I had been wanting to try this place for a while so I was happy when my coworker suggested we go for lunch. Bad idea. The place was relatively empty. Seemed to be more to-go orders than anything. We came and were seated. The server told us it was her first day so she didn't have answers to any of the questions that were asked. I ordered the blackened catfish pasta and my friend ordered the blackened catfish meal. After waiting for quite some time, the server comes over and tells us that it takes about 45 minute to cook our food since everything is made to order. So if we were on lunch break, it would be better to call in the order. 1- it doesn't take 45 mins to scoop pre-made pasta or grill catfish. 2- You probably should have told us that information when we arrived, not an hour after we been sitting. Yes it took a full hour to get our food. With no one else in the restaurant. Should have been a clue. My food wasn't even piping hot when we got it. It was lukewarm as best. So the taste was just ok. Fish very salty. Pasta flavor was ok. My friend enjoyed her meal but was also disappointed in the wait and the warmness of the food. Presentation was good however. I asked for a to-go container and the check. The server said ok and then went to talk to another employee for an additional 20 min as we were waiting to finish up and leave. I had to go ask her again. And she said it's on the way. So in all, we spent about an hour and 40 minutes in this establishment during our lunch time. Tried the restaurant a second time do to someone's birthday. Went here. Our waitress that sat us was great, then here comes someone else. To take our order, the drinks that we order? I ate there the other day when I was downtown. It's right across the street from Court Square Park. It's a pleasant restaurant with dim lighting and wonderful music playing. This was my first time visiting. I came across the seafood burger and have to have it. I went in as a first timer. It is a small spot in the Evergreen area, but there is plenty of flavor packed inside. I ordered to go. The seafood burger was delicious. The burger is about half a pound. It had large shrimp, snow crab, mayo, and cheese on it. Additional topics were on the side (onion, tomato, lettuce, etc.). The bun was super buttery and crisp. The fries that were included were delicious. They had just the right amount of season on them and they were cooked to perfection. Now, the customer service wasn't all that great. The staff was not welcoming, did not care to assist, and definitely did not send customers off with a smile. This may not be the case for all times, but I will give it a try again. read more

My daughter and I were visiting the area for our Family reunion this past weekend. Our hotel was right around the corner. When My daughter and I arrived Energy, around 1pm, a young lady was coming out. Turns out she was the waitress.. She came back in to the empty restaurant and walked us to a table. We waited for our other guests and ordered drinks. After we ordered our food, we waited over an hour for the first "starter" to come out. The 2nd came out about 20 minutes later and the actual meals followed about 25 minutes later. During this time, several others entered the restaurant. We even saw a couple to go orders come and go... As we waited for our food for over an hour and half, our drinks were NEVER refilled nor did the waitress come by our table... When the gentleman brought out the first starter we asked about refills and he said ok.... the "waitress" (whose name was Ms. B" on the receipt) finally came by to ask about refills - she must have been on break or something because we didn't see her in the restaurant at all...). When some of the food finally came, we asked that two of the meals come in take out because it was then time for us to head back to the hotel to pack up and leave... The food was brought out on plates... He didn't think to ask which ones needed to be packed up, instead he said he would let us pack it up... by this time is was close to 3pm. We asked for the checks and when we FINALLY got them (we had actually started eating some of our food because yet again, it took forever...), we saw that we were charged 18% gratuity! For what???? In Almost 2.5 hours, The waitress only came by to take our order and then disappeared, we barely got one refill, that we had to ask the cook for because we hadn't seen our waitress, and NO apology was offered for the delay in bringing our food out.. I will say the food was actually decent, but it was completely overshadowed by the lack of customer service... We didn't have time to argue about the charges so we paid and left. I usually don't write reviews, but this has to be the WORST experience I have had in a long time.... I usually read reviews before going to restaurants and the one time I didn't, I picked a restaurant with reviews that should have been heeded... I must also add my daughter order seafood pasta, Ms. B came out at some point and told her they didn't have crab for the dish, and walked away... I was confused, so I called her back over and asked If my daughter needed to order something else, or was she just informing her? She said, you can add Salmon or get extra Shrimp... Of course, the "extra Shrimp" my daughter requested was not added... there was barely any in the dish.. We ended up wasting that whole plate of food because it was such a hassle trying to get it through security at the airport... In the end, my bill was $75 for a starter and a entree and drinks and automatic 18% gratuity that was completely unearned... Please do better. So where do I start? This place is not what I expected. I went there for dinner and as soon as I walked in it had a night club vibe with dim lighting and extremely loud music. I could not hear anyone including the server yelling in my ear all night. Ordered the shrimp and Chicken pasta. The shrimp was good but the chicken was really dry and chewy with cartilage pieces in it. I did not enjoy the meal and found out they had hookah so I ordered one. It took a while for the guy to bring me charcoal and $35 only thru a cash app was shady. I had asked if they had alcoholic drinks per their menu and was told no then after dinner they asked if I wanted to get a shot of whisky or tequila. What a gem! We decided to visit Energy Famous Pasta during the St Jude Marathon Weekend. We were staying at a hotel downtown and during the quest for carbs realized that securing a last minute reservation downtown was out of the question. We hopped in the car and headed over to Energy which was a quick ride from downtown in the Midtown/North Memphis area. The staff was nice and the place was small yet lively. I am giving this food four stars for a couple of reasons but the biggest reason is I didn't taste any cajun spice in either dish! The beef on the burger was not hot as well as the fries however there was a nice amount of seafood on the burger. Another reason is I asked for specific item on my burger and it was left off. Third reason is the wait time. I do not mind the waiting as I thought is was descent (placed order @ 5:07 p.m. and left @ 5:52 p.m. on a Friday) and drove 18 minutes home so I feel the burger should have still been hot. The pasta was pretty okay but just picked at it because it was bland to me, only 3 sausages and the crab was not as meaty in the shell. Small crab meat in the pasta as well and mussels a bit over cooked. The upside is the atmosphere and establishment is lovely and customer service was great! Extremely slow service. I placed an order online & arrived about 5 min after the given pickup time. I had to wait an additional 50 min to receive the order. Staff was very nonchalant about me having to wait that long for a pickup order. I can only assume it's normal for them. The Cajun Chicken & Shrimp pasta was not seasoned well. My coworkers and I stopped by the other night and we were so disappointed. It was 3 of us and 2 of us had been to the location on Jackson but this was all of our first times coming to the location downtown. First I want to say that it was not busy. We were promptly greeted and instructed to pick where we were going to sit. I know not all drinks come strong but I at least want to taste a hint of alcohol. And we didn't taste any. Just strawberry syrup! So there we sat for an hour talking and just chillin when we started to really question where our food was. Well their food because I was so upset with my drink I had already decided that once we left I was going somewhere else. Anywho...one of my friends needed to go and she went to ask how much longer would her order take...she was told that it hadn't even been started!!! A whole hour had passed and her pasta was not even started. She was heated, so we all decided to just pay for our drinks, cancel the food and go. Our drinks came to $23.92 a piece!! Now I know that adding gratuity is pretty standard now but no, no, no. As we were standing there trying to pay the women working there were cursing and getting upset and not being professional at all! Now if the drinks had been stronger I probably would of been slightly in a better mood and it would not of bothered me as much but essentially we paid $24 for juice and to sit. The pieces are fair for the quantity and quality of food. I would suggest you order ahead. They do have dine-in available. The sauce is definitely made in-house and not from a jar. Service was horrible. The young lady that took our order was very nice, but she was the only one working. Her other coworkers were constantly yelling at her to to take food to the tables, which she did. She also had to make drinks, take orders, bag to go orders and tend to the dine in customers all by herself while they stood by and did nothing. One of the people that attended this restaurant with me did not recieve the egg rolls he ordered because the employee who was supposed to cook them went on a smoke break. Another employees child (5 yr old) was constantly running around the establishment climbing into chairs and constantly messing with the host who was doing everything.
