. Looking back, that probably sounds a little crazy, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. The turnaround time was unbelievably fast, the pricing was exactly what we discussed, and there were absolutely no hidden fees or surprise charges. What really impressed me, though, was how much he genuinely cared about the car. While it was in the shop, he noticed a few small maintenance items and even replaced my cabin air filter, which I had admittedly neglected for way too long. He also pointed out a couple of other minor issues, and when I picked up the car, they had already been taken care of. There aren't many 3rd party Tesla EV shops in LA. Luckily, Energized-EV has gained a lot of experience to help us out-of-warranty owners. It's best to go visit the shop. Messaging through Yelp or calling might not be the quickest way to get your car repaired. After a visit to Pomona, I took my Model S 2017 to Steve with an unusual, but really critical low coolant service alert. He booked my in the next day and I was able to pick it up at the end of the day. His team performed a pressure test and witnessed the leak. Luckily it was intermittent and had not affected the HV battery. The leaky hose was repaired and the coolant topped up. This is the type of work we all need done quickly and affordably. Tesla offered me an appointment 7 days away. And I guarantee the cost would have been more! Thanks Steve for being open late on Saturday. read more

Steve and his team are amazing! Tesla wanted a ton of $$ to fix my broken sub-frame and a 2 month wait...Energized-EV knocked this out in 2 days, just amazing. Their attention to detail is beyond awesome, they even matched the coolant module with a red one Car feels new again. If you haven't done the coolant delete on your Model S with big motor, it's only a matter of time before the coolant leaks past the inner seal and destroys the giant copper motor stater in your motor. These guys even do the hi-voltage battery rebuilds and replacement! My go too from now on. The best part, YOU GET TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON AND A COOL TOUR OF THE SHOP. I own a couple of Porsches, and any hard-core Porsche fan will tell you that if your car is out of warranty, don't use the dealer because they'll charge 2 or 3 times what a good independent shop will charge. But Tesla is different....or so I thought. When our 2016 Model XP90 needed brakes and rotors, it was reasonable. So when a bunch of warning lights came on, we dropped it off without worry. Tesla found the main front wire loom that had been damaged by mice, and had to be replaced at $4,000. They also stated that at 130,000 miles, the front correction links should be replaced for $2,000. Total out the door: $6,456. I asked for pictures of the mouse damage, and when I got them, it appeared to me it could be repaired, not replaced. I know mice, and they will return, so I asked if they could wrap the harness with Honda mouse-proof tape so I would not be back in a year. Tesla stated that could not repair the harness. I said OK, if I get the new harness, can you at LEAST wrap it with the tape? They said no to that, too. Tesla wants an answer QUICK when they have your car on a rack. I asked for an hour, and getting that was tough. I started calling repair shops. It's hard for a shop to say "Yes...we will repair the harness", but I can't tow it all over. On my third call, I found Energized EV in Pomona, California, and spoke with the owner, Steve. I felt at ease after learning he is an Electrical Engineer, and, frankly, he was a cool dude on the phone and seemed like he was the most willing to accept my requests. At the end of the day, the $6,456 repair cost me $900, and he wrapped the harness with the Honda tape. It did NOT need the front correction links that Tesla said were needed. He pointed out two other items that may need attention later, but not now. And lastly, because my wife will probably keep this car and run it into the ground, I had him do the Large Drive Unit coolant delete mod, which is pretty much mandatory for early cars, and that Tesla does not offer. He explained how his manifold mod keeps cooling intact while reducing the potential motor damage. Fantastic. All-in with everything, it was less than half what Tesla would have charged me, and I got much more. Lastly, they did an alignment and washed the car. It runs so much quieter now. We could not be happier. When we picked up the car, I learned of his background at Disney, flying around the world and working on the Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. And he's a gear-head, with a couple of track cars. I know this is long, but some businesses deserve a shout-out. This is one of them. read more
