If you are considering going to this practice, think again. Newer ownership is worse for this office as they now only communicate about money. Had an appointment and rather than showing any ability to relate to the patient they instead send emails and texts about collecting all fees ahead of time. Closed to be a good practice, but rushed when you see the Dr. Now it's still very rushed AND you especially feel like a number rather than a patient due to the incessant reminders about their payment policies. They need to learn how to frame their messaging about collecting copays and deductibles into a bugger, caring tone. These new owners are greedy and insensitive and it has caused me to go elsewhere. I will NOT go back to this place ever ever ever again. Highly recommend you don't either. I thought I had a wart on my hand and was using over counters stuff before I finally got a referral to a derm because it wasn't going away. I arrived and got in a room and saw Dr. Ross. The visit was as quick as this; Showed him the wart he said "I can't confirm it's a wart due to your over counter treatments however I'll freeze it with liquid nitrogen and if it doesn't fall off in 3 weeks comeback" The he sprayed me 3 times and hurt like hell. After spraying he said "Alright you're good no need to cover it or use ointments just go on as normal." I go home and my hand hurts like hell so I'm taking Tylenol. I noticed before bed it started to small blister. In the morning it was a GIANT blister. I called concerned and they dismissed me saying "oh blistering is normal". I'm like yeah but this is huge may I email a photo atleast oh it's not needed blah blah blah. So the weekend goes by I had original freeze down on a Thursday and called Friday morning. Well Monday it's stinging and hurting and leaking I've kept it covered so I called again concerned and asked to email she said oh as it opens and air it's it it'll sting apply vaseline and cover it again I felt dismissed. I go to my daughter's pediatrician for her appt and he noticed my bandaid and asked what I did I told him oh I had a wart frozen off it stings he asked to see it so I showed him and he said "that is not a normal response to a freeze and idk if what you originally had was even a wart I'd call back you might need Antibotics." So I call back and again they made me feel I was being dramatic and they were doing me a favor by getting me into a teledoc FaceTime call. So I had the call with a different doctor than who did the freeze. He looked and said oh it could be a blood blister clean it two parts water one part peroxide and Vaseline and keep covered and prescribed Antibotics. I said there was pain so he said he would prescribe something for the "pain" which in reality he prescribed a steroid prednisone which I have marked on my health history anxiety. This steroid made my anxiety go so bad I had a panic attack. I called my Family doctor and was bawling I felt crazy, irritable, paranoid, scared, the worse anxiety ever. She said for sure it was the prednisone and wasn't sure why he would have prescribed that steroid to me who has anxiety and it wasn't needed if I had the antibotics. It has been an absolutely nightmare with these people from feeling constantly dismissed to treated with horrible medicines. I'm surprised anyone goes there. It's not looking like the wart is gone either. It has not blistered but the head is still there and we will be approaching 3 weeks so I will for sure need to deal with a different dermatologist office who might have a slight clue what they're actually doing. read more

I've been seeing Dr Arkawi for about ten years. We've caught three malignancies, one basil, and one squamous cancer. I've recently given up driving, and an Uber ride to his office is about $30 each way, but I've lost faith in the dermatologist near my home. Kenan is much more thorough than my new doctor had been on two visits. Kenan checks toes, feet, torso, head, ears, face, and even areas that are a bit embarassing to check, but it's all for the sake of staying alive. After a year, I am coming back to Kenan Arkawi. $60 is a small price to pay for a great exam. The three photos are a MOHS procedure I had. After a year, the scar is barely visible. read more

Today was my first time to this group. I was seen by Nicholas Kim FNP-C. As he and I got acquainted, Nick (as he said I could call him) told me that he was a native of AZ, the high school and college he attended. I was surprised and please he was so open to a perfect stranger. During his exam, we continued to talk back and forth about our childhood, jobs and kids. I REALLY liked that about him. I truly believe Nick loves his work and is very conscientious about giving the best medical care to his patients. Being a retired Paramedic/Firefighter for more than 25 years, I always felt the same in my job. I also have to say the same about the staff and his med-tech. Without getting mushy, I was a great visit with someone that I felt was almost like a good friend I visited. Keep up the great work Nick. See you again in 3 months. read more

I went in for my first appointment to Dr. Arkawi this week. He addressed my skin issues quickly and completed 2 procedures without any discomfort within 15 minutes. Both Dr. Arkawi and Mario were awesome! The Office staff is very efficient, friendly and helpful in any questions that you have. I will be returning for any future dermatology treatment. Very disappointed with this location and office. Last year they changed my appointment but didn't contact me. I called to confirm since I hadn't gotten a reminder and learned I had a new day/time. The appointment itself was fine - nothing great but not bad. I made another followup appointment when I left. I once again didn't get a reminder so I called to confirm. They told me my appointment had been cancelled. They couldn't tell me who cancelled it or why. No need to make another appointment. I'll find somewhere else. read more

I have never been treated so rudely by a scheduler as I was today with this business. It was obvious that the scheduler was talking to someone else in the office and not listening to me. I had to repeat my information because she was interested in something else. she asked for my insurance id number and as I was giving it to her she said "oh my God" and became silent. After about a minute she came back on and asked me to repeat. She told me I couldn't get an appointment until September. I said my need was a bit more urgent and she said good luck and hung up. I was an established patient. Treated disrespectfully. The first time I called she picked up but did not talk to me. I could hear a conversation with someone else in the office. I tried to alert them that I was on the phone and was then switched to music. read more

A joke of a place as for some odd reason, they like to treat each patient the same, despite the difference in pathology. My husband went here for a skin rash/bumps on his arm and Dr. Rosenburg decided to freeze it off, despite my husband telling him that the rash was triggered by certain factors. My husband, being a physician, tried to ask about alternative options, or a biopsy to treat the root cause rather than "freezing it off" and Dr. Rosenburg brushed him off. He said that the rash could not be treated any other way. After many hurdles trying to get his point across, my husband opted for the procedure the doctor recommended and not only did it scar his arm, the rash/bumps did NOT go away. We spent so much money trying to treat the scarring and finally sought medical advice from a reputable derm who discovered it was a fungal rash. Went away within days after doc prescribed meds...would never recommend this place. Maybe try listening to your patients' concerns before you coerce them into the only treatment you know how to do. read more

I have been going to English for many years..I trust Dr. English.. takes his time, explains what is necessary. makes sure you are comfortable and he and his staff are super accommodating. I was in for nitrogen treatments..some months later one of the spots didnt look right, so I called for another appointment to have it checked. appointments were 3 months away....but the staff put me on hold and came back after talking with Dr. English, who said to come in right away...I did, he checked the spot, which was ok...and he did not charge me...what super service and all with a smile to make sure that I was ok...mike read more

Not a good experience with Dr Rosenberg. He kept me waiting 30 minutes in the exam room while I heard him in the next room talking to a sales representative. He then spent maybe 10 minutes checking my skin. I had a more thorough exam at a free skin cancer screening. He kept his mask under his nose. He then burned off a precancerous spot on my face without any warning. Then off he went, see you in a year. No instructions on how to care for the treated areas. I find it interesting that they, of course, have a mask wearing policy and a sign on their door stating such, and your mask must cover both your mouth and nose, but I saw 3 employees not properly wearing masks (2 had their nose hanging out, one had the mask around her neck) plus one patient wearing his improperly. I am high risk and this made me extremely uncomfortable. I have decided to find a new dermatologist. read more

This review is not for the staff nor the technicians, they were all very kind and helpful. This rating is for Ms. Kathy Hurt at the Phoenix/Scottsdale location. The conduct of this woman is utterly appalling. I went in to receive treatment for alopecia, which is a very sensitive topic for a 27-year-old woman. She handed out a diagnosis of scarring alopecia, which means your hair will never grow back. She made this judgement with ZERO facts, and a "you're f***ed" attitude. She also had the gall to tell me that "it could be worse" as if my emotional response was unwarranted for such shocking news. I almost didn't get the biopsy because of her defeatist attitude, I just let it happen. A week later I received a call from the technician that was in the room during my initial evaluation-- she told me that the results of my biopsy indicated that my alopecia is caused from a hormonal imbalance, NOT from scarring alopecia. In summary, Kathy Hurt lives up to her namesake, and should stick to the less perplexing ailments of the dermis. She is the kind of doctor that causes hair to fall out due to irrational emotional distress. read more

From start to finish I was not a fan of this office. The front desk staff was short when booking, and pretty rude when I walked in. I had a few questions on the forms and they were snippy, which comes off quite unprofessional. The doctor walked in and asked if I had been there before. Even before introducing himself and should have known I was a new patient if he had looked at my chart. They removed a few moles and the doctor told me the results would be in to me in a week. As soon as he left, the nurse asked to stay In the room as I changed to finish her notes (unprofessional again) Then told me the timeframe will really be 2-3 weeks, WAY longer than what the doctor said. I would not recommend this office. There are way to many other dermatologist that care about patients and treat them professionally. read more

Formerly the Dermatology, Vein, and Laser Institute, this cozy little office now falls under the umbrella of "West Dermatology". Well, even if the practice was gobbled up by a larger conglomerate, it hasn't lost any of its charm. I've been going here for 10 solid years, getting this icky thing popped, that icky thing lasered off, and that lumpy bump cut out. Jason Arnett, a physician assistant, is hilarious and gets a great deal of sick pleasure out of aggressive pimple popping. Plus, he's never booked out for four months like your average M.D. (but just as experienced and knowledgeable). The office could, admittedly, use a face-lift, no pun intended. However, we don't go to the dermatologist for the scenery, do we? I would go see Jason if he practiced out of a cardboard box in the parking lot. And that's coming from me, who is exceedingly picky, and a physician myself. I would recommend this practice to anyone! read more

I have been to see Dr Rosenberg twice now, and I'm looking forward to my next visit. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. The scheduling is easy and quick. And most of all, Dr Rosenberg...what can I say? He is a gem of a doctor. He is one of those doctors who seems to appreciate his patients, and not just their pocketbooks or insurance payments. I just get the impression that he enjoys people. As far as actually taking care of business, he's quick and painless and does a fantastic job of numbing you up and slicing off whatever ails ya. He explains your options and is mindful about what it's going to cost you out of pocket, so he takes that into consideration when recommending treatment. I would never go to another dermatologist...I just wish he was a general practitioner so I could go to him for everything! read more

I'll start by saying that my experiences with the doctors and assistants aren't the main problem. I do question their practice in terms of mole removals and I never quite feel like my exams are thorough enough. But, the breaking points comes compliments of the front desk and their corporate billing department. I proactively called English after having not received any invoice from them. They were a digit off in my address, so she changed it and got me off the phone like she had better things to do. I waited another billing cycle to finally get my bill and paid it via phone with corporate in Vegas immediately. I was ensured by both parties that I was not in collections. Now, nearly 2 months after finally paying for services that started in July, I get a random phone call that I just happened to answer... and it was collections for a lab from July 14th. Connecting the dots, English obviously never notified whatever lab they send tissue to that my address was incorrect. I'd have no idea I had a lab bill to pay unless I got one, and that's 100% English's responsibility since everyone is billing me based on THEIR information. I proactively called THEM, the least they could do is proactively ensure I would receive all my invoices. Right!?!?! Anyway, I paid my delinquent debt with collections. Then, I immediately called billing in Vegas and they told me they can't help me and to call English, my local office. So I did. The receptionist tried a few excuses that didn't work, and then told me I'd need to speak with someone else who is on a conference call... and that she'd have to call me back. Convenient! Well, two close-of-business-days later, still no call. They know they messed up, and apparently don't really care. I have excellent credit and pay my bills on time. This kind of complete disregard is unacceptable. There's no acceptable reason why this should have happened the way it did. I have a phone number. I have an email address. They use them both. So why not call or email me when you receive returned mail marked undeliverable? And YOU HAVE TO INFORM YOUR AFFILIATES OR THEY WON'T KNOW MY ADDRESS IS WRONG. Instead, I systemically got sent to collections by the lab like no big deal, with no way for me to know that lab even exists. I won't be going back after 15 years with West/English. It's one thing that the address mishap/delinquency happened out of my control, but this utter failure to even act like they care (let alone do the right thing and make it right) is the end for me. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Rosenberg. It took forever to see him but it was worth the wait. I found the staff professional and friendly and Dr. Rosenberg exceptional. Asked questions, took his time explaining answers, and did not make me feel like he was in a hurry or the slightest bit annoyed at any of the questions. I had a very pleasant in-office experience at English Dermatology. Paperwork was ready for me. Was called into the office within a minute or two of completing the documents. Nurse Practitioner tended to me immediately. MD (Dr. Hurt) came in within a minute or two after that - she was fast but thorough in my check-up, had a good sense of humor. Both were very attentive and professional. Called me by my name, had actually looked at my chart, etc. Compared to many "hurry up and wait" experiences with healthcare providers, this was an excellent experience. This office and staff is amazing. They made me very comfortable as I had a Lipoma removed. The doctor is very efficient. I left with a small incision only six stitches. SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT GO THIS BUSINESS....... I was there this afternoon to address the abnormal skin patch on my stomach that I've been dealing with over the last 18 months and have had 2 office visits prior with the PA and received medications that have not helped. Todays visit was different because I was told to remove all clothing and there was a scalpel and supplies already on the table upon my arrival which I addressed with the assistant because I've never seen them before and thought they were left over from prior patient. However,assistant said no it's for the doctor. I was seen by Dr. Scott Ross rather than the PA and he barley looked at my main stomach area, with quick glance said there was nothing more they could offer. However,after a quick body inspection he decided to biopsy a mole on my left calf. He didn't give me any options and felt pressured and didn't know how to respond. Dr.Scott had never seen this mole or my skin before,he never gave me an option to watch characteristics and from my perspective there was nothing different from this mole to another. They had taken pictures of my stomach area previous but he didn't take a picture of the mole to watch for next 6 months or explain anything. He didn't even take a picture prior to the biopsy. This was my 3rd visit at the office and never did they do a full body examine. I was told nothing about how this would be billed,no education for after care. I've paid my other visits out of pocket and don't even know the price that I will incur for this procedure and pathology and would understand if necessary but feel taken advantage of since English isn't my first language and health care naive. I feel that if this was such an urgent issue it would've been addressed prior than 18 months later. Beware of Dr.Scott and office staff,they will punch biopsy holes all over you to make an extra buck. I did call the the office after my visit and told them not to send my sample to pathology,but still awaiting to confirm that they disposed of my sample. I will not be returning. Can't trust even healthcare providers these days,just trying to make extra on the less fortunate. SCAMMERS. I've been to this practice 3x within the past year and all were an excellent experience. I was at the Desert Ridge office last January where I saw Dr. Hurt and she was fantastic, I felt very comfortable with a female physician. In June I saw Dr Arkawi at the Indian School location, then again this month. I don't normally go to male physicians but he is so professional that I had no misgivings. If I could leave -100 I would. After reading this I truly hope you decide to go to any other dermatologist possible. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with the medical field. They mutilated my 9 year olds hand. To the point of zero recognition. I've spoken to everyone in their office from staff to managers, to supervisors from their financial department. All the employees agree that what was done was terrible and that they would get the bills adjusted due to the fact that insurance paid most of it and they didn't want to me file a malpractice suit against them. So months later I am told that Devin the manager has denied adjusting it and now no one is available to talk to. My daughter went in with a couple warts on her hand. Kristen Peterson treated her hand using the freezing method . And advised to POP the blisters and apply super glue over the infested area. We did as we where advised. The warts spread like wild fire. She insisted that it gets worse before it gets better. After 4 visits my daughter hand was unrecognizable. She was in so much pain and didn't want to attend school with embarrassment of her hand. We stopped going. Gave her three weeks of rest for her poor hand to heal. Then took her to Spectrum Dermatology. There, they treated her hand once, with beatle juice, told us NOT to pop the blisters, and to keep it clean. And boom! Four days later her hand was wart free! read more

I'm one of those people who only sees a dermatologist for skin checks. I have lots of skin issues that require me to see a doctor to rule out problems. So, I've seen a few. Kathy was the first person who looked carefully at my skin using a magnifier with a light. She looked all over my arms, legs, back, chest, hair, feet........I've had a skin check before with the doctor looking at me from about 3-6 feet away, just a glance to see if anything was really out of the norm. So, thanks for really checking me to give me a clean bill of health. Kathy, thanks for taking care of this crazy Arizona skin! (PS if you need biopsies, the shot usually is the worst part. It bites! This time it did not hurt at all. The little incision is a bit sore several hours later, so take a Tylenol or something if you need a few spots biopsied.) read more
