Literally the best experience I could've asked for. I did the walk in approach, definitely get there at opening, there was already a line on a Tuesday (cuz they're that awesome). Once inside even though the person at the counter was SUPER busy and had A LOT of people (I wish I got her name, but it was this morning -7/18), she was still very polite, attentive, patient and knowledgeable--with incredible multi-tasking skills. Then when I went back for the actual appt later in the day, again, everyone was so friendly. Reagan was so nice and answered all of my questions, she was also the best moral support and again very knowledgeable. Blake did the actual piercing and he was so nice and he had a very soothing voice and demeanor and that was much appreciated. Overall: incredible experience, yes there is a wait, yes it takes time, yes it's not cheap. But that is because these are quality employees in a quality shop with quality education. I've had my nose pierced 3 times , this being my fourth and it was by far the most painless due to her technique . Also , Christina (I think that is her name, she has blonde hair) was very helpful in assisting me in picking out jewelry. And oh the jewelry!!!!! The jewelry there is absolutely amazing!!!! Since my last visit The Hole Look has gone from warm, welcoming, and "making you feel like an old friend" to feeling very cliquey, unfriendly, like they're just trying to get you in and out and don't give a crap about anything but the basics, and just overall awful customer service. The prior staff members that have stuck around are still warm, welcome, and as friendly as can be. The newer staff doesn't give off the same vibe in the slightest. The previous staff was willing to answer any questions even before you get there. The new staff doesn't seem to want to give you anything until you come in and hand them your card. Piercers are wonderful, all the piercings that I have received from this shop have healed well and the selection of jewelry is good, albeit on the more expensive side so be aware if you want the sparkle you will pay extra. After one day, it stopped hurting (except when I accidentally bump on it) I have had my piercing for a few days now and is feeling good. It was $50 plus the saline solution plus tip for the piercer (total around $68) piercer was cool and nice. Would recommend highly. Their "walk-in" service is not really walk-in. It's more of a walk-in to make an appointment. We were first in line at 12:00. Even got there at 11:00 just to make sure we were first. When checking us in, the front desk person said, "How does an appointment at 2:00 sound?" We left without getting pierced. We don't have time to wait around and come back at 2:00. We came for a walk-in (and waited a long time to be first in line) and that's what we thought we would get. We took our business to another place that does real walk-ins. If you are a person who is thinking about walking in, good luck. I would recommend an appointment. We walked in on a Saturday, didn't expect to be assisted with our request that day, and was told they were booked within the first 30 mins of opening. Understandable. The lady up front recommended us to come in before 12 when they open for walk ins tomorrow. We showed up 15-20 mins the next day prior to the doors opening (mind you, there were 4 people in line and we were 5th) and STILL was told they were booked. It was the craziest thing. There was lack of empathy with the people up front and it didn't make sense how the whole day could've been booked when we were one of the few who showed up prior to the doors opening. The reason they gave us was it could've been emergency situations. I understand and fully empathize with emergencies. However, if it was an emergency, they'd be right there front and center ready to get taken care of. Or go to the doctor. IDK. This review is targeted to the future walk-ins. Good luck :) read more

The Hole Look is very clean inside and is very cool! I went in there to get my forward helix pierced. Blake is very nice and informative about the operation. He answered all my questions and gave me tips to how to have the healing process go smoothly. It has been two months and is going very well. Overall, the healing process is better than I expected. I will definitely get my ears pierced here from now on! The room where I got them pierced, reminded me of a hospital check up room. The tools were also sterilized, which is a must for me. While a friend and I had to wait a while in the waiting room, I had no problem waiting. But I do highly recommend going here to getting pierced here. :) read more

I went in today to get my tragus and conch piercing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the ladies at the front desk were able to help me with all of the questions I had. Although there was a little bit of a wait, it was worth it because of the nice clean environment. I also didn't suspect to just get right in. The prices weren't bad, I thought it was going to be pretty pricey, but $100 for two piercings is great. The room was incredibly clean and I felt that everything was sanitized well. Taryl was very sweet and brought me water when I almost passed out. She let me sit for a couple of minutes which I felt was really nice since I have been pushed out at other places. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Too begin, I use to get my piercings from BPU. But after I decided to get my cheeks pierced I figured I'd ask BPU for a price. So I did. They want $150.00 a piece for each cheek. . A little much but I was wiling. So I call around and The Hole Look has pricing for $75.00 for each cheek. Yes! You bet I took that. Not only are the prices from BPU crazy. This place is mediocre to me. It's not bad and prices are cheaper than other places such as jewelry and piercing. Can't say anything about tattoos. One thing I appreciate is they're a lot more friendlier than body piercing unlimited. I got my industrial here and cartilage. They used a needle for the cartilage. Which is better than a gun. It just got infected really quick :( Location is accessible :) It doesn't smell the best and feel the cleanest until you enter their piercing rooms. read more

I hate needles. But I have commemorated past important life events with piercings and this was my first experience with a professional (Claire's doesn't count). The woman at the front of the shop was very helpful in explaining what I could expect, showing me jewelry, and helping me decide if I wanted to go rook or conch this go around. Once I finally made a belabored decision, I waited my turn and Blake took me to his sterile office and calmed me down some more. He explained everything, communicated to make me feel comfortable, and even let me hang out after the process getting me water and ice and chatting for about thirty minutes--when I started to get the spins (I mentioned I hate needles, remember?) which is normal for me--until I finally came back down to normal. The piercing itself (I did both ears) was quick, less pain than anticipated, and didn't even swell. It's feeling great today and I don't anticipate any issues. The Hole Look - Fresh conch piercing by Blake, second day. - Piercing Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Last week, my friend was visiting Anchorage from California and we both decided to get piercings done on a whim. The shop itself is super cute and clean on the inside, and is much bigger than it looks on the outside! The customer service was excellent when calling to ask about what piercing techniques they use (needle and then forceps or the tube thing depending on what's getting pierced), and the front desk was always up front about what time Blake would be leaving that day and when he would take his last clients. I believe we were his last clients on both days we went. We went on two separate days. The first day there was one group ahead of us and we were seen within 30 minutes (they don't take appointments). My friend got her third lobe piercings done and I got my conch and tragus pierced. On the second day there were two groups ahead of us and it took about an hour, I got my VCH done. All piercings are perfect and healing wonderfully. Blake was very knowledgeable, professional, personable, funny, and CLEAN! He also measured all of the piercings placements to make sure they were symmetrical which is awesome and made my OCD heart very happy! I had a triple helix and a forward triple helix done previously and she did not measure (just eyeballed which turned out ok, but I prefer the measuring!) I am actually pushing up my timeline to get my second lobe piercing (and last piercing ever....probably haha) because I'm moving to Denver in October but I want Blake to do the piercing! Highly highly recommend this place if you want to get pierced in Anchorage. read more

Worked with me, stayed in my budget and had me out of the seat in time to scoop my dad from the airport! I wanted to get a tattoo before I left Alaska this week and he was an awesome choice.
