We've been members of the Enterprise Farm CSA for about 2 years now and find their small box to be a good amount of veggies to last us a week. The customer service is great and the weekly emails and recopies are also entertaining and delicious! We made a trip out to the farm this summer to "pick your own" and that was definitely worth the drive from Boston. Lots of fresh veggies and flowers all included in the cost of your normal share. Everyone there was very friendly! The only downside to the CSA is the occasional lack of variety. LOTS of greens most of the summer, and heavy on the root veggies in the fall/winter. For the most part it's a good variety, but could mix it up a bit more maybe? Overall a great value and we'll be back next summer for sure! read more

I started the farm share thinking I'd get fresh and diverse vegetables I wouldn't usually get, but all they have were low quality vegetables that I could get at the store for around less thab 10 a box. I've been shopping on and off at their barn for years and have had a farmshare a few times. I love them, but I do have to say I am disappointed that my farm share didn't include fall harvest fruits and vegetables, like apples, speciality squashes, broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts in the middle of the summer--- instead all I got were delicious summer vegetables like lettuce and greens, tomatoes, snow peas, string beans, eggplant, and carrots. I eventually did find a reliable supply squashes, potatoes, pumpkins, kale, etc... at their winter market in their barn in October through March, but by then I wanted tomatoes and they could not deliver. I paid to have an autumn bounty all year-- it's like they can't control the weather, and other farm stands obviously can. Hence, only 4 stars. read more

I'd done a farmshare in Portland, OR before moving to Boston, so when I found a reasonably priced farm that has a drop off in Brookline I was excited! I signed up for their 2016 Fall Farm Share, advertised at "10 Weeks Sept 15-Nov 12." Sadly, they never delivered the last two weeks of the farm share. I sent them an e-mail November 10th asking for a refund for the two undelivered weeks, they never responded. There was no explanation of why they didn't deliver. So, what seemed like a good deal... was really just a rip-off since they only delivered 80% of what I paid for. I'm posting this now since they have updated their website to allow payment for 2017 shares. Buyers beware. read more

Enterprise Farm has CSA shares, but they also have a Food Shed where you can buy all sorts of local produce. They have local veggies, and fruits and veggies from small farms in the east coast. The also have cider and cider donuts, local meat, and even local flour. The only problem is it's only open from 9-2 on Saturdays, so get up early and get out there! I received this farmshare for the winter of 2009-10. Pickup was very easy and convenient-- there are multiple pickup locations and I chose Davis Sq. There is a four hour pickup window once a week. Overall I was happy with the contents of the share. I eat loads of produce and this share definitely kept me busy cooking all week. The nice thing was the inclusion of some unfamiliar products-- throughout the season I got stuff like barley, fiddleheads, kale, collards, and other items I have never cooked before. It was cool to have the incentive to try these healthy, local items I would probably have never tried otherwise. There was also usually a pile of potatoes, carrots, onions, spinach, apples, etc. to complement the weirder stuff. The quality was always OK. My biggest complaint is the overabundance of lettuce. Some weeks the box was stuffed with three different heads of lettuce. It seemed to take up most of the space in my share and I could never manage to eat it all. I got really sick of lettuce this winter. read more

I had a pretty negative experience of this farm share, although after I complained, I was refunded my money for the balance of the season. I thought the particular vegetables offered were not a good supply of the staples that a typical vegetable eater would want to consume, and thus represented a real increase to my grocery bill for what I felt to be basically fancy "extras," (melons, bok choi, Jamaican callaloo) while I still had to spend a lot at grocery stores on the basics (tomatoes, onions, garlic). However, I was dealt with very fairly after I complained. read more

We really like our farm share. It's super convenient to where we live (7 miles by bike or car). We enjoy the variety, quality as well as quantity of produce that we get. The biggest perk of getting a W. MA summer/fall farm share is the pick-your-own fields. We absolutely love it. There's nothing like fresh picked tomatoes, bell peppers, kale, chard, snap peas, etc. PLUS: beautiful fresh flowers AND fresh herbs. The pick-your-own definitely makes our farm share dollars go further. Because of the farm share, we've been able to try produce that we probably wouldn't normally buy: like fennel and callaloo. We never feel inundated with one particular kind of veggie or fruit. The people that work there are very nice and super friendly. read more

Poor customer service. Last spring I registered and paid for a Summer 2016 CSA farmshare subscription, however shortly before the subscription was set to begin Enterprise changed my pick up day from Saturday to Thursday. When I requested to cancel my subscription because the new pick up day did not work with my schedule, all of my emails were answered promptly and I was told I would receive a refund check in the mail within 30 days. After two months I realized I had not received the refund and proceeded to contact Enterprise to get an update. I attempted to contact the Enterprise office periodically over the following 6 months both by phone and by email, but was never answered. It has been 8 months in all since I cancled my subscription and I still have not received a refund, nor has Enterprise acknowledged any of my numerous attempts to contact them. read more

Disorganized. I would like to preface by saying that I worked on a farm and put together farm shares. I understand the pitfalls of farm shares and am extremely understanding when there is a small crop yield, you don't get the produce you were expecting, etc. I would also like to say that this review is based solely on the CSA. Be wary if you sign up for an Enterprise Farm CSA share. When I went to pick up my first share, the location where it was supposed to be picked up was a grocery store that had apparently closed. I reached out to Enterprise saying that hey, this place isn't even operating and they let me know they just found that out, were sorry, and would need me to pick a new location. So I chose a new location and went there the next week to get my farm share. My name wasn't on the list. So for two weeks, I was CSAless. They apologized and offered me two rounds of double shares. This ends up working out fine. This week rolls around and I go to pick up my share and there are no CSA boxes at the pick up location. The woman who works at the bakery that is the pick up location says she's sorry but they didn't drop off any shares this week. The CSA season I signed up for wasn't only supposed to last this week, but next week as well. So two weeks that I had paid for and budgeted for. The most frustrating part would probably be the gas money spent driving to my new location multiple times to receive nothing. Long story short- disorganized. Hard to communicate with them, slow to get back to me. I never knew what I was going to get in my share, aka no weekly emails with a heads up of what to expect. Just a lot of room for improvement. It also made me sad. After working on a farm I was so looking forward to my own weekly CSA box. I was also surprised, because most of the Yelp reviews looked good. But I now realize they're almost all from 2014. read more

I love this farmshare! The produce is always amazing and pick up really easy. Plus, they send you a weekly newsletter telling you what you might get in your box, what is going on at the farm, and recipes. They also explain some of the more unusual items that could appear in your box. Plus, most of the produce is certified organic or if not is produced by a farm with practices they trust. I understand the difficulties that come with being certified organic, so that is more than fine with me! They really try to give you a nice variety. read more

I wrote a review in December of last year saying that they had not responded to canceling a service for which I'd already paid. They owed me over $400. I used this as a credit toward this year's share, but they STILL owe me over $90. I cannot get anyone to talk to me about how to get this money. My first review talked about how much I liked the veggies despite this situation, but the fact that it's been over a year with NO help or resolution has led me to change my rating. Also of note, my first review has disappeared from the farm's site. If they, in fact, have to pay to remove a bad review, let them pay. I'll keep writing. read more

I'm new to farm shares and I think this is a great idea. I can't buy the organic produce for less at the supermarket and what I get is much fresher. I get a box each week and it has a nice variety of stuff. If you don't know what a farm share is, check out their site and get more info. I really like this farmshare. We signed up for the small Fall share and collect from Agassiz Baldwin Community Center in Cambridge. As well as the familiar stuff - broccoli, squash, potatoes - we get all kinds of variety that we wouldn't think to buy, so it really encourages us to cook new things. It's fresh, real food and great value. We're a family of two and the small share is more than enough for the both of us. they email every week to say what is in the share and remind you to pick up, which is really appreciated. The emails are friendly and always include a recipe relating to the farmshare, which I'm a fan of. It's just a nice touch! read more

The negative comments here seem to me to be from people who expect too much from a local, all organic farm share. This is not Stop n Shop, nor is it a farm that uses pesticides. They cannot change the weather, and are more susceptible to pests etc. that may reduce crop size since they do not use pesticides. So the variety and size of the produce will not look like what you find at a supermarket or even at local farms that do spray (most do). So yes I wish there were broccoli and I wish we received more tomatoes, but I am overall happy with what we receive. When you subscribe to this farm, you are paying a premium for the A) local and B) organic and you have to take the good months with the bad. read more

I have been waiting nearly one year to be refunded my summer share from 2015 after they cancelled the downtown Springfield location -- and they agreed to the refund after the cancellation. I have had to take them to small claims court for which no one showed up and I am still waiting to be paid. read more

I signed up for a small share and it was definitely not worth the price. It seemed we got both a small quantity and mediocre quality of fruits and vegetables. For three weeks, we even received batches of strawberries that were completely inedible as they were covered in mold. There just also weren't enough vegetables in the share to justify the price. It was a huge waste of money, and I don't think I'll be signing up again with Enterprise. read more
