The service and atmosphere were really fun for brunch. The zucchini noodles with lemon buttery sauce lacked flavor and I left hungry. The portions were not filling for $25. Everyone else in my party, left full and loved their dishes. I believe I just ordered the wrong dish for my appetite. Due to my gluten allergy, my selections were limited. Enrigo's Italian Bistro is such a cute, cozy spot and honestly just a solid go-to when you want good Italian food without overthinking anything. The vibe is warm and relaxed, the staff is super friendly, and everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. I tried everyone's food at the table and it was so delicious. The pasta is made in house, and you can just taste and feel the freshness. Service is splendid as well. Trust me, it's a huge compliment and you won't be disappointed. Located in Cary's Waverly place, Enrigo's serves up authentic Italian dishes made with quality ingredients including fresh pasta and pizza dough. This place was recommended highly but I don't know why?? Upon entering there was no one greeting guests. We sat fairly quickly. Then about 10 minutes later someone came to fill waters, said they would bring bread but none came. 10 minutes later the bread came, still no greeting from any server. Someone approached the table and said do you know what you want?? WTF??? We gave our order, food came in a timely manner, chicken dish was quite good, fish dish was bland and tasteless. NO ONE EVER came to the table to check how we were. We sat there again waiting for our plates to be cleared and a Togo box. I had to ask this nice fella for his help w a box and the check. Our server was no where to be found????. It was almost 70$ for two meals. We paid and left . No one said bye, thank you, NOTHING! I ran restaurants for years in NYC this is unacceptable!! My husband and I rarely go out to eat, it's a huge treat for us. This experience was awful, we felt as if we were a burden to this server. He was so unpleasant and rude. We will never come back here nor will I recommend this to any of my out of town NYC restaurant clients. So disappointing. read more

It was our first time coming to this restaurant, and the entire Waverly Place open-air shopping area. We just found out about Enrigo after watching an Instagram reel from lindaeatsworld earlier that week. It was a rainy evening, and entering the cozy ambiance of Enrigo with its dim lights and relaxing and vibrant environment just felt right. We were welcomed by a friendly Italian staff who greeted us in Italian. The first thing I noticed inside was the bar but the entire night I was focused on my Valentine, and of course, the Italian food. Angelo was our server; his positive energy is a wonderful representation of the Italian spirit as he served food and wine with grace and warm hospitality. The complimentary bread was good but we were a bit surprised to see that it was served with butter in the same kind of packaging that you get with airplane food, rather than the dipping oil other Italian restaurants serve with their bread. Angelo was kind to give us a couple of Bruschetta - toasted Ciabatta bread with tomato marinated in Extra Virgin oil & garlic. Every bite was a healthy crunch, and we ate the Bruschettas and the bread while we waited for our main pasta dishes. When we were trying to decide which wine to order, Angelo recommended based on the pasta each of us ordered. He recommended the $11 glass of white wine for my girl's Linguini Allo Scoglio; and he recommended a glass of red wine for my Rigatoni Al Ragu Di Maile. He let us taste-test each of the wine before we decided to go for them. It didn't take long for our pasta dishes to arrive to our table. Angelo sprinkled grated parmesan cheese on my Rigatoni Al Ragu Di Maile & my Valentine's Linguini Allo Scoglio. I enjoyed the meaty pork ragu sauce of my Rigatoni, and the combination of carrots, celery, onions, rosemary, sage, red wine, and marinara was satisfying. And the cheese was just right. The glass of red wine went well with my perfectly-cooked pasta. The extra teaspoonful of grated parmesan cheese I requested didn't affect the flavor of the Rigatoni much. My girl wanted to eat pasta with seafood, and the Linguini Allo Scoglio was the best seafood pasta dish she's ever tried. There's a generous amount of shrimp, flounder, clams, and mussels on her plate, and it was well-sauted with olive oil, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and a touch of tomato sauce. She was wondering why there was no meat inside the clam shells, but it seemed that the mixture of briny, clammy juices formed the base of the sauce, which she enjoyed with the linguini's texture. Her glass of white wine went well with her pasta. After devouring our delicious pasta dishes, we were already full, so we didn't consider ordering dessert. Thankfully, however, the gentleman Angelo served each of us Vanilla Panna Cotta, small vanilla custard topped with strawberry puree. The custard wasn't too sweet, and the creamy texture and the strawberry flavor on top just made our Valentine's dinner more memorable. As we headed out of the restaurant, we told each other how much we enjoyed our pleasant Italian dining experience here, and expressed our intention to explore the rest of Waverly, and of course, our desire to return to Enrigo Italian Bistro. Take out order of veal piccata & spaghetti & meatballs & bread. Very good bread!! I appreciate the liberal amount of capers included in the piccata. The veal was a little tougher than usual though. Finally had a full Enrigo dinner experience and it was a true delight. Four of us arrived for an early dinner before a concert at Koka Booth and from the moment we were greeted until we left, it was fantastic service, food and wine. We enjoyed their complimentary bruschetta with tomatoes, their regular Italian bread, the calamari appetizer and all four entrees. Husband was a huge fan of their ravioli. I couldn't have loved my pasta with clams and zucchini (a special) more. Others enjoyed a chicken special and the Veal Saltimbocca. The only dislike was the gal who had the veal did not like the mashed potatoes that came with it. She thought they were overwhipped. I tried them and actually liked them. About a year ago we were at a show and one of the performers mentioned they had just had the best Italian meal they had had in a long time and they traveled all over the place. They were talking about Enrigo. And I have to agree. It was really terrific. read more

We ordered three full platters for a graduation party. Everyone loved the food. It was prepared perfectly and on time and packaged well. We had some sternos and racks from a previous party and were able to use those to keep the pasta and lasagna warm for the duration of the party. This is our family go-to spot for outstanding Italian food. We've celebrated 90th and 70th family birthday parties there this year, and we have come for just an excellent dinner. The service is incomparable! We are frequently waited on by Dali, whose exuberance and knowledge, combined with great flexibility and stellar recommendations make each visit memorable. The restaurant itself is attractive and clean. It tends to be a lively environment, and can get pretty loud inside. Highly recommended!!! read more

So happy to be back at Enrigo Italian Bistro! This time for a solo lunch. Was greeted warmly by owner Gabe with a glass of Prosecco. Waiter Manny (and honestly all the staff) always makes me feel welcome and comfortable. Nice buzz in the restaurant for Friday lunch. Italian music playing. I'll give this place 3 stars because the service was excellent and the ambience pretty good. The food was very mediocre but then again it's very tough to get good Italian in the triangle. Wine list and beer list oooooph swing and a miss. We got the calamari app and it was average at best. The small rings were rubbery and overcooked and the larger rings were better. I got the carbonara and it was decent. Nice rich sauce and pasta cooked fairly well. My daughter enjoyed the chicken oicatta and they allowed her to sub the potatoes for spaghetti which was nice. The sauce was super tangy. My wife got the chicken Marsala and the chicken was decent but the mashed potatoes were awful. They were definitely instant potatoes which raises the question why have that as the side with the Marsala or even on the menu. Fairly reasonable as most dishes seemed to be in that $20-$30 range which is not expensive. I can't remember the waiters name but he was very nice and attentive. I did watch a 5 ft 5 Italian head waiter or owner belittle a hostess/food runner and it was unprofessional and gross. Treat people how you want to be treated and she was probably in high school. read more

My wife had lunch with several friends there today. She paid her bill with a credit card and Enrigo's promptly lost her credit card. Everyone else at the table got their card back. The staff at Enrigo merely shrugged their shoulders and took no accountability. Another person with my wife got a bill from another table. No apology or adjustment to my wife's bill by Enrigo, despite the manager "visited" the table. Referring to them as inept is too kind. My wife just spent the last hour on the phone cancelling her credit card and ordering a new one. The food was mediocre. I suggest that you avoid this very sloppily run restaurant. read more

My friends and I loved the food. However, we felt rushed by our server and we were there for under one hour (having made reservations for 4 pm). On the advice of friends, we went to Enrigo's for our 46th anniversary. Did not disappoint. Best lasagna I have ever had. No contest. Ditto for my wife on the chicken marsala. Huge menu. Great open-air atmosphere. Don't eat too much bread waiting for your entree. The desserts looked like to did for. The couple next to us each had huge slices of tiramisu. Hidden gem in Cary! Went on a Thursday night - very busy and I now know why! The atmosphere is completely Italian. We chose to sit at the bar. The service was excellent. The noise level was decent but people still having a great time. Dishes we enjoyed: Caprese - delicious and very generous portion. Chef's Tagliolini - a lemon based HOME MADE flat pasta. Very fresh and crisp. Bread basket - great bread. Butter could have been softer. Vanilla Panna Cotta - perfect way to end the night with this lush, yummy side note. One small thing to note is they do not take reservations but when we - two of us - walked in to be seated, they asked if we had reservations. Such an amazing "old school feel" Italian restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the staff treat you like you are a long time regular.. We started with the crostini trio sampler (bruschetta,prosciutto, & mushroom), My wife got the house made pasta with pesto chicken, my daughter, the cheese pizza, in which they make their dough in house. I was hoping that since there was fresh pasta there would also be complementary bread with olive oil instead of butter. The food that came out for tables looked really good. I had the margarita pizza which was not exciting, I know. This experience was even less exciting because there were no tomato slices on the pizza, they just rely on the tomato sauce base. mozzarella (not fresh mozz) and a few small springs of basil. Our first vist for dinner on Christmas eve was wonderful! Even with no reservation, we were seated immediately. Complimentary glass of proseco. Very busy and loud... just like I'd imagine a trattoria in Italy. Nicko was the perfect host / manager. Seems like everyone that was there or entered after us was "family". Food was outstanding. It lacked flavor, felt that they had not used the best of ingredients, there was not enough butter, cheese or cream. This was amazing. We went there with great anticipation of enjoying their "homemade" pasta dishes. When seated, while studying the menu, we noted that some tables had tablecloths on them, ours did not. Then we noted that a manager, or owner, greeted the people sitting at the tables with the table cloths. Then saw that these people all got a free glass of prosecco and a free bruschetta. We got none of this. We were never greeted by anyone after were seated. We felt like second class citizens. If you wanted to be treated this way, then go there. By the way, their "home made pasts" was chewy and pasty. Also, only heated with a sauce, which was not enough to make it tasty or warm. The waitperson was also inattentive. Overall giving this spot a 3/5 because the food was not impressive to my party so we likely won't return again. The ambiance was casual and nice, its a louder spot but looks to be great for groups, parties, or birthdays. If you're looking for something more intimate I'd probably look elsewhere. Food wise we got: - the calamari 1/5 a hard no from me, pretty chewy & needed to be fried alittle longer. The tartar sauce was delicious though!! The marinara had little flavor. - caesar salad 2/5 different tasting from traditional and not necessarily what I was looking for, good portion though and homemade croutons were good - alfredo 3.5/5 tasty! But wouldn't order again, didn't wow - ravioli 4/5 also tasty! I may try something different if I did it over but it was definitely good. I just absolutely love this restaurant. It makes me feel like I'm back in Italy or back home with my Italian family. When you arrive you are greeted promptly and always with a smile. We stopped by for lunch and it was pretty good. We came between lunch and dinner so we had the place to ourselves mostly. The bread was delicious, but came with packets of cold butter; it would have been wonderful to have some oil/vinegar or creamy and easy to spread butter instead of the packets. The food was bland. The service at the bar left much to be desired. The atmosphere and owner were nice.

Our server was Ksenia. We were seated as a party of five, at a table clearly designed for 4. A fifth chair was added to one end of the table, giving us VERY little room to be comfortable. Most restaurants would typically toss two tables together to give everybody ample room. We were waiting on two guests to arrive, and while we waiting we were urged by our server to get our entire order in quickly because the kitchen was "busy" and you had a lot of"reservations". First the kitchen couldn't have been busy because the place was less than 50% full when we sat down. And from what I was told you don't take reservations, so how could she know there were reservations? Our two missing guests arrived and even prior to sitting down (they were taking off their coats), they were asked if they wanted anything to drink. Like cmon. The server stepped away for 30 seconds so they had a chance to look at the menu, and came back and gave them the same monologue about getting the entire order in now cuz of the busy kitchen and full reservations. We order Calamari as an appetizer, which we ate was very bland. Absolutely no seasoning in the breading. My mother in law (whose birthday it was), and her sister both got Saltimbocca. One veal one chicken. They both got mashed potatoes, which had GIANT chunks in it (they had to mash themselves with their forks). Both meats looked as if they had a slice of cheese simply slapped on top, the veal was VERY tough, it had to be sawed through to get through it, and both dishes again, lacked any seasoning. My wife got the Carbonara, which again, is not a "black pepper first" style dish, however it was so peppery she couldn't finish it. And when the server asked her and she said she didn't enjoy it, the server said "oh okay" and went on about her business. I had a pizza, which was alright. It wasn't life changing, but it was pizza. My wife's cousin got the Linguini allo Scoglio, which again suffered from lack of seasoning. It seemed the general consensus was that everything lacked seasoning. And frankly, I was appalled that we were rushed to order order order, when not a SINGLE other server asked the same of their table. And lastly the sheer lack of care when it came to seating was just entirely unappealing read more
