A bit of a drive from I-20 and you have to wait a bit bc they cook everything from scratch, but it was worth the drive & the wait. The home-made hamburger patty was thick & flavorful. Kind of a funky little place that doesn't look like much from the outside but dang the Bubba Burgers are the best! Easily 1/2 pound of beef. I got the bacon cheeseburger. Cooked to perfection with all the fixins. Fries were cooked just right, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. One of our group got the catfish. Ate a Bubba Burger Aug 17. My first. Ordered a double Bubba with cheese, lettuce, tomato, no mustard, mayo only. Onion rings. Table mate also ordered a double no cheese. The size was formidable. Patties were juicy, good hamburger flavor. I could only finish half. Onion rings no good. Greasiest onion rings I've ever seen and actually attempted to eat. Not limp greasy, crispy, but drenched. Laid extra napkins down to drain.....did not help. Paid for this later. I would go back for a burger but not the rings! Table service was good. Does take awhile to get your burger.....and I know it's fresh cooked but still it took awhile. Table mate tried a hot link sample. Don't bother, not good and he is a sausage man. I swear last time I was here they had fresh cut fries. This past weekend was a bit disappointing. They are serving frozen crinkle cut fries and it took our party of 7 over 2 hours to get our burgers and frozen fries. And I do not recommend using the bathroom they have on site. Don't let the outside fool you, the food and the service make it well worth the trip and the price is more than right. Walked in and automatically greeted, seated, and drink order taken. Got the big bubba burger and fries. I had to get it to go because I was pressed for time but they did it no problem. Almost a 1/2lb of meat ground fresh daily and cooked to perfection. So i went here yesterday, takes a good 20 minutes to get here from where i live. My two daughters sit down and place our order. I get us a dr pepper and diet dr pepper and i forgot to push the bubble on the lid. Mind you i have been battling a cold and couldn't tell the difference between the two and my daughter just had her wisdom teeth pulled the previous day. So i decide to redo the sodas, apparently i made a terrible mistake in doing so. The owner of the shop started into a huge rant about people wasting his money and mocked me while in the kitchen for not knowing the difference. He did this for around 5 minutes, we decided we had enough and left. I paid for the soda but had to buy something extra because it was under 5 bucks. The last time im going there. This is definitely a hole in the wall joint. This place is very old and worn. Came at lunch and was packed with locals. I quickly found out why it was so packed. I ordered the specialty "The Bubba Burger". It is a huge piece of juicy meat placed between two grilled buns that is only used to soak up the juices. The patty is over a 1/2 inch thick. Not as salty as I like, but just add some. To me, it's really better than Wingfield's in Dallas. The flavor of the meat is better. More meat than any burger should have on it. This is quite possibly the best hamburger on the planet. For 5$ you get nearly a lb of meat. They raised the beef out there and grind it fresh. Mary Fugler was the person who I talked to. George Foreman mentioned this restaurant as the place to get burgers on the tonight show. The outside is not pretty, but I honestly think this is the best hamburger on the planet. My only regret is that I have lived in marshall for so long and did not know it existed until I checked yelp for high ratings. When I ate there last I accidently left a bottle of vitamins on the table. Mary Fugler put it in a brown paper bag and put it in my mailbox at my house. Then left me a phone message to check my mail box. She had to look me up in the phone book to do this. What kind of business people do business like this now a days? I have only been to the restaurant a few times so far and she took the time to return this item. This place is a Marshall Texas treasure. Go. I wish they had more stars. I recently went to new orleans and ate at places rated the best in the world for various items, like fried chicken at willie mae's scotch house. I was sad that where I live we do not have amazing best in the world foods like new orleans does. Then I discovered fuglers. We do have a place in the marshall area where they do serve a "best in the world" food item. I am 50 now and this is literally the best burger for the money anywear. The Bubba Burger was really good and big. According to "The Texas Bucket List" video it is a 3/4 pound patty. It is huge and they offer a double and triple. Can't imagine eating 2 1/4 pounds of meat on a burger but I guess some do since it is on the menu. Really cheap prices for so much food. Also off chicken fried steaks, ribeyes, sirloins, and many different sandwiches and sides. Today they even had oysters fried and on the half shell. Don't know if we'll go back anytime soon since we live quite sways from it but if in that area we will stop in again. read more

Came here for the famous Bubba Burgers! We were not disappointed. As other reviewers have noted, the burgers are large! A great price too-around $5-6 for what was probably the biggest burger I have ever had! They are cooked perfectly-no pink in the middle-and with excellent seasoning. Good ratio of vegetables also. The burgers are surprisingly not very greasy, so the buns are able to withstand the meat without getting soggy. The cheese was melted perfectly, and my husband was glad he went with the bacon. I didn't set out to finish the monstrosity, but my tastebuds got the best of me and before I knew it, my burger was gone. We weren't hungry for the rest of the day! We had an order of pickle chips also. They were just okay. We tried to order tater tots first and they were out. The horror.. Honestly though, no sides are needed here!
