Brian (BY) customizes the workouts himself, and it's next level -- far better than competitive gyms that just buy their programming online. The workouts are genuinely challenging, change every single day, and offer incredible variety, so you never get bored or stale. The coaching is excellent. They provide clear direction and hands-on training while recognizing that everyone is at a different point in their CrossFit journey. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just learning the basics, they scale the workouts so every member can succeed. Most importantly, Kaiju has a tremendous culture. I've made so many friends here, and that community is the heart of the gym. There's a class for everyone -- CrossFit, weightlifting, cardio, Hyrox, yoga (a recent and welcome addition), and even an entry-level course for those just getting started. They run classes seven days a week, including Sunday, when most CrossFit gyms are closed. Several of us compete in local competitions, and the members are there every step of the way with encouragement and support. I recently moved to the Matthews area and originally joined a different "box". I spent 3 months there and felt ignored, uncoached, and unmotivated. I was struggling to find the desire to go to classes and eventually stopped going altogether. I decided to drop in to Kaiju and give it a try. After 3 classes at Kaiju, I got what I had been seeking for 3 months at the other gym.
