Pleasant enough people but here's what happened. But oddly enough after a full priced icon coilover rebuild, when I went back in for "seal malfunction" relapse a month later. I had to ask about a noise that I later found out was the unreplaced worn spherical bearing they neglected during the rebuild. It would have been Pennies on the dollar for what it cost to ask around town, unfortunately DC just covered it with triflow (Twice!!) and sent me on my way. I found this out after thousands of more dollars of suspension work down the road, chasing the squeeking mystery goblin . When it was finally apparent that the noise was left over from theDC rebuild, they were good enough to complete the rebuild but not without charging a for another minimum visit $250 wow. That fixed the major recurrent noise but of course the heim housing itself is already out of tolerance so the bearing is wearing at an accelerated rate. I learned a lot. If only I'd had the help of experts I could have saved thousands. TLDR; Hybrid suspensions are expensive, do yourself a favor and save Month$$ of aggravation: simply replace at the rebuild interval unless you can diy, since authorized service establishments such as DC Shocks can be unreliable/unscrupulous. read more

I own a mechanic shop so customer service is very important but also quality is important. I dropped off my kinds to have them overhauled. Took a bit longer than promised, they said 7-8 days and it took 12 days, the quality of the job is great, shocks were returned clean. Since then I did a 66 miles off road trail and no leaks are present. Shocks feel nice and strong with no fade. Also it is a plus I could text the lady in the office for updates. Than you guys. Showed up when they opened up shop at 8am and they had my entire suspension system rebuilt and cleaned up by noon. Parts and labor were priced fairly. They even quickly diagnosed the problem I was having and let me know what was going on. Drop off and pick up was fast and easy. If I could leave a negative review I would. Long story short dc told me they could have my shocks rebuilt in a week and a half which is a couple hour job per a shock which I also needed shafts which are 2-3 days out from king I called king before taking my shocks into dc. So a week passes I call dc they say they need a few more weeks to rebuild my shocks because they were stuck on a truck and supposedly my shocks were all torn apart already. I went and picked them up and magically they were all together like they never been touched and was charged 140 to fill with nitrogen. I don't mind paying for nitrogen I don't like getting bent so keeping my shocks hostage is what it is I told them I was running Baja in 3 weeks at the date of drop off. Well anyways once I got my shocks I had them installed and first day in Baja both shocks were blown up and destroyed because because they switched my rear triple bypass with someone else's which in turn destroyed the housing of both shocks because under compression the leaf spring would hit the housing of the wrong shocks read more

DC was recommended to me by a friend who works in the truck suspension industry when I needed my shocks rebuilt. Unfortunately, I needed the rebuild while the supply chain was at a low point. The lead time was anticipated to be 2 weeks. After 5 weeks, I called the shop and let them know that I needed my Jeep back on the road as it's my daily driver. Kurt totally understood and apologized for the wait. My shocks were rebuilt but I was just waiting on one replacement shaft that was holding everything up. He said they'd get the shocks all put back together and he'd call me when the new shaft comes in, whenever that may be. I picked them up later that day. I'm still waiting on that shaft, but the shocks are in better shape than they were when I took them in. I called Curt (the owner) and explained what was going on. I took them in the next week and he went through all of them again and sent me on my way. I own a Ford Raptor with Fox shocks - big $$$ to rebuild & bigger to replace. Found DC Shock Services referenced & highly recommended on one of the Raptor forums. You can send your shocks in for a rebuild or come in for a RRR (remove, rebuild, reinstall). Though I'm two hours from their San Dimas location, I decided to drive down & try to get it all done in one day... Turned out to be a great decision! I called owner Kurt Youngs & made an appointment, first thing (7:30) on a Monday morning. I did have some doubts, having never been to Kurt's shop before. Visions of standing before a locked door went through my mind... My actual experience couldn't have been further from the case. Kurt was there & on time. My son & I walked to breakfast while he got right to work. When we returned to the shop, his associate John was working on the last shock & they allowed me to watch as it was rebuilt. The process was precise, specific & fast - John said he does 3-4 per sets of Raptor shocks a week. It was soon obvious that these guys are truly experts. Kurt and his crew at DC SHOCK are awesome. Bought a pair of Icon 2.5 CDCV shocks for my 2nd Gen Yota which had 4,300 miles on them . I contacted Icon to have them inspect my shocks or if they needed to be rebuild then they could rebuild them . Little did I know they no longer rebuild their own shocks . At this point I was dredging it because Its very hard to find a company who I can trust to work on my truck let alone parts for my vehicle! Icon recommended Dc Shock Service in San Dimas . They told me not to worry because this company has a great reputation and the turn around time for rebuilding shocks was quick . I quickly called Dc Shocks and explained my situation to Kurt " Owner of the Company " and he informed me it wasn't a problem to inspect my shocks or if they needed to be rebuild it would take no longer then a week at most !!! I stopped by the shop and was quickly greeted by Kurt . I have say this man knows his shocks inside and out . He quickly informed me that the shocks were in a great condition but it would be best to check the nitrogen level in both shocks and make sure there was no oil that came out of the nitrogen port . After confirming the shocks had no leaks and the nitrogen level was great we than set up an appointment to have the shocks installed , which was about a week for the next opening . Not a problem !!! This morning was my appointment so I made sure I was at his shop at 8am sharp . Kurt was quick to bring in my vehicle and wasted no time tackling the job . Kurt informed me that the passenger side shock which are my icon 2.5 without reservoirs had a leak and that he could rebuild the pair while installing my new set of icon 2.5 CDCV . I gave him the go for the rebuild since they will be my back up shocks for my front . The install and rebuild of shocks took about 2 hours . First off I'm not one to leave reviews good or bad. But here is a doozy I had a Icon Vehicle Dynamics front shock that was leaking. Went with DC shock services because I was referred to them by the Customer Service Rep at Icon. Apparently Icon no longer service their own products they have approved service centers they refer customers to. DC Shock Services is one of the service centers. I called was told if I mailed or dropped off the shock there'd be a week or so turnaround time. The other alternative was to make an appointment drop off my Vehicle and they can remove, rebuild and reinstall the shock. The same day. I went that route and paid DC to rebuild all 4 shocks and labor for removal and install. Around 1100 dollars for the service and bought stiffer front springs. Every thing went as planned picked dropped off at 8 picked up my truck a few hours later. Its been a month or so far, I check each shock once a week to see if there's any leaking haven't noticed anything. But I did notice a few weeks back while changing my oil and going over the trucks suspension. One of my ABS sensor wires had been ripped and electrical taped back together and a vacuum hose zip tied to the mounting point. Annoyed but no big deal 40 dollar wire harness from the dealer simple fix would of been nice if they mentioned this. Moved on with my life.. Yesterday decided to install some shock boots on the rear to protect the shaft from pitting as a added measure to prevent premature damage to the seal / shaft. Bottom shock bolt was harder than normal to get off threads stripped. Drivers side bottom shock bolt was on tighter than hell as well but at least the threads were fine. Dropped my truck at my normal mechanic to have him go over every bolt etc and fix the stripped bolt. Truck was purchased new in late 2016. It now has 30,000 or so miles. All in all I'd say a stripped bolt and ripped harness isn't a big deal more just an annoyance also. I'd probably drop off my shocks to DC next rebuild. Instead of having them remove and install etc or just buy KING Suspension since they are down the street from me and rebuild their own shocks. Yes that's a jab at ICON SUSPENSION.. Then rebuild the Icon shocks on my own keep them as spares. Icon shock leaked after a little over a year probably 20k miles of mild use just out of warranty. That's one Hunting seasons worth.. My old Truck with Radflos never had an issue.. I don't do any crazy rock crawling or neither am I trying to win the Baja 1000... Drive this thing to work and off road only during Hunting season jeep trails at best... just far enough to get to deep into the woods etc avoid other hunters. John read more

So I typically don't waste my time with Yelp mostly because i feel most yelpers are yappy whiners...but I have to say I was very happy to find DC Shock Services. I have a 2014 Raptor with stock Fox Suspension and had been looking to have my shocks serviced per the Fox maintenance chart (50,000miles for every day drivers who don't off-road much). I found DC Shocks via a Ford Raptor Forum and decided to check it out. These guys are great. They do exactly what they say they will do. I dropped it off at 8:30 and it was ready at 1:00pm exactly when he said it would be ready. They know what they are doing. In addition to the shock rebuild (all four) they also adjusted my front shocks to the mid perch position which was awesome. The truck feels like a different truck. Couldn't be happier with the look and feel. I highly recommend these guys if you are looking for a place that knows how to rebuild the Fox Shocks or any shocks for that matter. I went to 3 ford dealers looking for help with this and all 3 dealers didn't have a clue on what to do. Don't waste your time with the dealer. Just go to these guys and save yourself the headache. Kurt was very easy to deal with. He doesn't do the up-sell thing which is nice and will answer your questions if you have them. Keep in mind these guys are busy because they do good work so you will have to make an appointment. In addition to the great service I needed an alignment shop to redo my alignment which is required once you do the mid perch adjustment. He referred me to a shop that was unfortunately too busy to take me in when I needed it but, they referred me to a shop that I actually knew about. So even their referrals are good guys. To start I have a 2012 Ford Raptor. Im sure you already guessed that I needed a shock rebuild. I highly recommend DC Shocks and they have earned my business for life. I don't just look for a shop and choose them. I go through days and weeks of research, reviews, phone calls, etc before I finally trust a place to work on my cars. After countless shops telling me they have a week turn around time with no rush option (in a rude way I might ask), places saying they cant do it, or even considering the mailing/swap option, I finally came across DC Shocks and all their wonderful reviews on the raptor forums. One phone call and 10 minutes later I had an appointment. To comment on Kurts customer service, I wasnt sure at the time whether my truck had a leveling it on it. Despite me not knowing for sure, Kurt ordered a new set of mounting plates just in case, so if I didnt need them it would just extra inventory for him. I dont know any other shops that would order something just because they think a customer might need it. On the day of, I showed up at 0800 and three and a half hours later he was done. Kurt working on the truck was about as straight forward as you can get. He even showed me all the insides of the shocks as he was working on them. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and to put this in perspective I drove over 60 miles to get to him. Also afterwards I needed an alignment (removal of the spacer and mid perch change) and he took the time to call all his buddys to find out which one could take me immediately, since I was not from the area.
