I have bene using this shop for all my muscle car needs as well as our fleet veihcles for years. They are all very porfessional and take care of their customers 100%. If you ever have any issues they will take care of you immediataley with no questions asked. They don't low bid you to get you in the door and then come back with a higher bill or create extra repairs as the proceed wtih the original repair. I have owned a number of cars that i picked low at 100K miles, took to Mike and drove it for 250K. I have had all my transmissions R & R at Northstate Auto for 20 years and that includes when they were the Regional Service Standards Manager for all Lee Myles Transmission shops. I read the review and for those that are negative I can tell you this: 1. For every negative review, there have been 100 transmission R & R that are still running out there over 200K that were produced by Mike himself, with his own hands. 2. There are two sides to every story. I will tell you my story. Every single trans and clutch job I brought to Mike was and still is a success, 50K miles later. He doesn't remember this, but when he was lead Trans tech at the shop on State Ave, he put the automatic trans in my Nova and it run 100K. Right then and there I have follow him everywhere he has worked for 25 years. 8 different vehicles of all types from an F250 1996 that I run for 350K miles, to a 1991 Geo Metro 5 speed that NO ONE could figure out their ass from a hole in the ground. Mike made this car run 175K miles and the tran and clutch are like new. NO ONE could get the right clutch in that car. A month ago I brought it in for a value and lifter job. Now it runs like brand new motor. My oil gold. I have no exhaust and spark are light brown. NUTS! Do not listen to the 1 off negatives on this site. I took my vehicle in and it was there almost three weeks. The last 3 days i started calling and asking about my vehicle and she kept telling me it will be done in one hour. When they finally called me to pick it up, it was running worse and missing parts! So i took it back to them as soon as they opened the next day. She then told me she was sorry ( mind you ive already paid them $1800 cash for the work they have claim to have done.) She told me it would be rady by the end of thw day! I got a transmission built for my dodge in October of 2020, and I've had to go back two different times now, because the transmission has failed. My truck has now been at the shop for a little over a month, and there has been no communication. I'm calling at least once a week now and getting the same answer over and over again, "we'll have some news for you soon". This way of doing business is completely unsatisfactory. read more

Warning-Do not take you vehicle to Northstate Auto Clinic. The owner Mike is an absolute jerk. We brought our 2012 Dodge Charger to Northstate because the transmission was slipping. He removed, remanufactured and replaced the original transmission. Mike put a "global" transmission fluid in a transmission that required ATF +4, within 90 days, the new transmission was slipping. For months, Mike said it wasn't the transmission, it was a misfire. We spent an additional $4,000.00 dollars replacing ECO sensors, coil pack, spark plugs to address a misfire that did not exist. We took it to the Dodge dealer and spent an additional $1,700.00 on diagnosis to find out Northstate put in the wrong transmission fluid in the transmission. After having a sample pulled from a reputable transmission shop, Mike was finally willing to remove and replace the transmission. Three weeks later, the transmission was pouring fluid out of the transmission pan. Mike had purchased the transmission from Transtar Industries in Seattle. Transtar sells both used transmission that are pulled from the junk yard and remanufactured transmissions. When I called Mike and asked him if he put a used transmission in my car, he denied it. I asked him for the receipt from Transtar Industries and he refused to provide it. I called Transtar and they told me that if I had the serial number they could provide me with all the details about the transmission. I called Mike at Northstate and asked him for the invoice for the transmission he put in my car, he told me it was none of my business. We had an elevated debate and it ended with either he refunds every penny or we will see him in court. I now have to take the car to another shop to have the transmission pulled so I can get the serial number so I can verify with Transtate if this is a used transmission or a new transmission. The good: Northstate replaced the transmission in my car. They did a good job with the repair at a reasonable price. The bad: Repair took 31 days (Dec. 16-Jan. 16). The unacceptable: -The shop did not set expectations about how long the repair would take and did not communicate with my wife or me about when the car would be ready. I had to call the the shop every week because there was no communication from them. My wife lost work assignments the last 2 weeks because she had no transportation. -The shop ignored my request to install an auxiliary transmission cooler (a manufacturer recommendation to prevent future transmission failure) with no discussion. Basically, this shop did what it wanted, when it wanted, took weeks too long, and left us in the dark. read more

Hands down the best auto service in Snohomish County. I recently purchased my Dodge pickup truck and bought a extended warranty on it. A couple months later my transmission went out and I ended up at this shop. I couldn't be more impressed with how diligently they worked with the warranty company and got my truck back to me in under a week, which was extremely important for me as I need my vehicle to be able to perform my job. I had my girlfriends jeep towed here from buds auto after they told me it would be $5600 to replace the transmission and clutch. Buds removed the transmission and wouldn't put it back in. Northstate checked everything out and said everything seemed fine. Just needed a clutch. I asked if they could install a performance clutch for a little more and they were happy to do the job. Since the new clutch the jeep runs great and shifts nice and smooth. Great service, professional and Honest. I can't thank them enough for helping us out. read more

had transmission lines replaced and installed - had it here over a week, they couldn't get a transmission flush done during that time...not a big deal, i understand they are busy... took to another shop to get transmission flush done...rear line wasn't installed properly and a rag was left up near the plate...new shop said they were surprised it hadn't started a fire...i'd say that's a pretty big oversight read more

I have been bringing my cars here for 4 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else! They do my oil changes, anytime I have an issues I know they'll fix it. The thing I like the most is if there is something going wrong and you don't know what they will look at it no cost to you to find out the issue and then give you an estimate of how much it'll be to fix it. They have kind of a coupon card you buy for $80 and you get 10 oil changes, half off an hour of labor, $250 off a transmission rebuild, and some other stuff too.
