This is the worst place ever. They use a third party scheduling in Philippines that the language barrier is beyond unbearable so don't call the number thinking you are getting someone who is in the office. The office managers and staff in East Brunswick especially Daniella is beyond unprofessional when I explained to her that I manager a medical office and this is not the way you handle a situation your staff messed up on her response is WHAT KIND OF OFFICE DO YOU MANAGE " even thought I answered what does it matter. She continued to tell me that if I showed up in her office with my son my appointment would be canceled I am wasting my time. I have to see the doctor he previously saw in only old bridge . I said I am alittle confused my son need stitches taken out that your staff failed to make his appointment in the computer when we left ? OMG I just received my EOB's and I was billed 4x for a hearing test. You will be charged over $300 for a 10 minute hearing test along w/ a 3 minute dr. visit showing you the graphs. So I'm at 90 minutes on hold trying to reach billing. They have an automated system and will even call you back so you don't have to wait but ...BUTTTT...once they answer, they just throw you back in the hold line. I cannot reach billing. They make it easy to pay but not easy to question. Worst Dr. office experience I ever had trying to reach what are evidently the business billing people on the planet (no wonder when you see their bills). I did send email with my contact info. and they WERE able to explain my very high HIGH charges so I'll pay....but they couldn't answer why it takes 2 hours and jumping through hoops to reach a live person. This isn't IBM with 100,000 people calling every day. The system for reaching people like in billing or almost anything other than appointments is shockingly horrendous. read more

This office has the worst wait times, consistently waiting 30+ minutes to be seen each time I've been here (~5 times). Also if you make an appointment online, you fill in all your info - only to get to the office and be sent a registration link where you have to do it all again. What's the point? The front staff has no idea what they're doing. I was locked out front and then I called to ask if they could let me in-- she acted like I was stupid and was making up the that the door was locked. I came in and sat down for 15 minutes while she couldn't figure out how to transfer my forms that I filled out on the computer to my account. She was getting very frustrated and acted like she had so much to do that pulling my forms would overload her day that much- Went into the Dr. Azer, ya I'll never go to him again. He had the personality of a nail and I felt like I was bothering him. Hello you are the doctor be a little nicer. I was his first appointment, by his third I can imagine he was a real sweetie. He also charred my nose and was very rough during my procedure. I said that hurts and he could careless and goes well that's how it is. Okay you jerk --never again. Im pretty sure they only want your money too because I had to come back for a check up, which I obviously am not going back there to pay another copay for nothing. Please stay away from this place. They charged $1100 for 10 minute ear infection visit in the Old Bridge location. They billed for 40 minute visit!!!! Part of the charge was $760 for nasal endoscopy that took 15 seconds. The doctor did not share how expensive this procedure was going to be, plus it was not necessary to add that procedure. They keep asking for follow up visits!!!!! All they care about is MONEY!!! I rather donate the money to charity than give it to a place that it's overcharging patients. The staff and doctors at the Manalapan location are fantastic. The appointment scheduling and check in process was a breeze. The nurses were welcoming, understanding and willing to answer questions. I went in to this office before Christmas because I was in extreme pain and my primary wasn't open. Rather than go to Urgent Care or the ER, I came here. The front desk was great and I didn't have to wait long (the only reason I gave 2 stars). Once I got into the exam room, they took my vitals and proceeded to joke with me why my BP and pulse were so high - I was in horrible pain, that's why. Then when Dr. Azer came in and then left after he examined me - I could hear them talking about me outside the door and laughing at me! If I wasn't in the pain I was in, I would have left right then and there. The only time Dr. Azer was attentive was when I mentioned I had repeated throat infections and he saw $$$ when he mentioned taking out my tonsils. I won't be back. read more

When your doctor (Dr. Chowdhury)gets overly excited to find your hearing loss, there is a problem. Especially when I'm only 40 years old. That was my experience there and not only did he get excited in his office but outside his office among the staff. So unprofessional.He was like yup it's cookie bite hearing loss, yay! I went in for ear infections, which his answer was I didn't know how to shower. Which is no answer and insulting. I wound up going to a ear specialist at Columbia in Manhattan who figured it out. Insane- my 8 year old daughter who is a patient and currently experiencing an excruciating ear infection can't see her doctor until 2 months from now? They have a call center, you can't speak to anyone in the office. I could only get what sounded like a child on the phone who asked me about 30 questions about my insurance, put me on hold for 20 minutes, and then told me the soonest appointment for my sick child was 2 months from now. We've been seeing this office for years, they put my daughter's tubes in, but we can't even make an appointment when she's sick? We just called another doctor and got in this week as a new patient. Dr. Farhad Chowdhury was amazing! I have been having hoarseness for a few mos now and I wanted to get it checked out. I was referred to Dr. Chowdhury by friends who came to him with their kids chronic ear infections. I was able to got an appointment very quickly, and I was actually surprised that he could just put a scope in right then and there in his office and figure out my issue so quickly!! I was a little nervous so he took his time and made sure I was comfortable. He talked me through my procedure and did a wonderful job of explaining what he found and also discussing treatment options. It turns out I have nodes! (hello, PITCH PERFECT FANS! lol) He was thorough, warm and informed. I really appreciated how modern the office is -all the paperwork can be done electronically prior to my visit, and there are TVs in the exam rooms so that you can watch the doctor doing his procedure. The staff was warm and wonderful. I would highly recommend Dr. Chowdhury and this practice to my friends and family members. read more

I'll start with the light hearted part of this review. This ENT overcharges, they are contracted as a tier 1 provider on my insurance and are only suppose to charge $35 but instead charged me a co-pay of $75 each visit. I was here 3 times, that adds up and yes my child has an obsession when it comes to lodging things up her nose and ears. Now for the last visit. Dr. Chowdhury feels uncomfortable taking objects out of a toddler's ears, go figure he's an ENT. He saw us, checked my 2 year olds ear and refused to try anything other than anesthesia. I am unsure any parent would feel comfortable with such a suggestion. He actually said something along the lines, they would have to strap my daughter down to remove a foreign body otherwise and it was lodged in a way that would prevent him from going around and pulling it out. After, the five minute visit that left me literally sick I got home and searched for another ENT. Made an appointment that same day at an ENT an hour from us. The seasoned doctor pulled out the foreign object, part of a peanut, in less time than we spent in the waiting room. My daughter didn't even see it coming, she thought he was just going to look in her ear again.....literally a minute ordeal. Dr. Azer is the only reason this place deserves a 1 star since he has no problem taking stuff out of toddler's ears w/o the use of anesthesia..... read more

Dr Azer and his team are wonderful. He is thorough and twice has diagnosed a problem that was missed by our pediatrician. I appreciate that he did not throw her on a antibiotic but rather got to the root of the problem and provided the proper treatment. Our appointment was easy to make online, all insurance and health updates done the day prior through a text on my phone, text communication upon arrival the day of appointment, wait time was minimal. I visited Dr. Chowdhury for a second opinion after my 2 year old son with monthly ear infections was dismissed by a different ENT. The entire staff at ENT Old Bridge was so amazing. The audiologist Ralph (forgot his last name) was so wonderful and patient with my shy, nervous son. The nurse who took us to the room was so kind. And Dr. Chowdhury took his time to listen to my concerns, give me his opinion, explain everything so thoroughly and make sure I was confident in his plans to give my son tubes in his ears. I truly cannot said enough nice things about the whole office and experience. Even the gentleman at the desk was so sweet and gave my son two prizes from the treasure chest. Went in to the office with a hope to be urgently seen due to trauma to my inner ear and possibility of perforation to my tympanic membrane. I was told by the front desk that there are no appointments available !!!! Tried to explain that this a 3 seconds maximum that I need and that this is an emergency. Saw 3 different doctors and not a single one helped or gave any productive information. They were rude and stayed for maybe 2 minutes and charged a ridiculous amount for no checkup and insight. Review Specifically for Farhad R. Chowdhury, DO. Most miserable experience w obstinate, arrogant, obnoxious Dr. imaginable. Summary: Wait for nearly HR in waiting room. Another person w same 1st name goes in. (No-one checks last name) Then my name is FINALLY called so I go in through door & no one is there! No One. I stand there bewildered for a bit & finally see a staff member who I ask where I should go. She isn't sure so goes to find out. Turns out my privacy (HIPPA?) was violated & they told another patient my name/address, etc. & she LIED saying she was ME! Whoa!! Nurse comes in & tells me this. (I suggest they put a note re this on other person's chart). Minutes later, Dr. eventually shows up, "barely" glances at issue with light for mere seconds, says something about & is "done". He's literally walking out of the room. I stop him to ask if I may ask 2 questions. He gives me MAJOR attitude & so I mention after waiting over an hour that I felt he should give me the time to answer my other questions. First he mumbles, "I don't know what happened there" when he confirms on his screen that I had a 2:40 pm appt, but instead of merely apologizing, when I tried to steer conversation back to my medical concerns, he interrupts & states arrogantly, argumentatively, and frankly, stupidly, (and this is verbatim) "it wasn't over an hour that you waited, first of all, I'm looking at the time-check. Your appt was at 2:40, I put you in at 2:30, I'm sorry at 3:30, so waited 40 minutes, it happens.." Thus, besides showing he's terrible at BASIC math/bedside manner, he continued to behave unprofessionally and defensively. He then continues looking @ clock & my appt time & erroneously states time is 3:45 (it wasn't - it was 3:56 on his computer, so I was there over 1 ¼ hrs at this point) & then he is FULLY DISMISSIVE of my questions/concerns, which I'm still trying to politely ask. Despite my recognition of his erroneous time estimate, I replied I didn't want to waste time arguing about the time. The way he interrupted & said, "first of all" - like he was setting up a defensive argument in court, was off-putting, & unnecessary (why not just apologize for the wait & answer my questions/concerns?!!) & 2ndly, he didn't come INTO THE ROOM @ 3:30 - I waited quite a bit of time - even recording my own voice into my memo recorder that I was getting annoyed. And even by his own (faulty) estimate, it would be 50 minutes, not 40. He then CONTINUED to argue with me not just during the brief visit, but after I exited & very politely asked receptionist if I needed to check out, this Dr. unprofessionally starts commenting about how I had no right to ask my questions & no right to be upset about waiting! So I asked him if he had to wait over an hour for a restaurant for which he had a reservation (even if 5-starred) would he be happy with waiting? And excruciatingly, and incredulously, he continues to argue!! I had enough abuse, so I turn to leave when staff INSISTS I speak to mgr, Melissa, which I didn't want to do. She corrals me into a back room & I express I need to leave quickly. Just then she gets called by staff to help w something, inexplicably leaving me to wait AGAIN. Ok. She returns fast but then keeps door closed with HER HAND on it - I felt like a prisoner. She then tells me how this Dr. is ALWAYS Respectful and FULLY ANSWERS ALL QUESTIONS, ETC. AT WHICH POINT I STAY CALM BUT AM IRATE, because what she is stating could not be further from the truth!! I couldn't tell if she believed her own inaccurate words. (So I explained to her & to other staff how I have "proof" of what occurred.) And that (probably to their great dismay) this was not a "he says - she says" type of thing. Insufficient characters to explain in this review, but the Dr. has no way to lie nor can he or his staff "misconstrue" anything said in the exam room. My privacy (HIPPA?) was indeed violated by this other person "cutting me in line" by impersonating me when staff gave other patient my personal info & only asked for yes/no confirmation. And Dr. was clearly flippant, dismissive, argumentative & unhelpful. PS After speaking at length to mgr in person (& then new mgr who called me the next day to rehash incident) wasting even MORE of my time -many hours at this point, they shockingly STILL won't even drop the charges (as of yet) which astonishes me that they feel justified to charge for such abuse! Sadly, this has now forced my hand to take further steps, & likely make more formal complaints. More time wasted - but evil prevails when good men do nothing. PS I am Jewish. Dr. Chowdhury, if you're reading, were you biased or prejudiced against me simply because I had a Jewish name?? I can't imagine you'd have the audacity to treat your Indian/Muslim patients with the same indignation and dismissiveness you showed me, or do you? The appointment wait times are unreasonable. You are advised to arrive 20 or 30 minutes prior to your appointment and still left to wait in the waiting room for another 30-45 min past the appointment time. The staff does not communicate well and the billing dept does not bother to call the insurance company to place a claim. I would not recommend this practice. The one star is for doctors I saw who seemed capable and knowledgeable. I was not able to obtain the hearing aids I needed in 4 months and went elsewhere and was able to get them in a week. I visited the East Brunswick ENT location a few times to see Dr. Kenneth A. Kaplan. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! He is a HORRIBLE DOCTOR. He didn't listen to any of my concerns regarding my post nasal drip, he prescribed me 2 different medications and nasal spray, however none of the meds worked. I expressed to Dr. Kaplan on multiple occasions the medicine he had prescribed was not a fit for me, he told me to try mucinex and said that was the best that could be done for me. I was so upset I later contacted the office and asked to speak with the manager. Within 24hrs I received a call from (Daniel) the manager, of course she sided with Dr. Kaplan. SHE WAS OF NO HELP EITHER!!! She told me to come in for another visit with Dr. Kaplan. I told her I would not schedule another visit because he's not listening to me. I have been extremely uncomfortable for months with post nasal drip & and mucus that is stuck in my throat and Dr. doesn't seem to care. Basically they want me to continue to schedule appointments so that they can take my money ! Absolutely not. I asked to speak with her Daniels boss. (Sherry) Daniels boss called me back shortly after. She wasn't much of help either because she wasn't an actually dr so she could not recommend anything but she was very pleasant to speak with & said if I knew of a medication that would help I could call them back with the name and she also stated that she could schedule me an appointment with another doctor at another location. She mentioned sometimes a second opinion is needed but I am so freaking frustrated I don't know if I want to go through that again. Don't go to this location and if you do avoid doctor Kaplan. I recently was at the office in Old Bridge. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable and professional, however the staff is something that this respectable place have to take care of. It is important that people at the front desk know the difference between the speech therapist and ENT specialist and that ENT does not treat speech pathologies. It is just embarrassing to hear that from your staff, who are just giggling it out and doesn't know enough of medical terminology and giving patients wrong leads. Medical assistant (at least the one that I saw) decided to record my asthma medicine under different name and dosage ONLY because the plastic cap for my inhaler looked like the old design for the different brand. Insisted that it is me - who didn't know the difference but then googled the correct package. I had a horrible experience with the ENT Surgeon Dr. Farhad Chowdhry. He was nice but recommended surgery for a sinus infection that turned out to be just allergy symptoms. When I asked if nasal spray or allergy meds would help, he said no. After my insurance company denied surgery, I was desperate for relief. I went to St. Peters and was seen by a physician's assistant who explained that I should have had a ct scan with contrast instead of without because it would show more. I did and to my surprise, there was NO infection. You would think that after he put a camera down my nose on 3 ocassions he would be able to tell; if not, then why not order a ct scan with contrast? Good thing my insurance denied it. I'm fine now and no longer require Flonase and Zyrtec. read more

I had a totally positive experience from the minute I walked in and was greeted with a Big Smile from Jodi The patient Rep at the front desk. She explained everything in detail in filling out the forms on the electronic pad and made my visit pleasurable. when I went to the back I was greeted by the MA Claudia who was very friendly and took all my information and prepped me to see the doctor. They charged my wife for a regular visit $825, they marked down on the invoice that she received "Nasal Endoscopy", all what she received that day was a normal check up exam, nothing special, her insurance didn't pay for the visit because of the deductible, I called the office couple times, I asked why the bill was that high and why these charges were never disclosed, they had no clear answer. Went for Vertigo and Tinitis...doctor was 1:35 minutes late, 10:10 appointment and saw Dr. at 11:45...did quick meeting and set me up to meet in a week with hearing aid sales person. It was a big con to sell me a $5,500 hearing aid with no testing or evidence I needed it. Big Rip off. Will go to professional ENT in the future. The front desk at this office certainly needs some help. Early mornings are understaffed. You will sit in the waiting room unable to check in while the front desk answers the phone that rings off the hook. I can tell you stories about those front desk girls just from waiting for so long in the waiting room and hearing their loud annoying life conversations completely unrelated to work. Get back to work ladies!! As for the doctors...AMAZING!! My 5 yo had his tonsils and adenoids removed by Dr. Mehta in June. I originally tried to find a pediatric ENT that accepts our insurance but had no luck. My son is very nervous around doctors so I wasn't to sure how our initial appointment was going to go. Let me tell you Dr. Mehta is THE BEST. He seriously has the best bedside manner with little ones. My son immediately felt comfortable (and so did I). He also had to meet with the audiologist in the Old Bridge office who was also amazing. There were differing opinions as to whether or not my son would need tubes along with the other surgeries. Dr Mehta went over the results and said he was confident that once he removed the adenoids and tonsils it would not only cure his sleep apnea but the fluid that had been in the ears for years would drain. Well he was right! My son is 100% healthy for the 1st time in a long time! I can't even remember the names of all of the doctors he has seen in his 5 years but if you ask him his favorite doctor he will say "DR. MEHTA!!!!!!!" Highly recommend!!!!! read more

I went with a complaint of severe sinus and eye pain with nosebleed when descending on an airplane a week ago. Nosebleed has continued off and on, the pain (although less) continues. I made the mistake of using the phrase migraine and not sinus headache. All the Dr. did was put a light in the opening of my nose (not entering the nose itself) saw that the sinus was dry and diagnosed "Chapped" sinus. No endoscopy done for the upper sinus as this is where the pain is - my bill has the scope listed anyway. I left feeling completed brushed off. If the test was performed that is listed on my report as having been done, I may have a better idea of what I am dealing with but since I said migraine and not sinus headache, I was dismissed as having a neurological problem even though the pain originates in my upper sinus. read more
