This is definitely a gem with the back drop ambiance. The scenery with the combination of reserved wines is breath taking. Also order the Caprese pizza it was filling and great!! Excellent anniversary dinner! Be sure to make reservations. It was fairly crowded on a Saturday night. If the weather is nice, this would be a great place to dine on the deck. The interior is just as charming-in the living room of a great old log cabin. Cozy and unique! Our waitress was precious. She went out of her way to bring wine samples and had plenty of knowledge and recommendations. They have a lot of interesting sounding wine flights, but we each settled on a glass on their homemade wine. The bread they bring you at the beginning of dinner is tasty, but meager. We found just two small pieces in the large basket on our table. They never offered to bring more, but we also did not ask. The dinner salads were also extremely small. For $6, we expected more. The field greens salad was especially delicious, though, I will say. The entrees were the real star of the show here. We each ordered a filet with various sides. The seasoning on the filet is perfect, and they were each cooked as requested. You could almost cut the meat with a fork. I adored the Guiness cheese grits and would never order anything else. The brocollini was fairly typical. My husbands fingerling potatoes were not cooked though all the way-I could hear a distinct crunch each time he bit into one. He liked the Brussels sprouts though. We did not love any of the dessert choices on the menu, but wanted to finish the meal off with something sweet so we settled on the bread pudding. It was pretty good, just not my favorite thing. Wish there were a few more options! Overall, we spent $100 before tip for two glasses of wine, two salads, two entrees and a dessert. It's a pricey place, but the ambiance and the food are top notch. I stopped here on my way home and their wine was great. I good a red wine sampler and I ended up buying a bottle of my favorite wine. There location is tucked into a neighborhood and it is beautiful. They have an outdoor patio where my boyfriend and I enjoyed the wine. Their menu looked amazing but unfortunately we got here as the kitchen was closing. We were able to get some salsa and chips though and that was great. They had information posted about how they host bands on the weekend. read more

Absolutely the worst service in the tasting room. I would not come here again. Our server Audrey walked by and hit one of us on the back of the chair and completely moved the entire chair and hit the person, missed our food order, there was a spider on one of our plates, never came back to bring water or ask how the food was or ask for more wine. I just moved to the area and would not recommend this place to anyone if my life depended on it. I work in customer service and this was one of the worst ones I have ever experienced. read more

The crab cakes were bland and cold, I had to go ask for utensils, the Margerita pizza had no tomatoes(key ingredient) and to put the cherry on the sundae the young lady preparing the bread pudding to go touched the trash can with her bare hands, licked her finger, touched a spoon then licked her fingers again out in the wide open and got a bit offended that we asked for another bread pudding and explained why the trash can finger spit bread pudding wasn't acceptable. Pretty gross, I can't help but be terrified of what goes on behind the kitchen door since this was out in the middle of the room. Not going back. read more

Definitely one of east Texas' finest finds. Awesome location/view. Have taken several out of town guests and all were impressed. Great food and good wine selection. Have been many times and never been disappointed. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Especially enjoy visiting during special events. This is what you would expect dinner at a winery to be. You do need to make a reservation for dinner at the main lodge as it gets very busy on the weekend. read more

Wow, what a disappointment. I was in town from Long Island, NY, visiting my family, and Enoch's was highly recommended. The server staff was grade A. Fantastic. The failure came with the manager and the kitchen staff. Almost everyone in our party ordered something that was altered by the kitchen (they where out), leading to our waitstaff having to come back to us apologetically with news that the kitchen was out of whatever we ordered. read more

In reading some of the other reviews, I have to say I'm surprised we were at the same place. I will agree that the setting is lovely. From that point on our experience differed greatly. We were the first guests to arrive at the vineyard today. The greeting we received from Stormi was less than cordial. She asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. Never thanked us for coming in. Never asked if we'd ever visited before. Never asked if we wanted to do a wine tasting. Never shared any info about the wine club. All in all she made us feel unwelcome and pretty much ruined any atmosphere there may have been. Additionally, neither the pizza nor the bottle of wine we selected made up for it. The toppings on the pizza were fresh but the crust tasted like it had been frozen and although there was nothing particularly wrong with the wine, it was overpriced for the quality. Probably won't bother to go back. There are other options in the area. read more

Hidden treasure in the hills of East Texas. This place is a wonderful getaway from family or responsibilities for a few hours any day or time. During the week they have a beautiful patio to sit on and enjoy the stunning views or on the weekends they often host events like a "whole hog roast" or special tastings. They have a reservation only restaurant on property that is only open I believe on Fridays and Saturdays that we have yet to try. The Potter's Hand red wine they make is amazing and I bring home a couple bottles to Dallas whenever I can. It's always the party favorite! read more

Having met friends at Enoch's on several occasions prior to the Covid days, we all decided it was time to celebrate the chance to openly gather again at Enoch's. And we did so yesterday. The weather was perfect, the view predictably admirable, the company well worth the two hour drive. All was going well until I made the mistake of asking the gentleman...wait, the man who came to take our drink order if they had a beer menu. As I said, we have been there a number of times so I knew Enoch's didn't serve beer. I take full responsibility for the exhuberant feeling associated with our re-gathering. Doing so I quickly discovered I had overstepped my bounds making such an out of place request. I was then immediately schooled with a tart tongue. Feeling a bit deflated I kept with our group and I went inside to order wine for my wife and myself. While paying $24 plus tax for two glasses of wine I watched the same man pouring my order. Then I watched him pour my friend's order. Why was I surprised that my two glasses didn't quite come to the level of my friend's who had said nothing about beer? Okay. I got it. I offended garcon. On the way home we decided not to drive two hours again for schooling, as did our friends. In short, Enoch's lost four customers yesterday. The incident brought to mind that bumper sticker that reads, "The customer is always right." Garcon should be given one for his car, the one he drives to the nearest beer store to get what his customer would like to have...so the customer remains just that. Oh, well. read more

I had high hopes. Service was awful! Doesn't matter if the food is good, or the wine is good. Don't go- just don't.

I attended a wedding this past weekend. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, but service and hospitality to the guests and the wedding party were majorly lacking. Enoch's provided a bartender, but refused to chill the kegs of beer without argument, eventually selling bags of ice for $2 after a bartender told the owner that $4 a bag was unreasonable. Some bottles of whiskey were brought as a gift to the groom and the owner tried to confiscate them. They had to be snatched out of her hands. These two situations transpired in open view of guests and people visiting the patio for wine and appetizers, how unprofessional. The food was tasty, but could have been better. At the very least, the dinner rolls could have been warmed before serving. Also, the agreement upon payment was that the winery would decorate after being shown a table as an example. At the final meeting between the couple and event coordinator, it was announced that there would be no decorating by the winery and that the event coordinator would not even be present for the event. I suggest if you have your event hosted here, that you have everything in writing, in order to prevent undo last minute stress to yourselves. Be sure to have that agreement in writing before you finish paying in full. The preparation room for the bridal party is nice, but small. There is no room for the groomsmen, which made it difficult for pictures and getting ready. Enoch's Stomp needs to up their service game to couples getting married. They had an event planned the night before the wedding, preventing the rehearsal from taking place there. This event was cancelled last minute, and they could have profited from allowing two events at once, or staggering the event times. Their barrel room is beautiful for a wedding, but it is completely open to the event hall, rendering the place useless to couples wanting their rehearsal to take place when there is an internal event planned. It would be much better for the barrel room and the event hall to be physically separated so that two events would be possible. I'm sure the wedding couple would have had their rehearsal dinner at the winery, had they been able to rehearse in the same space where they were marrying the next day. read more

We Just spent a wonderful evening with another couple in the tasting room. Decided to go there at the last moment and could not get reservations in the dining room until late in the evening. So, as we have done before, we elected to make the short drive anyway (which with the top down and the temp in the 80s was a treat in itself) to eat and drink in the tasting room. Patrick James, a very talented musician from Tyler, was there to entertain with guitar and vocals. My friend was impressed when, on request, Patrick was able to perform a fine rendition of "Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald." An appetizer plate, more than enough for 4, followed by sandwiches and pizza. And, oh yeah, wine. Try the Chambourcin. Excellent. read more

I am from Houston & was in town visiting my Fiance's family. I know good food & I absolutely know good wine. This place was such a let down considering how beautiful the property was. To start, our waitress had no knowledge of the vineyard or the wine. Secondly, the wine was very subpar, I tried numerous glasses of the reds & whites & nothing I'd want to try again. Even more importantly, the food was AWFUL. We ordered 4 different dishes & each meat was so over cooked. My sun dried tomato & spinach stuffed chicken wasn't even edible! For such a beautiful property & ambiance I had much higher expectations. We will absolutely NOT BE BACK! read more

Today was my wife's ?? birthday. We have been married 50 years and she is still the best thing that ever happened to me. We live about 60 miles away in Mount Vernon, TX. There is a wine festival and they discussed it in the newspaper. The staff was great. We started in the pub because we got there early for our reservations. Sharla was a server and she was great. Food was wonderful and tres leche was free and very good. We had so much food that we took the cake home but had it after we got home. I would recommend the restaurant for great food. There is also a "pub" area that serves pizza, burgers, fries etc. We did not eat there but the food coming out of looked good. We will drive the plus 1 hr each way to go again. read more

What a fabulous experience! Two of my sisters and I arrived mid-afternoon and had the wine-tasting room to ourselves and the undivided attention of the staff. Two hours after sampling wines, nibbling on fine choices of cheeses and fruits, having a glass of our favorite selection, purchasing bottles for home and visiting/laughing with our delightful server, Kody, we were totally hooked. The chef for the restaurant and managers were all most friendly sharing information about the winery, restaurant and meals. We look forward to our next visit which will include a dinner reservation. read more

We arrived and drove into the winery on the road only wide enough for a small compact car. Walking across the gravel & rock "parking lot" is impossible. We were seated right away, but didn't have anyone on the wait staff acknowledge us for 20-25 minutes. During that time period many people literally pointed at our table including the general manager at the facility, but still no service. Finally, about 30 minutes later someone took our wine order, but said he was too busy to wait on us. 20 minutes after that our food order was finally taken. After ordering a chicken sandwich and beef sliders we waited nearly 2 HOURS for our food. Which came out only after the owner asked how our meal was and we responded that we hadn't received it yet. When it finally did arrive it was cold. We had remained patient all night & needless to say we're getting rather frustrated. The general manager who had stared and pointed at us all night decided to come by and "apologize." Pretty much saying sometimes bad service just happens. The owner did give us a complimentary bottle of wine for our troubles. The only positive of the night was the guitarist playing. He was very good. We definitely will not go back and would recommend anyone looking for a winery visit Los Pinos instead. read more

My family (husband, son and fiancé, sister in law, nephew and wife) visited Enoch's Stomp 11/20/16 for dinner. We had all read good reviews and heard from friends that this was a great place to eat and the wines were really good. My future daughter in law has already posted about her experience so I won't rehash all the details but our experience was the worst we have had in a very long time. She didn't mention that once we were seated no one came to our table for at least 20 min. That is unacceptable. Over cooked chicken was the theme for 5 of 7 dishes and the pork chop meal was way over cooked and tough. I encourage the owner, kitchen manager ??? to take a close look and sample what they are putting out for customers. I guarantee they would leave a lot of food on the table just like we did. I was very disappointed and wish we had $200 back. Maybe the Tasting Room with appetizers and bar food is what everyone is raving about. Maybe after a bottle of wine people lose their sense of taste! We live in the area and will not be back. read more
