After waiting for months to see them, I had my first appointment. Loved it. My brows looked good after the first session but that fades. Once they faded, the brows were spotty; I could clearly see where her consistency in pressure was poor. This was my first time having my brows done and Chanmi said it appeared I was doing everything as I was supposed to in order to heal, and to trust the process so I did - it all went downhill from there. I have given Chanmi over $1000.00 (not including hefty tips) and my brows look like nothing has been done. I intended to discuss this with them at yet another touchup appointment (more money for Chanmi every time, so why bother doing it correctly any of the first few times, right?) but that appointment will not be happening. I had an emergency and rescheduled the appointment (one strike and you're out policy) once. The day before our rescheduled appointment, I woke up sicker than I've ever been - testing results were covid. I apologized immensely with a photo of my test because I understand people use it as an excuse often but I wanted to be responsible in not spreading it to Chanmi. Chanmi told me I could not come to my appointment and that she would also be keeping my money. I insisted that forcing me to forfeit my deposit because I cared enough about her health to inform her I had covid would not only be poor business practice but would encourage people to just show up sick (what else would one expect with a "policy" like that?). Brows by Chanmi begrudgingly refunded my deposit but not without unprofessionally posting our discussion and talking trash about me on local business and personal social media profiles and groups. There are a great deal of wonderful, ethical brow artists available who have respect for their clients, with or without a disagreement. Chanmi Joo is not worth the wait, the money, or the disrespect.

At first I thought the leg massage was a bit short but oh no, the leg massage came AFTER the polish was applied. The massage was likely the best I have ever received with a pedicure and doing it after gave the polish time to dry. What a great idea! (I've never had that happen before). Small family-run business with three pedicure and two manicure stations. Clean and bright, even on a dreary, rainy day. My salon at home advised me to stay away from salons that use the plastic bags so I was happy to see they were not used here. I didn't ask ahead of time what the price was and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was $40, less than I pay at home. There was no upsell pressure, just one of the best pedicures I've ever had! We arrived early for our appointments and were quickly greeted, given forms and asked to use slippers. Within a few minutes, I was taken in for my massage and my friend to her facial. The rooms are lovely, and the spa itself is quite small. Fully functional and they're making great use of the space, but definitely small. My massage was awesome... deep tissue, which is my preference! She worked some magic indeed! When doing more than one treatment, you change into a robe. They have a lidded basket for your belongings and it's taken to your next room with you. I relaxed in one of the pedicure chairs drinking cucumber water while I waited for my facial. Rooms were changed out quickly and the aesthetician took me into her room. She did a great job, however was a little heavy handed a couple times and really spoke too quickly in the beginning, coming across as extremely rushed. As a medical aesthetician myself, it seemed a bit odd, since it didn't come across as calming, which is generally a goal. I kept my credentials to myself, because I personally like to see how services are provided and preformed when they don't know. When all was said and done, I was quite relaxed and we were both very happy with the experience overall. So much more than the local spa we went to last year... to the point that my friend didn't even remember where we went. I guess you know it's less than mediocre when you've blocked it from your memory. As I sat in the entry putting on my shoes, we wondered what they do with the slippers, hoping they're not put on the rack for someone else to wear... moments later a gal comes out with antibacterial wipes, wipes them clean and puts them away. Nice to know! We both agreed, we will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, it was the worst eyebrow experience I've ever had. The threading was rushed and poorly done--my eyebrows were barely cleaned up, left with no shape, and my upper lip was still noticeably unfinished and patchy. She also left a patch of very short hairs on my left brow, which makes them look uneven and messy. I also had a chemical reaction to the lamination (which I understand isn't necessarily their fault), but it didn't even seem like it was applied properly--it barely lasted at all, so I'm not convinced it was done right. And the tint... it was so blotchy and uneven that I was actually relieved it washed off the next day. I never leave negative reviews, but I wish someone had warned me. I chose this place based on the glowing reviews, so maybe I just had a really off experience--but I won't be returning.

When I got there Liza informed me I didn't purchase the extreme lashes but the basic package even though I purchased the $89 dollar package a few weeks ago. I asked her how much more would it be to get more lashes and she said an additional $120 and that she "didn't have time". That what I paid for was 50-70 lashes. While placing the lashes, she didn't prep them after I washed because she said my lashes were already dry. I asked her how much the non-Groupon price for each was. $250 for this set pictured here and $350-400 for the "Extreme set". I also asked her if she was placing (grouping) more than one lash on each of my lashes, to which she replied "don't worry about it...that they are silk". That it would "look good" and that she is "giving me more than I paid for". I stayed to finish getting them on because I didn't feel she would reimburse me and didn't want to walk out with one eye done. I used to get my lashes done at Amazing Lash regularly in Texas so I feel I understand the process and how they should look and fair pricing. Things are understandably more expensive here. I don't mind paying but this whole experience was absolutely not worth any part of this. I feel this service is grossly overpriced, Liza the lash stylist is less than professional and this is not worth your time or money. Don't waste your time.
