Fried food over battered to a point of not even tasting the item. I had the combo of crawfish and catfish basket both were over battered. Even dipping into the sauces provided could not taste the fish. My wife had the fried shrimp basket which again so much batter. To taste the shrimp she had to peel the batter off. I was really impressed with this location. It has all of the Redhook flare and flavor, but a bit more upscale and branded. I love everything from the handles on the door to the cups. It was so crowded we decided to sit at the bar. The server/bartender was so kind and made our experience enjoyable. She was friendly and fast! She literally made drinks for the entire restaurant, but checked on us often and made sure our food was ordered and served. I had the Weekend Special. We were able to view the menu from our phones by scanning a QR code. We went the "non-traditional route" and decided to pass on the seafood boils. Instead I tried a seafood basket that contained catfish and shrimp. It came with fries and I split an order of hush puppies. The food came out in probably less than 10 minutes and was nice and hot! The catfish weren't that big & their portions weren't hearty, but they were still pretty good. I would pass on the house margarita going forward, but the premium Margarita that I had was great! To start, there were only maybe five occupied tables in the entire restaurant when we went in and we still had to stand at the door for 10 minutes for someone to come up and seat us. It took her a good 15 minutes to get drinks to our table and as I said, there were only maybe five other occupied tables in the entire restaurant, and I think one of them was employees sitting around. I had oysters and crab. She did not bring me a set-up for crab. I never got the pinchers to crack the crab. I had to pull my knife out of my pocket and use it to dig the crab out of the shells. I had to ask the bus boy to bring me gloves, so I didn't get the butter all over me. She never came back to our table to ask us how the food was, or to refill our drinks. As far as the atmosphere as I said, the place was nearly empty, and the music was so loud, you couldn't hold a conversation. Good, NO great seafood! This is one of my favorite places that taste closely to New Orleans seafood! My boyfriend and I went last night, Friday night around 7 in the evening. Didn't have a long wait which was nice think we beat the crowd in just the right amount of time. After we were sat I noticed it was extremely loud, looked over and they had a DJ playing music so that was a nice touch reminded me of New Orleans such a good vibe. It's kid friendly as well (not from my personal experience, but seeing other children enjoying)! Our waiter was nice, he had so many other tables he was helping so we had to keep asking and reminding him of things we needed etc. so that could have been a little better. But in all he was helpful, funny and chill! Now as for the food I'm a huge seafood person my boyfriend not so much so I went all out for my birthday there. I suggest (if you go in on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays) to get this special they have specifically for these days it comes with quite a bit of food! Price was $37.99 and I added on a 1/2lb of sausage to have as well in the boil. If you are not a boil person they do offer fried food as well, my boyfriend got the fried catfish/shrimp basket with Cajun fries which I will include a picture below. Catfish was AMAZING. Jen picked up on the fact I screwed up my order. I ordered the pick any two basket deal. But instead of being smart I picked shrimp twice. In my head it made sense because previously I ordered shrimp and catfish. Felt like I needed a little more shrimp this time instead of fish so I doubled up on shrimp and added two cat fish fillets on the side. Register rang me up perfectly even my specific sauce needs. Jen corrected my mistake refunded the extra money I would've spent by changing my order from a double shrimp (8) to a regular shrimp(8). No one had to do this the business had their money. I later realized my mistake but wanted to avoid conflict didn't want to make anyone work too hard over it. Jen noticed my mistake and as an on-site manager she corrected the problem even though I never gave it a voice. Two days later I'm back. I appreciate that Jen runs an honest ship and I have no complaints about the food. The shrimp is fried one of a kind and they're big. Fish is fantastic not dry not raw batter. I get my sauce exactly as ordered. I'm very pleased with how this restaurant does business I will be back many times.
