Colorado Kill Room: great jump scares, intuitive puzzles, atmosphere was great. Absolutely loved it. Game masters were friendly.

So fun!! We tried the Kill Room and LOVED it!! Fee jump scares but honestly loved the challenge of the puzzles and mystery of the room!

We did the Darkness Falls room. We didn't make it out in time, but it was SO CLOSE! It was just two of us and I think if we had one more person it would have been perfect and given us just the right amount of problem solvers working simultaneously. However, hindsight is 20/20 and the pair of us missed a couple key clues in the beginning that we just kicked ourselves for later! What a great time! My favorite room I have done yet at any escape room company. We will be back to try some of the other rooms for sure! read more

My family and I had a great time at the "Rock Star - The Final Curtain" escape room here. We didn't realize that this was actually their hardest room, and we only had about 3 escape rooms total of experience between me, my fiance, and our daughter (who is 10). Despite that we still had a ton of fun (we asked for a buttload of hints!) and we really enjoyed the challenge even though we weren't able to finish it. Julia was our game master and we really liked her - she had a ton of energy and enthusiasm which makes the experience all the more fun. They did this really awesome thing where when our timer went out, they walked us through the rest of the puzzles. Honestly we were pretty amazed by the challenge and creativity of the puzzles here - there was NO WAY we could have finished it! At least now when we come back for their easier rooms, we will be better primed because of the challenge of this one. Highly recommended! TDLR: Very challenging, creative puzzles. This is probably the best escape room place I've been to. The games and puzzles are really creative, the rooms feel well thought out, there are a large amount of props and they are really inventive with how they incorporate the second room into the game. I love the secret passage ways!! I really like how they let you take your ending picture in the actual room instead of by the front desk like most places. I also really appreciate how our game host asked us if we wanted unprompted hints or not. Some places will just send you hints every time you struggle a tiny bit and it can take the fun out of problem solving. I've done all 3 rooms at this location and was impressed by them all! I will definitely be checking out their additional location "Aha" asap!! Oh and they give an awesome bday gift bag!! Definitely recommend this place! read more

We've participated in 2 escape rooms (both at Locked In Escapes) and we've had a blast! I have no other places to compare, but L-I-E is impressive! The employees are very nice and helpful. Our first one was Darkness Falls and there were 4 of us. It was challenging, but we asked for a lot of clues and made it through with seconds to spare! The 2nd time we went to Cell Block E and we enjoyed that one almost as much. My advice is to not have too many people and ask for a lot of clues. Escape rooms are unique entertainment and are a great way to get to know someone! read more

So, I wanted to surprise my lovely and gracious Wonder Wife with a new, more adventurous date night. I wouldn't tell her what we were doing, which is always a lot of fun... it's like having a little kid who can't wait to open their Christmas presents, so they ask everyday "What's in THAT box?" The location is pretty nondescript - there are no signs (that I saw) telling you where to go, and that worked perfectly for my plans. As it turns out, she has a bit of a phobia about being in locked rooms due to a scary (but, thankfully, harmless) experience as a child. One of the owners assured her she could leave if she needed to, but that she wouldn't want to. As it turns out, she was right... Wonder Wife had a great time, and so did I. There were two other couples who knew each other on our team and it was interesting to watch the group dynamics unfold. The burly tough-looking guy ended up being kind of shy while the Alabama fan with the slow Southern drawl was quite clever. His pregnant wife very much liked to control the activities and the other lady sometimes participated and sometimes didn't. But, everyone had a great attitude and we all had a really good time. Quite frankly, some of the fixtures and props are worn and are looking a little worse for wear. But, I can't imagine what people do to the stuff in those rooms and I would imagine it all takes quite a beating. The puzzles were challenging, but not impossible. I'm a smart guy, but when I walked into the room, my mind went completely blank. I can't imagine trying to figure out one of these rooms with just one or two people. Every single one of us at one point or another came up with a good strategy, idea, solution or question which helped the group progress. The owners seem to be good people and they definitely put together a great experience. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Did the Cell Block E room for a very impromptu date night and had a blast! I thought the puzzles were a good blend of fun, challenge, intuitive, and inspiring teamwork (if that makes sense). Huge shout out to our game master, Jish, for all his enthusiasm (and hints) throughout our time. The quality of the game master acting and the environment hit the balance of fun suspense. This was my first escape room ever and we did Darkness Falls...literally cannot rave enough about our Game Master Maddie and the actual room itself. It was just me and my mom playing and we had an absolute blast! The puzzles were so fun and without spoiling anything, the theme of the room is so incredibly fun to play against. We set this up for my husband's birthday. There were 10 of us in a mixed group: a tween, a couple teens, adults, a gamer, etc. The staff was helpful ahead of time, and they were good at explaining everything for our two rooms. (we ended up getting 2 after learning that it would be better than squishing into 1). We did Cell Block E (not my room) and Darkness Falls. We didn't beat the clock...but we all had a lot of fun. We plan to go back. Our Game Masters were Justin and Caelan. They both did the acting, the clues, etc in a fun way. Highly recommend...whether for a group, a birthday, a date night or friends hanging out. read more

Two nice things about the escape room were that the decoration detail was above average and the staff themselves provided theatric elements at key points in the room. However, there were three critical failures that ruined our fun. First we experienced multiple equipment failures that required staff intervention. A magnet detached in a dexterity puzzle and a push button lock had the push buttons get wedged into an "on" position, automatically entering in bogus codes. Second, there was a lock with a timeout after too many failed attempts. The time penalty was 5 minutes. Such a high penalty for failure is acceptable for a room that is competitive, but wholly inappropriate for a room billed as "an excellent room for families." If that is a thematic statement it should be clarified, we took it as a statement of difficulty. Third, one puzzle required us to unmask and engage in a smell matching contest which is at best questionable in the age of COVID. It is also is unfair to those recovering from long covid symptoms like lack of smell. There should be an alternate means to acquire that code. So even though we solved the room, this was the least fun escape room we as a family have ever attempted, and we've done some bad ones. One more bonus critique: linear solution paths suck. read more

This was by far one of the best escape rooms I've done! My out-of-town friends and I had cabin fever after the blizzard and decided to try to find an escape room to do. We did Darkness Falls and went from cabin fever to an abandoned cabin in the woods! I messaged their Facebook page and got a near immediate response. We booked online which was an easy process. The owner was so friendly and got us into our room promptly. They have lockers to store your things, which I appreciated. The room was challenging, spooky, and very well thought-out! Before we were even able to experience Locked In Escapes we had to reschedule a few times due to a family emergency and then a last minute change of plans and they were awesome! I don't think we should have been able to reschedule once based on our tickets but Dawn kindly worked with us to make it happen and was so helpful and gracious about it. Then we finally had our booking for last night and it was so fun! My wife an I went for date night and were paired up with a group of 6 other people. The puzzles and rooms were so well done and thought out it was a blast! There were cool electric locks, hidden compartments and fun riddles and clues as well as some math built in. We have unlocked the puzzle for what to do with our teens on a weekend afternoon. The "Darkness Falls" puzzle was slightly creepy and a lot of fun. My favorite part was engaging with my family for an hour with no phones. This is now my fourth escape room in the last two weeks. If I had to rate the difficulty, helter skelter was definitely our hardest room to date! I really enjoyed the challenge but the reason behind the four stars was for the fact that we were given Clues without asking. I personally enjoy getting to the point of almost giving up and then collaborating for a clue. I understand though that the staff may know when people are getting stumped and can time Out if they'll succeed or not in the escape. Five stars however for the customer service! Was welcomed by the owner and our greeter once we escaped was super super friendly. Huge plus for great customer service. The room is a little difficult to find at night because it's in a commercial building on the third floor but once you find it, you can't miss the signs. I would definitely recommend this room to beginners and experienced escape artists. read more

We had a great time! The people were very nice and helpful. It was my first time. We did not solve all of the puzzles, therefore the virus/zombies got us No, a bunch of zombies don't come in to scare you to death - it was very nicely done. Not the stuff of nightmares:) We did need a few hints too - a little embarrassed to admit all of this - but honestly - it was still fun and I look forward to trying it again.
