No one answers the phone or calls you back. Rebecca at the front desk was rude on the phone. Do yourself a favor and find another ENT.

I was referred to the Center of Excellence by an ENT doctor who could not do a biopsy of a lymph node and an urgent referral was sent. I left a message, which was returned by the referral coordinator, who lectured me about their referral process taking 14 days, only in the order received, urgent means nothing, doctors won't see it for 14 days. I contrast this with the Dignity Health ENT office. My oncologist referred me for an urgent biopsy, I saw them within a day and surgery would happen in a few days. It turned out they didn't take my insurance but they really tried to work around it. I was treated with dignity and respect, and everyone there was trying to help. I don't know about the quality of the doctors as I only had contact with 2 staff members. Last week I called a staff member, they listened, understood the urgency and said the practice would push the referral through. Today, I spoke to a dragon lady, a person in an office who wields what little power they have against the patients. I was really surprised, my first impression of the office was great, but if management doesn't see her for who she is to patients, how many other staff members are questionable? read more

I work for an medical eye doctor who found a patient to have cancer in his ear when getting an exam. A biopsy was done and this is why we referred our patient. I called and spoke to them, faxed over all required info...A week later tried calling for an update and no return call. Called again, no return call. So I sent a fax and told them if they don't want or can not help the patient then let us know so we can look elsewhere. I was promised they would be calling him and now weeks later, still nothing. So this is long winded so grab a chair and your favorite cocktail. FYI this is my first ever time ever leaving a yelp review.... That's how bad my experience with "Susan" at ENT. From what I understand she does all the scheduling and deals with referrals. Here's the story.... A week after my referral was sent over I called to double check they got it. I called several times and could never get through. A few days later i got through luckily and they said they had not received it. So I had the original doctors office fax it over again, no big deal that pretty standard now a days. I called and couldn't get ahold of anyone, so I waited another week as my wife had an appointment and I'd ask then if they got it then. The front desk lady with the red hair was great. She looked into it for me and told me they needed my insurance card, so no big deal I gave it to her and she took a copy. A call to inform me that they needed it would have been nice... Fast forward 3 weeks and several calls and a few voicemails to Susan to check on status. Nothing. My wife had an appointment today and was able to talk to Susan and she told my wife she was on scheduling referrals from July 3rd... So at this pace I'm thinking ill be around 2 plus months until i even get an appointment date? Never heard of such a thing. So I swung by the office today to talk to Susan to see why I never got a call back EVER and to see if i could at least get a date scheduled for a date ( i don't even care if its 3-6 months out, just knowing a game plan would be nice), or id try and go somewhere else to try and expedite the situation, due to horrible vertigo that came out of no where that I've been living with for weeks. When I met Susan face to face she told me she called me a number of times and even talked to me. When I told her I never received a call and have never spoken to her she got rude and told me once again that she did. I asked her what phone number she had, and I could instantly tell she got irritated I asked that question, granted i did come off a bit rude myself. She stated once again she talked to me and I did get the calls and she even talked to me about the updated insurance. Which is a lie because I physically came to the office and followed up myself due to no calls and gave the front desk lady my insurance card myself.... In the middle of the convo she got a mad look on her face, shook her head and just walked away as i was talking and disappeared. I asked the front desk lady what was going on and she didn't know what to say. I asked if this is how they treated customers and i guess the customer is always wrong. No one said sorry or a manager did not come out to help... I just said i was shocked to be treated this way and left. Mind you we have spent thousands of dollars here with my wife's nose surgeries and constant allergy injections. I hope this reaches Dr Bergstrom which has been amazing to work with might i add. This lady is upsetting customers and making you and your office look incompetent. Considering all the bad yelp reviews are due to communication and scheduling id nip that in the butt for my business. ENT Center Of Excellence - Review - Ear Nose & Throat Near Me - Redding, California

I saw Dr Buxa for several visits in the summer of 2011 - I'd been having frequent nose bleeds for awhile and they were becoming very frequent and inconvenient. I called the office to make an appointment, and quickly got in. The first appointment Dr Buxa asked me a few questions, and took a quick look, apparently I had a blood vessel very superficially located and it was drying out a lot leading to nose bleeds. Dr Buxa sprayed some anesthetic in my nose (a new sensation to me and I could taste it in my throat- quite unpleasant- but seemingly unavoidable). He used chemicals to cauterize the vessel. I had to return a few weeks later as the nose bleeds had not stopped, their office graciously made me another appointment and again Dr Buxa did the chemical cautery and since then no more nose bleeds (almost 2 years later). Dr Buxa was friendly and efficient, I would not hesitate to recommend my wife, family, or friends to go see him! I have also heard very very nice things about Dr Bergstrom but have never seen him myself. I don't know what happened with the 1 star review, because my experience was exemplary! read more

Get a second opinion! Dr. said confidently a simple granuloma. On second visit arrogantly said "not changing diagnosis". Well, better doctors in bay area have found it is paralyzed vocal chord and IT IS CANCER!! Waited months in pain trusting incorrect opinion... bless his heart, but he was mistaken. read more

Been waiting in exam room for 45 minutes! Ridiculous!!!! They want you to be on time for an appointment. You sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes then this. No magazines or other material. Gave me plenty of time to write this. read more

Having a large toddler on-the-go, ear exams are hell. We have visited several doctors prior to our initial visit with Dr. Buxa. He is by far the most caring, gentle, and attentive ENT in the area. The children's waiting play room is a welcoming enjoyable experience that sets a great tone for appointments. We are always promptly scheduled and never have a wait. I truly appreciate Dr. Buxa's conservative approach. He does not over-medicate and we have always received great results from treatments. As a mom, it is very reassuring knowing my little one is getting the best care and we are. Thank you, Dr. Buxa. read more

I was referred to Dr. Buxa for the complaint of having constant sinus infections. When he came in, he didn't really greet me just got straight to point and was pretty rude during the entire appointment. He did not do any accessment of my nose to see what was going on and did not listen to me when I explained what has been going on and the symptoms I have been having. Especially when I told him I have sensitivity to certain antibiotics, he refused to prescribe me the ones I told him I could have and instead kept trying to get me to take ones I never heard of beforehand. He basically told me here take this prescription and expect a call from the imaging center to schedule an appointment for a CT scan and then come back when done. Also the office staff themselves were extremely rude over the phone. I will never go back there and ended up asking my doctor for a referral for a new ENT. Best decision I have ever made. read more

I was diagnosed with "dental" issues when I was seventeen by another ENT here in redding, my face kept swelling for at least a year after that when I finally switched to Dr. Buxa. He diagnosed me immediately with parotitis that was reoccurring. And his actions ended up saving my face. He is an amazing doctor and the best I have seen here in redding. He is extremely caring and did everything he could to help me through that rough time in my life. I am extremely thankful! read more

Wow, this office has the worst staff I have ever experienced. Don't think for one moment that they will be any different with you. They show their true colors after the consultation appointment. The office is exquisitely designed and decorated. That is the ONLY nice thing about this office. Obviously they are very money hungry and have no compassion for the patient. Kelly is Dr. Bergstrom's scheduling nurse whom is very curt and rude when setting up any appointments. My advice to anyone that has been referred to this office or who is thinking of going to this office for anything....think again and go to a different ENT specialist in Redding. You will be very disappointed with these people and you will leave this office thinking you have been slapped across the face...and you honestly have been!! I got the terrible flu that was going around last fall, that ultimately affected my hearing in one ear. People sounded like they were on helium out of that ear. When I called, I was afraid I was going to be put off for a long time, but as soon as I told them how my hearing was affected they got me in right away. I ended up having to get 4 injections in my ear but my hearing is restored!! The office staff was so nice and I would recommend Dr. Buxa a thousand times. He is gentle and has a great disposition, I am very grateful to him! read more
