We had a great experience dining at Eno Vino Downtown last Saturday evening. The service from Abby was simply amazing, and it made the whole evening event so pleasant. We went there to celebrate the 50th birthday of a friend from New York who was in town for the art fair. Abby was attentive, with good recommendations. She's such a sweetheart. We really had a wonderful time chatting with each other and eating the great food. The mocktails were excellent, and we decided on 2 sets of their special - a two-to-tango meal. I was staying in the hotel on a business trip and arrived later on a Sunday evening. Most of the other restaurants in the area were closed, so figured it was easiest to have dinner here. As a solo female diner, it's always intimidating to eat alone. When I arrived, I asked to sit at the bar, but saw free spots at the tables along the window. It was a beautiful night and I figured I was alone and could watch the sunset. I asked the bartender if I could sit there and she said yes, but I would have to order with a waiter. We'll I waited for a good 20 minutes without anyone checking on me before moving to the bar. The bar was really no better. Service was abysmal and the bartenders were not so friendly. The bar was also not well kept with glassware and napkins still in my space from the previous patron. I had to ask for water, napkin and utensils after my food came. I also had to ask for another drink, while the 2 girls next to me were attended to constantly. I ended up ordering the shrimp risotto and while tasty, it was too salty after a few bites. I'm giving 2 stars because they have a decent wine selection. read more

I went here for my birthday and it ended up being a really lovely experience. The atmosphere feels upscale yet comfortable, and the view of the Capitol makes the whole evening feel extra special. The shareable plates worked perfectly for our group, and most of the dishes were flavorful and beautifully prepared. The only issue we ran into was a mixup where another table's cheeseboard was brought to us and our appetizer went to them. Hadn't been to Eno Vino in a while, but it feels like they've stepped things up. The shrimp ceviche special was bright and fresh, probably my favorite. For drinks we had the pomegranate mojito and garden party cocktails were both good. But the Scorpio Rising was the favorite drink. For food we tried a few new items. The yuca was interesting but seemed odd and needed more flavor. We really liked the empanada and Brussel sprouts especially the cream sauce with the empanada. Pork belly and chicken skewer were both cooked well and two were enough for 6 people. Lastly, the Thai chicken flatbread wasn't great. Not bad, it just didn't live up to the rest. All time favorites in madison! you need a reservation if you don't want to sit at the bar or a high top but you can occasionally get in as a walk in. Meals are more or a sharing item with smaller sizes but the flavor of the meals is unmatched. I absolutely feel like the ambiance and flavor is worth the price you pay. View is incredible on the 10th floor looking straight at the capital. Bar has generous amount of seats and the restaurant is large and can accommodate big parties. Food was below standard. The truffle fries were soggy and burnt . We were told that the fries were burnt as that is what truffle oil does . The fries were sent back and came back looking the same and room temperature .. which is obvious that they were not fresh. The Scallops came out .. three small pieces on a bed of canned corn (price for scallops $44) . The staff started cleaning and vacuuming behind us at 10.30 PM which seemed unprofessional. I've been here a few times for work events and drinks/snacks. The atmosphere is gorgeous, possibly one of the best views in Madison. The food is surprisingly hit or miss for the price. Yesterday I stopped by with a couple of friends for happy hour. I had the green goddess drink which was excruciatingly sour. My friend ordered the pomegranate mule, which was nice. We ordered two snacks to share: the tuna tartare and the carpaccio. The tuna tartare was tasty, balanced, and creative. I liked the crispy quinoa and the freshness of the yogurt sauce. The carpaccio was horrible. The cuts were sloppy. There was very little meat and a heaping pile of microgreens with poorly-sliced red onion. The broth was sour beyond belief and the fact that it was served with tortilla chips made no sense at all. It seemed like two different chefs wrote the recipes and prepared the dishes. I think I'll wait until another work-sponsored event to return. I'd rather not play roulette with the menu. read more

My wife and I have been Eno Vino guests since its early West Side days and have dined Downtown many times. On Saturday, Oct 18, 2025, we stopped in for dinner and were met with the most dismissive and unwelcoming reception we've ever experienced. Three hosts stood at the desk -- one older gentleman and two younger women. The young woman who helped us said she'd been with Eno Vino six months. When I asked about dining-room reservations, she curtly said "no." When I asked how to make one, she replied, "You call in for a reservation," in a patronizing tone. Later she asked if I lived in Madison -- an irrelevant and inappropriate question. Moments later, we found open reservations online for 5:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The dining room manager (a tattooed young woman) called it an "oversight" but refused to have the hostess come apologize. When I asked to speak with her, the manager said she was "fearful" of how the hostess might handle the conversation. That word -- fearful -- spoke volumes. After years of being regular guests, this experience left us feeling unwelcome, unwanted, and profiled. Eno Vino has long been one of Madison's top dining spots -- but what happened Saturday showed how quickly poor front-of-house behavior can damage a brand's reputation. We've contacted management directly and hope they address this swiftly. Until then, I'd encourage leadership to retrain staff on respect, inclusion, and hospitality -- values that should never depend on who walks through the door. read more

I had an amazing birthday dinner here. The restaurant is very classy with amazing views of the capital building. Taylor C took care of us. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and allergy information (gluten and peanut/legumes). She brought wine samples so I could pick a dry red wine that would accompany my meal - not surprisingly, I ended up picking her favorite wine and it was perfect. This restaurant specializes in small plates and shareables. I ordered 3 plates and had some leftovers to take home (I did NOT share with my dining guest). They have a gluten-friendly menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and brought out with plenty of time between courses. I started with the roasted beet salad with goat cheese (this ended up being my favorite of the three). They whipped the goat cheese and somehow that made it crazy addictive. Yum! My next choice was the seared scallops that came with grilled onions and sliced sausage in a bed of corn. I am not much of a sausage person so I didn't eat much of the sausage but made quick work of the seared scallops and onions. I ended with a filet with potatoes, oyster mushroom and peas in a Malbec reduction. This was good but the filet was a bit unevenly cooked. I had ordered medium rare, and about have of the filet was medium. The most beautiful dish that we tried was the "Crispy" lobster. While, sadly, not gluten-free, both the presentation and taste (I was told) were five stars. The food was, indeed, a special experience that we really enjoyed. About the drinks: so many choices!! All of the wines that I sampled would have been excellent choices, at a fair price point. There are so many interesting cocktails to pick from. Here again, the presentation of the cocktails makes it a special experience. Both of us loved the "Jalop-In Your Business" cocktail with jalapeno-infused tequila. It definitely had a kick to it, even for us Texans. To summarize, I highly recommend this restaurant and Taylor C for your special night out, especially if you have food allergies. read more

I never make reservations because I enjoy sitting at the tall tables on the bar side. Service is a pinch slower at this restaurant, but they are always extremely friendly. The view never disappoints. It's the crowd pleaser when guests are in from out of town. The selection of wines and specialty drinks provide an option for everyone. The Thai Chicken flatbread is my favorite dish in Madison. The women's bathroom has an amazing view of the lake and the Capitol. I have food allergies to nuts and seafood, and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu options and the people who delivered my food noted that the plate had special attention to allergens. The menu is tapas style. They timed everything well, bringing out one plate at a time. We had the braised short rib, pork belly bites, chicken thigh kebabs, and the bistro filet. The views really say it all. You can't beat sipping and munching while getting smacked in the face with beautiful sunset views of the Capitol you just can't. I definitely recommend trying to snag a spot in the first come first serve section in you want the best view. No rezzy is a risk and you probs don't get as comfy of chairs. Here's the thing the drinks are expensive and delicious and the food is expensive and delicious plus you get an amazing rooftop view. So I think you do get what you pay for. read more

I really enjoyed my time here at Eno Vino! We got seated immediately with a nice view even though we didn't make a reservation. The server was really attentive and friendly and brought our orders in a timely manner. The crispy lobster was to die for! It had this peach dressing and the lobster was so tender and crispy. It also has slaw filling inside which perfected the meal. The cheeseboard had fresh fruit and variety of cheeses, and we ordered moscato and prosecco to pair it off. The bruschetta is also something i highly recommend! We got the Brie and apple, Mediterranean, pineapple jalapeño, and margarita. It was so unique and delicious. It's been four years since I visited Madison and I was so excited to come back and eat here. This place was so memorable. The view of the Capitol is just amazing. And the food is even more amazing. We tried many different plates. The tuna sashimi and grilled octopus were my favorites but the rest were pretty high up there too.
