I'd recommend this escape room for the building in which it is housed alone. It's inside an old school house building from 1902. How cool is that?! Positive remarks: the staff was very kind and accommodating; we had some Late add-ons. It was fun that 2 members started apart from the rest of the group. Some minimal crawling involved, that was a fun change of pace. Things to note: there is not too much of a coherent story in the room we did. It was just a series of puzzles. The room itself had a theme, but the puzzles were not too connected. They were still cool, and it was fun. But it was not a next level escape room. We were visiting from Arizona and have done multiple escape rooms there and this experience was very different and felt very realistic. Being that this is in Manitou, the aesthetic was very helpful towards the vibe of the room experience. My group ended up escaping with 15 minutes to spare! This was my first enter/escape/puzzle room experience and my whole party and I absolutely loved it. I had shied away for awhile after hearing stories of other places where the puzzle/trick/whatever was just way too unreasonably vague or esoteric to achieve for a casual group looking for a fun time; however, enter the room in Manitou (Die-ning with Oliver) was challenging but achievable. We had 4 people and almost got out in the hour. We definitely could have solved everything it was just a matter of how long everything takes. read more

When we had to bail out last min, we were approached by a short tempered uncaring owner, in front of other customers, refusing our refund and telling us to 'suck it up' and just go. After being humiliated he took the group back and sent out his colleague Kelly. Who also approached us with a sour attitude and in no mindset to listen to our concerns. She battled us at every turn. Knowing we weren't getting anywhere and after being continually mistreated, we shook her hand and left. Awesome location in an old school house. Driving into the iron gates and walking up the creaking old stairs starts right away setting the mood for a fun time. My hubby and I walked in off the street and they were able to accommodate us. The room was fun and just hard enough. We wouldn't have made it out if it hadn't been for a few well timed hints provided with a creepy knock on the door. Definitely recommend this experience. read more

Uniquely innovative and fun-packed adventure right here! We had a lot of fun trying to navigate through the process of this experience. You'll need to come mentally prepared (oh, and use the bathroom and have a bite to eat beforehand too) to think, find clues, and solve puzzles. This is a very unique adventure that people of all ages can enjoy participating in. We absolutely enjoyed this as a date nite, but it would be fun for a group, family, or even those visiting from out of town. There is even an option to get together with people you don't know. We had bought our experience through a living social coupon and had a great experience from start to finish. I found the owners extremely responsive and accommodating when we planned our visit. We did this as two families that included 4 teenagers. ALL of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were challenged by the puzzles but not overwhelmed. We can't wait to do it again and hope the Halloween room is a bit scarier. Manitou Springs is delightful as well. This is a very good escape room, with a nice variety of puzzles. If you've never done one, you will definitely be wowed - escape rooms are inherently awesome. Go for it and beware; you may become addicted. However, I'd like to highlight a few things related to my experience as a 17-time escape room veteran and Groupon customer. As to the room itself, it was creative and we did have fun. The current theme (Die-ning with Oliver) was a bit darker and more macabre than many escape rooms, but not really scary. A few things that were different from other rooms and may be of interest to non-newbies: 1) There is NO TIMER of any kind in the room. 2) We were not able to request a clue. We had to wait until they decided to slide one under the door. When the first one came, it skipped over an entire part of the puzzle sequence, so we unknowingly spent a lot of time and mental energy for the rest of our hour trying to figure out elements in the room that were now irrelevant because we had already bypassed them. 3) A few of the locks had the combo letters nearly rubbed off to the point of not being legible. 4) They did not take and post our group's picture after the experience as most rooms do. A staff member did use our phone to take a photo of the group after we requested it, and then we had to share it amongst ourselves. If you have a Groupon, be aware that this business will treat you as lower priority than a non-Groupon customer. Read the fine print. First off, it says you must reserve by phone (no online booking). In reality, when I called I got a voice mail directing me to email them. Just because you see a time slot on the website that works for you with plenty of available space, do not assume they will give it to you. I was told I could not have either of the afternoon times I requested because "we only accept one Groupon per experience" and they had already accepted a Groupon for both slots. I rearranged our entire day's plans to do a later slot with "Groupon availability." After completing the escape room, a few other teammates in the room with us told us about the great price they got - ON GROUPON. So the "one Groupon per experience" line is just a way to avoid scheduling you if they think they still have a shot at getting a full-price customer. I respect their right to have this policy, but I feel it should be more clearly explained in the Groupon description, and that they should actually adhere to it consistently. I have used Groupons at probably half a dozen other escape rooms, and have never been treated as different or less-than their other customers. If you're okay with this, soldier on. Have fun, and be sure to try more escape rooms. There's a huge variety of experiences out there! read more

I was here last week on a date and didn't know what to expect, but I have to say I loved every second of it. We got paired up with 4 other people and they were pretty nice! The owners were very nice and explained everything very well. The actual puzzles were pretty challenging and entertaining. We did some things out of order but there were some genuine brain scratchers and the ambiance was my favorite part. Horrible customer service experience. Bought a Groupon (not sure if that plays into it or not), tried calling several times over the course of 2+ weeks to get a reservation. They have online booking but the only way with a Groupon is to call and leave a message (they don't actually answer the phone). Voicemail box was full for weeks. Finally was able to leave a message (after 8+ tries) and made a reservation. Had to cancel due to our babysitter having an emergency. Told I can't re-book the reservation because it's inside of the 48-hour cancellation policy. I get it, but no offer to try to help make it right--absolutely no effort made to try to get me to be a repeat customer. Mike was short and essentially hung up on me during our conversation. Based on this "who cares" attitude, I would never recommend, and would never spend a dollar here. Too bad--sounded like fun, but definitely not worth the hassle (for me). read more
