For some background, my family has a 5 acre undeveloped property in Olivenhain that we want to build on. I reached out to SDE as my family has worked with them in the past (about 20 years ago). It took them a while to get back to me but after reaching out a couple times and trying multiple lines of communication I got a response. After a few email exchanges and phone calls they wanted to set up a meeting. The person that would be our property manager arrived 20 minutes late to our zoom meeting and basically told me our project was a waste of their time but they would send me an estimate anyways. I totally appreciate that our project may be small scale in terms of what they work on but if that's the case maybe refer me to someone else or at the very least don't waste our time with a meeting only to blow me off. I was told by two people I would be sent estimates and I never received anything. When I asked questions about their recommendations for the lot I was told to google the information. Developing the scope of work for this project came next. We worked this out with Steve. He was very patient with us. Time spent here yields the best results in the end. When done well, it streamlines and optimizes the work schedule for the construction crew.
