This left me with the choice of helping them get it repaired, or renting a car for the duration, which would have been more expensive. They gave me a budget for it and I talked to a few shops before deciding to take it in to Three Lakes. Mark was a consummate professional and seemed to be very familiar with what was needed. I was only without a car for a couple of days and the car runs great! Plus, my sister and her husband were very happy that the costs were far less than expected. I'm sure they'll be visiting Mark at Three Lakes in the future for routine maintenance now. It's hard to find a shop that does great work, isn't over-priced, and you feel like you can trust them.

I went to Les Schwab because they'd replaced my tires recently. The sweet young guy (LS does not require much experience) sent me over to FS Autoworks who he felt could better diagnose. These older trucks are quirky! The owner, Jeremy, took the time to figure out what was actually going on--with some crazy old school electrical trick-- stayed with it right up until closing, and got me safely back on the road that day. What I appreciated most was the communication. He explained the issues clearly, helped me prioritize what needed to be addressed, and was mindful of cost constraints without ever compromising safety. As someone going through a divorce and trying to keep an old truck, a cabin renovation, and life in general moving forward, that meant a lot. I really felt so taken care of and trusted every recommendation. If you have a Diesel Truck, or any truck, FS Autoworks is the place to go. It's hard to find people who are both knowledgeable and honest. Jeremy was both. Will never take my truck anywhere else again and I have a feeling these guys will keep it running in the 300-500k mileage range these trucks are capable of! Highly recommend!

I read the review and for those that are negative I can tell you this: 1. For every negative review, there have been 100 transmission R & R that are still running out there over 200K that were produced by Mike himself, with his own hands. 2. There are two sides to every story. I will tell you my story. Every single trans and clutch job I brought to Mike was and still is a success, 50K miles later. He doesn't remember this, but when he was lead Trans tech at the shop on State Ave, he put the automatic trans in my Nova and it run 100K. Right then and there I have follow him everywhere he has worked for 25 years. 8 different vehicles of all types from an F250 1996 that I run for 350K miles, to a 1991 Geo Metro 5 speed that NO ONE could figure out their ass from a hole in the ground. Mike made this car run 175K miles and the tran and clutch are like new. NO ONE could get the right clutch in that car. A month ago I brought it in for a value and lifter job. Now it runs like brand new motor. My oil gold. I have no exhaust and spark are light brown. NUTS! Do not listen to the 1 off negatives on this site. I have had projects that failed to, but it had more to do with the way that I went about it, then it did the mechanic. I will never take my cars any where else. We brought two of our cars here…read more People are friendly but the service was not up to par. They inspected our truck and failed to tell us our car was not drivable. We had our wheel bearings looked at and they said the should be replaced soon but not that our car was not drivable. So we took our car home to plan on when we could be without the car and bring it back. Well THREE days later, our wheel FLEW off while we were on the freeway almost causing a catastrophic car accident. We had to pay over 3,000 to fix it and towing fees. We called to complain about not be advisied that this was not drive able and that we shouldn't have drove off the lot but they said "well do what you gotta do". We also during this same time had our other vehicle under their "inspection" and "care" to replace a clutch on a manual. The replaced the clutch but it caused other issues with our motor mount. We took it to another shop after two attempts of having them "check their work" and this other shop advised us to never go back here. We have ANOTHER loose wheel bearing (which wasn't an issue before and were brand new) and issued with motor mount from the clutch install from this place They refuse to acknowledge they had any part in this and are adamant that BOTH cars were "fine" Take a look at our truck after NOT being told our truck wasn't drivable. My whole family was in the car and they are LUCKY no one was significantly harmed
